@@mistaleesreversespeech7728 😂😭 I thought about this last night. He'd be so proud and happy for him but still make him feel like shit about his success just because its funny and it keeps you lucid. Patrice died way before his time. 2020 really needs his mind.
I'm 23 and bald, started when I was 20. I won't lie it really does fuck with you in the beginning, I just keep my head shaved. Better to just cut your losses than be one of those guys that thinks he still has enough. I guess i'm lucky though, we had kids at my high school that we're going bald. I at least got out of my teens with a full head of hair.
I think what they are saying is he has NEVER Looked or played any different look then just being bald in all movies since he was young right to old... Most actors at some point will wear wigs , or hats or make up or just something to give himself character change for the role but Bruce Wii's is just bald in all roles lol. We even know all future roles he will be bald lol. This is what they mean
Patrice was about to break big after 'Elephant in the Room'...he fought so hard against making it big, making the big money, 'living the dream'...knowing what that was about[I think he feared Chris Rock-type success]...he was a genius that deliberately stayed on the periphery ala Norm Macdonald--both cared/care much more about actually being funny rather than fame and huge money. Norm said once, 'When Patrice was in the room, he always owned the room' and 'No one was better at sizing people up, reading people quickly, than Patrice' Norm is by far my fav comic, but for Norm, who always dominates a room[to the point of taking over TV talk shows from the 2nd spot on the couch] to say that Patrice always owned the room, that says a lot to me I like the visual style of Patrice, the way he gets you to see images during comedy riffs, like on the Pat Cooper O&A where he references The Exorcist [Dimi, Dimi, why you do this to me?]. Here he does it with 'the meat falling outa ya head' part I think he feared success because he sees other guys toeing political lines...and a PC Patrice? he feared that I think...could you imagine Eddie Murphy referring to Travolta as a 'balding sissy' nowadays? Yet while Murphy was getting huge, he did gay Mr T bits and stuff. It reminds me of the rich man and the poor man...the poor man looks at the rich man with envy, thinking about all that he has, and at the exact same time, the rich man looks at the poor man and longs to be that free of worry and responsibility
PorkFrog Norm! My favorite stand-up comedian. I think he is the funniest and Patrice was the truest. Norm will troll and say stupid shit just for shits and giggles. Patrice will find funny in harsh reality. Both are great. Also... You can't mess with Farley.
Fearing success because of seeing others toeing the pc line? No way, money or not, Patrice would always remain an habitual, unapolegetic bridge burner. He really did not give a damn.
Interesting take. But I put Patrice over Norm because I felt he was effortlessly funny and brutally honest at the same time in his jokes. I guess I just like his delivery better. That being said, Norm is a close second
@Tory Shaye what's the difference between fear of success and self-destructiveness? depends what 'success' means to the individual...some players are in it for the dough, some for the game, some for the respect of peers...Norm MacDonald is either a failure or success...depends on the metric involved
The end really killed me. My cousin didn't make it long past high school. Been Bruce Willis for 30 years. His pops is the other kid. They say he was all grey by 25
BertleMcGertle That would've meant that it ended WAY sooner. It always should have been The Opie & Anthony "terrestrial" Show and then transitioned to The Jim & Ant Show once the went to SXM. Though it seems the folks that are the funniest are also not good at business dealings and less likely to cooperate with upper management like Opie did. So even though the magic and positive fan feedback came from Anthony and Jimmy and the few regular comics, management prefered owning someone who needed them rather than someone who is worth listening to anywhere. Opie would have made a killer Executive Producer for the show. He would probably have even made a great PD for the whole damn station. He was in tune with the what people ultimately didn't know they wanted. But his ego wouldn't allow him to be a behind the scenes guy. Hell, if he had made that natural step into what he was good at, he might have been able to find enjoyment managing Anthony and Jimmy's Show. And they'd probably all be friends to this day. Opie's super fragile ego was always his worst characteristics because he was egotistical in the wrong area of the industry. He'd have a well earned ego in the production side. And considering he started the whole damn thing, he'd have been able to negotion the absolute highest paying production salary in the whole fucking business. Why couldn't he see these things?
@@-Twotonepony- Im sure you're right. Honestly, I have no idea about the show's history or innerworkings or anything like that. I just listen to these Patrice bits. I love the open and honest racial dialogue between Patrice and Anthony. I find it very productive for race relations as opposed to the way society chastises people for having ignorant thoughts without understanding that person's own personal experience that may lead them to such thoughts. When we call people racist for an opinion all we do is make people hide those opinions. If we don't uncover the issue we can never resolve them.

Travolta is as good at deception as my drunk grandfather was. He would often come out of his bedroom with another full glass of “water”. He also quit smoking for his last 10 years, and replaced it with walking out to the street and hanging out behind trees. I think he actually believed my grandmother was fooled by that shit
@17:38 this is hilarious 😂 this was all the trial and errors how would they know? 😂 Bill Burr made the joke saying have ant legs staple to your forehead
It's hard to picture Jason Statham with hair, but he was a model before he did acting, and the Rock's 6'5 and Samoan/black. I imagine if they kept their hair, they'd look much younger. Got to admit, it's not fun.
