I saw a real one of the British made tanks, only American that was used during WW1, on a US army base I was at. I forget which base. I don't think the tank was operational though, it was static and outside on a concert platform. That was my first introduction that there were tanks in WW1. I had never seen one before, which was a long time ago.

In WWI these were the first of their kind, nobody else had seen anything like these vehicles. Look pretty pathetic to us who have seen tanks like the Abrams, but 100 odd years ago? Would’ve had a different reaction.

roadkillben sorry to bring the comment section back to life. But these are re productions. The A7V tank is definitely a replica, since the only surviving A7V from WW1 out of the 20 made is mephitso and it's in Australia and doesn't run. The roofs front was blown off by a mortar round.
