I have had my Typhoon about a Two years its its a great bag, its suvived summer camp and also skining holiday and many many hours of training, its my main bag and you can tell with the quality it almost looks new
I shot my vulture 2 with my 2500 pound pressure washer, nothing got wet accept for the webbing. I'll be buying more maxpedition gear soon, thanks for turning me on to this product Don.
I've used the "Y" harness many times well flying as my carry on. A Sitka... and it holds my rolled up hoodie or light jacket perfectly! And since last time I flew to Caribbean they lost my luggage and Sitka was all I had. Came through in a pinch with what i could fit in it!... did I wish I had a Typhoon or a Kodiak bigger slinger?.... well yes of couse
Originally, I was hesitant due to the prices, but I've my Maxpedition FR1 Carry Pouch for about six months. Nothing I've seen beats the quality. It's a brilliant piece of tactical gear that I carry everywhere as my every day carrier (mostly for first aid, as it's designed for), it still looks and feels like brand new. :-)
Awesome review, been looking for a good EDC pack. I have a Maxpedition side pack/pouch. I love the durability, but also the way they break in. Very rugged comfortable gear.
Let's say I used this pack as a 2 day camping bag, where could I put my tent and sleeping bag? How could I possibly attach a kydex sheath to the molle? Thanks for the video as well Scootch!
Cool pack I wish it had a mesh waterbottle pocket on the one side. I really wish maxpedition would make a Molle mesh waterbottle pocket. I would put them on my Camelbak packs.
Very informative review. Thinking about getting the Typhoon as a small urban or country side picnic or day pack. I am thinking that it would be a good compliment to my Vulture 2 which is a little bigger than I might want for the family trip to the zoo or a theme park.
Hey sootch, I've subscribed for a while now and love the channel! I have one suggestion after watching alot of gear reviews all over youtube: It would be great if you included negative comments in some of your reviews! It adds credibility and helps us see that you're independent and not just selling stuff or looking for free gear. Thanks for the videos!
i was at adventureland and we were on a water ride, so i got soaked and i forgot i had my maxpedition micro wallet in my pocket. but there was no need to worry because when my pocket and leg were soaked my wallet was completely dry!!
Great review! Mine arrived today ( 1 day early ) from Maxpedition. This pack is by far the best I have owned. This is my first backpack from MaxPed..I have only owned gearslingers and pouches until now. Just added a couple web dominators and this pack is perfect! Thanks for the discount!!!
Might cost some coin up front, but Max gear will last a lifetime of hard use. I've got a couple of their packs and a few other accessory items and everything is made unbelievably well. Super tough! I'll spend my money on quality.
the Y buckle strap system is there so if you have a heavy load out you crank it down so your dippers DO NOT blow out i would never take it out.i rather take 2 seconds to move it out of the way of a pouch then blow my zippers out. food for thought
Great review, how comfortable are the shoulder straps and the back? Right now I have right shoulder in pain that I'm using a HAZARD 4 SLING BAG wearing on my left shoulder.
WARNING: PLEASE READ!!! I like maxpedition and all there bags but if you are looking to buy this bag, I might have a better one for you for the same price. The Maxpedition Lithvore is similar to the typhoon, it has two straps, and is comfortable, it looks less "tactical" and it is good for every day carry. It is from the new advanced gear research line and has more modern looks and materials, it can hold two nalgene water bottles on the two side water bottle pockets and it has two main compartments. One medium sized front compartment with organization features and one main big compartment that has clam shell opening, it is 17 liters and I believe it out performs the typhoon 2. It also has a tension strap on the bottom to strap a tent or jacket. All these great features and it's still small, you don't have to carry around a huge backpack when you can carry a small, up to date backpack!!! I strongly recommend looking into the maxpedition LITHVORE backpack.
Great video, thanks for sharing! For some reason, mine doesn't have the shock cord on the side.....? Not to worry as I've attached the maxpedition bottle holder on to it anyway. 😉
@Martina Dejaquiz WARNING: PLEASE READ!!! I like maxpedition and all there bags but if you are looking to buy this bag, I might have a better one for you for the same price. The Maxpedition Liftcore is similar to the typhoon, it has two straps, and is comfortable, it looks less "tactical" and it is good for every day carry. I'm thinking about getting the Maxpedition Typhoon. I need it for EDC/college as a general purpose bag. I want a small bag, so the Typhoon is a perfect size. The only thing is that the Typhoon is expensive for what you're getting. The Condor costs a little bit more but it offers a lot more features. However, I do not want the Condor because it is too big for EDC. In the UK, the cheapest I can get this for is $187 (£115). I'm just in a dilemma, because I want a quality bag but I dont know if I can justify spending that much money.
hey Rabi, i just ordered one of those $20 china made packs of of eBay, and im very impressed with the quality. i think the name brand was something like everyday tactical.i have a few friends who own condor, and maxpedition, and they were impressed. if i ever get some extra spending cash, i definitely want a maxpedition though. really love their stuff. i made a video on it.. hope that helped.
Very nice bag! If i were to purchase anything from maxpedition it would either be this or the "unterduffel" i believe its called. Sootch! What is your all time favorite piece of maxpedition gear?
Kind of torn on what to get. Would you recommend this or the Falcon II for an EDC pack for a college kid? I've narrowed it down to these 2, thanks largely in part to your reviews. The water resistance is the main selling point for me because I've lost count of how many times I've been caught on campus in the rain, that and I can be rough on gear like this. Biggest concern is keeping the pack as small as possible, while maintaining the ability to carry a textbook or 2 that may be 9 or 10" wide.
Falcon-II is bigger. For college I'd rather go with Typhoon. I got both, and when riding by motorbike, I have found the Typhoon to be better : goes less high, does not annoy me with helmet. The Typhoon is a very good bag for everyday carry. It"s wider, and less taller. Your books will fit fine. Falcon-II is fantastic for doing outside in nature :)
Guybrush Threepwood I actually ended up ordering the Typhoon maybe a day or two after posting that comment. For what I need to carry, it's a good size. Kind of a tight fit, but I like that versus having a lot of unused space and unnecessary bulk. My laptop (Lenovo Y400) won't fit though, just barely too tall. Luckily I don't really have to carry it with me, though it would be nice to have on campus sometimes. So for anyone else wondering about these packs, go with something a little taller if you have to carry a laptop with you.
great quality video. definitely shows the quality of the pack well. just wish it wasnt so costly. hard for the average joe to pay that much for just a pack. BTW you have an awesome channel.
After seeing your thorough review on the Falcon II, I finally got it in Khaki as well from Maxpedition Philippines about a week ago. The staff managing their Facebook page is really kind enough to help me get the bag through shipping because I can't visit their store. Now your review on the Typhoon is starting to sink in. LOL. Budget is already halfway there, haha. But im confused on which color to get -- Black is great for urban edc but the Khaki-Foliage also looks cool. Decisions decisions. Haha
*When you're trying to look tactical, but come off looking like a city slicker lost in the woods.*
*That beginning...* 🤣
Being in the shooting Industry for 20 years I have discovered "finally" that you get what you pay for. . . excellent gear / thank you sir
I have had my Typhoon about a Two years its its a great bag, its suvived summer camp and also skining holiday and many many hours of training, its my main bag and you can tell with the quality it almost looks new
Maxpedition really provides some stellar equipment! Way to show it for it's worth!
the Y harness is great for putting a jacket when you get to warm, or bring along a rain jacket etc.....
Your opening and ending action scenes make me laugh and I do not know why. Nice pack. Thanks to you I am a Maxpedition junky.
I shot my vulture 2 with my 2500 pound pressure washer, nothing got wet accept for the webbing. I'll be buying more maxpedition gear soon, thanks for turning me on to this product Don.
The only maxpedition pack I currently have is the versipack jumbo. I have had it for 3 years and carried it a lot and it still looks new.
I have a Marine Assault Pack for my EDC. Has molle 2, hip buckle and chest buckle. Plenty o space. Tough too.
i may get one of these for my bug out bag... this looks REALLY nice the MOLLE stuff and the attachments i can make looks nice.....
You get my Thumbs-Up for the two closing sentences alone!!!!

Been wanting a small pack like this one. Sling packs tend to shift when bush waking
Sootch, you got me hooked on Maxpedition a while back. Now I am hooked once again. Thanks for the great review and cool pack!
Also, great review. very detailed, and I love the outtakes!
I have a regular jansport backpack that's been going strong for 7 years.... :) I really want this Typhoon
I take it that worm friend really liked the blending colors of the greenish forest khaki ;)
Nice review.
would love to see you do a factory tour of Maxpedition
Great job, you sold me on the Typhoon
That "Y" harness is a compression strap. Not for "security".
Trust me this pack don't need compression. If it is its not very good at it.
+Taddletale Strangler that's just testimony as to the quality of the pack. It's still not for security.
@@jubie4013 Basically a strap for a poncho or light jacket/fleece for when you don't need it.
Scotch
Thank you for you time and effort you put into you videos
You’re My Goto Sir !
I have this bag in black and love it.
Let's say I used this pack as a 2 day camping bag, where could I put my tent and sleeping bag? How could I possibly attach a kydex sheath to the molle? Thanks for the video as well Scootch!

Just noticed these are a close-out item for $96.00 ON THE Maxpedition website.
That looks like a great size.
Always have a pack for each use and situation, my osprey Aether 70 in XL is awesome, definitely something to consider when getting a multi day pack
Hey Sootch, great vid... what binoculars are you using that would fit into that small pocket?
yep they do honor if tell them sootch. they give you 10% discount, tried it already. thanks don.
A very timely review for me. I'm looking for a new get home bag and this may be the one, thanks. I like the inch worm by the way.

Maxpedition is awesome, have a couple different sizes,my latest one was the thermite, nice bag, thanks Sootch

Really like my Typhoon but I dont like that they did away with the conceal carry pocket and hydration tube holes. It really is a nice size tho.

is the molly stitching taped inside to prevent water ingress???
Great review, how comfortable are the shoulder straps and the back?
Right now I have right shoulder in pain that I'm using a HAZARD 4 SLING BAG wearing on my left shoulder.

I own several Maxpedition products and have a lot of good things to say about them. How does one become a sponsor/field tester for such companies?
nice light bagpack
typhoon is a great medium bag size bag
thanks Sootch! great review. I just picked up the Mongo Versipack, that's going to be my BOB, but I like this for a EDC/Hiking pack.
Great video, thanks for sharing! For some reason, mine doesn't have the shock cord on the side.....? Not to worry as I've attached the maxpedition bottle holder on to it anyway. 😉
Is this a good backpack for school too? I wanna get something for both outdoors and indoors
That night have been a European 2.54 centimeter worm, Sootch.
What do you think is the best pack from Maxpedition pack for bug out? U are the man btw.
Hey Sootch, your vertical display of the US flag is wrong. Just fyi.
Thanks for the vids, as always, a pleasure to watch
@sootch00 is your coupon code good for sale items as well?
you should do a survival fishing kit
Answered my question in the first 45 seconds, thanks Sootch!
i watched it again. vid is 4-1/2 yrs old, but VG review and i'm really wanting this pack. it look very nice! thx again.

tommy terski: thx - i'll look into the liftcore maxpedition.
Can't find the beginning intro music of this video on RUclips.
Sootch, do you own Maxpedition's ChowDown Personal Cooler? If so, you should do a review on it. Its almost beach season! As always, great video.
I can't seem to find an "empty weight" on it...you have that info?
I'm thinking about getting the Maxpedition Typhoon. I need it for EDC/college as a general purpose bag. I want a small bag, so the Typhoon is a perfect size. Just ordered mine
Superb and super informative vid, Sootch!
Looks like a great pack
Is it simallor to the MAXPEDITION CONDOR 2 in some ways?
Do you know by chance how many liters that bag is would you say it's less or more than 24
i like that pack, A LOT
Great little pack, and a great review.
hello :) can you tell, can it fit my 13"/33cm laptop ? or measure height of main compartment please
Great review again! Thanks for doing these.
Great looking pack. I want one
Just Purchased.. Great review as always.
i have 6 packs and i have the typhoon - great pack
Very nice bag! If i were to purchase anything from maxpedition it would either be this or the "unterduffel" i believe its called. Sootch! What is your all time favorite piece of maxpedition gear?
I'm sold! Good video production!
great video Sootch00 i just ordered me one, can't wait to get it.....
Great pack, I just wished Maxpedition would use ITW hardware.
Nice bag, but i'm still holdin on to my condor II
To bad is does not have a slot for a bladder for water. Sides that it was a good review, well good for us and not the inch worm.

great quality video. definitely shows the quality of the pack well. just wish it wasnt so costly. hard for the average joe to pay that much for just a pack. BTW you have an awesome channel.
Hey sootch or anyone, what is a good 3 -4 day bag that you would recommend?
Since it is a patch and not a flag, proper display is not a factor. Whole reason the military can wear reverse flag patches on their right arm.
if you would actually listen to what he's saying you'd know that maxpedition sells them on their website.
Fantastic Review! Thanks For Sharing!
Nice Review as always , Many Thanks.
I might buy......soon.
Great Review! Just Ordered
very nice!
"Water is everywhere outdoors."
*Looks out at Big Bend country.*
*Is confused.*
;-)
What would be better for school? This or the Falcon 2?
niether... a normal backpack...
i dont belive so he has a review on the condor backpack though
i thumbed-it-up! older vid, but i still want this pack - thx!
Thanks

They really make great diaper bags!
Very nice!
Thanks for the info.
Love your videos. Please look up the proper way for displaying the US Flag. Your vertical flag on your bag is backwards.
Good stuff
