- On the 24th and 25th of August 2024, Adelaide Metro opened their new Port Dock station. As a result, the National Railway Museum held an event to celebrate the occasion, running Redhens 321 & 400 on their new triple gauge line, as well as doubleheading 18 inch gauge locomotives Bub the blue steam locomotive and Ken the green petrol locomotive. This video contains footage of some of the Port Dock train services, the Redhens and the doubleheader from several vantage points. GoPro footage is also included on board the Redhens and the doubleheader, including a GoPro cab ride on Bub.
Good stuff
Great stuff! The 18 in gauge journey was the highlight for me.

@@daviobryker thanks Davo glad you liked it
@@VT29steamtrain your editing 2 clips or more is a good stitching keep that up I’m mixing it up with on train and off now
@@daviobryker i like to keep the viewers engaged by changing between clips
@@VT29steamtrain you’ve done well my friend
Love it. I wish the museum got connected to the whole network though. Would be so cool to have redhens chuffing up to Belair or something. Can't have everything I guess :/
@@Planetrainguy none of the museum's equipment is accredited for mainline operation
@@VT29steamtrain But surely some future proofing could've been thought of...?
@@Planetrainguy there is no need for a connection since we have no mainline accredited rollingstock and likely wouldnt be able to justify the costs of bringing anything up to mainline standard
@@Planetrainguy There is no need, as I just explained. And when anything else is added to the collection, it can simply be trucked in, which is usually the easiest option.
@@VT29steamtrain oh welp
bub looks rusted abit on the top of the loco
I can assure you nothing has rusted. Throughout the day the roof can get dirty from soot, priming and dust. Generally the roof is cleaned during lightup.
