Well, it's popular if people watch it 😉 Of course, the algorithm plays a big part too, which is perhaps why it feels like you haven't seen Raphael on the channel recently
Great format, I hope to see more! Two comments: 1. Doing the interview standing up where the viewers could see the clothing a bit better would be preferable I think, 2. I’d suggest the next guest represent the other end of the spectrum: thrifted clothing, and more accessible made to measure items, etc. Cheers!
Thanks for the feedback! 1. We can certainly add more shots of the clothing in the future. As we were in Bob's house taking up his time (we were filming around dinner time), we wanted to be respectful of his space and time. 2. We're interested in ANYONE who has an awesome wardrobe with stories to share!
This is a great video. Just a grounded unpretentious conversation between two people that are very passionate about clothes and dressing. I'm fascinated by Bob's life (NY, London, Venice, Milan). Go Bob. This is a great format and contrary to some other comments here, I think what makes it special is the subject is of a different generation. We can learn from Bob. Yes a lot might be different about the workplace, and not everyone can relate to "going to the country," but Bob made his decisions based on functionality with just a little bit of style consideration. Clearly he was someone that favored comfort and materials more than trends and standing out in the office. Loved this.
I really enjoyed this! Nice to see another "brown" guy like myself. Great overcoats! but I'll stick to my grey double breasted when it comes to pairing with a tux. Please consider more content like this in the future!
I really enjoyed this interview by Raphael. I recently discovered Edward Green and am a fan. I’ve been inspired by this video to be more intentional in choosing garments and styles that can stand the test of time. Well done video thank you
Thank you so much for the video! It was very informative and enjoyable. Mr. Bob gave a great interview and he has some beautiful garments, shoes and coats. I would love to have seen his wardrobe closet. Thank you again!
What a great video. So nice to see such a discussion of very high quality products. I love to see well-loved products. That's one of the things that makes your videos so wonderful. Thanks for doing this, guys!
Its always nice to have something different! Thank you for new video. It will be such a joy to get to know the Austin Reed brand. I have a few pieces from them, but still wondering who they even are. Unlikely didn't find much information on this subject in google
I’m very lucky. I’m older now. I prefer Ralph Lauren purple label suits. I’m very fit and have a terrific physique. They fit like a glove for me too. The workmanship is superb. Italian made.
BTW, he eschewed the perfunctory navy items for brown. That was VERY interesting. Normally, you’d have a lot more black shoes and blue suits. Bob, was a true individual, worth of respect.
so proud of myself that I called it as soon as I saw it that that was a solaro suit also, is that shirt MTO from spier and mackay? It looks very familiar
There are many brands to consider! Spier & Mackay are a popular choice: www.gentlemansgazette.com/spier-and-mackay-shirts-review/?What%E2%80%99s+Inside+YOUR+Wardrobe%3F+We+Take+a+%E2%80%9CViewer+Tour%E2%80%9D
@gentlemansgazette oh yes! Absolutely. I was just saying that in videos it can look very plasticy/shiny like polyester. But in reality it is such a rich and beautiful fabric. At some point I'll commission one.
That was a great segment. Now, it didn’t slip by that he was an investment banker…thus, buying bespoke was much more manageable for Bob than the average guy….I’m not volunteering but it would great to do the same segment with a man who’s moving ‘up’ the socio-economic ladder and he’s buying “off the rack” but may have already bought a pair of bespoke shoes, or suit.
Agreed! We'll add a form on our website where people can submit their interest. Of course, it'll always work out best if we're already filming in the area, as it did with Bob 🙂
I echo the viewer's sentiment. While my grandfather didn't have the range of this chap's bespoke suits, much of the approach was the same that he enlisted in the 1950s. All of his suits were handmade (UK- London). And, an investment banker, he was not. That price to value ratio has altered in our generation. For most today, a bespoke suit is a luxury most men will never be able to afford. I thought the video, respectfully, a tad elitist. Changes in style and moving to a smarter way of dressing for men must be in the auspices of the middle ground - the man earning an average salary - if change is to be impactful and lasting. Apologies, but I hope that makes sense.
I'll preface this by saying that he seemed a very decent chap, and his tastes and mine aren't that different, although he's more Martha's Harbor and I'm probably more the cad in an episode of Miss Marple. I really do think you need to do a follow up episode with someone at the opposite end of the Socio-Economic ladder though. Its easy for any sartorial channel to drift towards the monied end of the market, where the wearer just pays for the skills of others in ironing their shirts. I do recognise that this was probably an off the cuff idea from the dinner in London.
Hello Iain, yes it was an off-the-cuff idea (which is why it's a part of our "Off The Cuff" series), and we didn't have more time to film other people. I like the idea of it but it's a tough one to execute as there are a lot of logistics with a video like this. Still, we really appreciate your input!
That's an interesting format. Glad both Raphael and Bob enjoyed each other's company and knowledge! I hope we will be seeing more of these videos.
I know this kind of content won't be the most popular on RUclips but I completely enjoyed this episode. It's nice to see Raphael on the channel again.

Really enjoyed this! Encouraging me to look at my wardrobe again and try to build something more long lasting and custom.

This gentleman has GREAT TASTE in Clothes, Love his Shirt Collection
We thought so too! It's always fascinating to meet other sartorial people and learn about their style
There's something deeply satisfying on two gentlemen talking in laidback attitude.
This is a fun video! Would like to see more in this format.
I really enjoyed this! Nice to see another "brown" guy like myself. Great overcoats! but I'll stick to my grey double breasted when it comes to pairing with a tux. Please consider more content like this in the future!
I love this. It’s very real and so cool to see other gentlemen’s closet tours.
Brilliant format - so much valuable experience shared by Bob.

I LOVED this video! ❤️❤️❤️ Thank you sir for opening up your closet and sharing the story behind each piece!
You guys are a blessing to me
This video was A LOT of fun. Very interesting. I'd love to see more of this type of thing.
Bob has great taste!
My uncle had the tan suit made by Barbieri in Buffalo.
He referred to it as a translucent herringbone!!
Well I absolutely loved that and hope to see more like this!
I really enjoyed this! Great video! It's so interesting to hear the stories and the history attached to those great pieces.
What a great video, GG! This was fantastic. I would definitely watch a RUclips channel with Bob and his extensive menswear collection and knowledge 👔
Bob seems like a real old-school gentleman.
What a great video. So nice to see such a discussion of very high quality products. I love to see well-loved products. That's one of the things that makes your videos so wonderful. Thanks for doing this, guys!
Really enjoyed his style. Great interview.

Good little video keep up the great work!
As everyone else has said really nice format and very interesting.
Beautiful story behind all the items.
A man after my own heart. I too like fabrics that look solid from a distance but textured or coloured up close.
Amazing stuff. Thank you to the both of you.

Outstanding video, gentlemen! Very informative and interesting.
Would be nice to get a “tour” of someone much younger also that actively uses their wardrobe in normal work/home life.
Really nice video and Bob has great taste and style.
This was a very nice video with a very nice man. Thank you for that.
Nice video. Interesting he has so many rubber sole shoes.
I would love to see a video of like this from someone whose collection is primarily vintage
I love me a solaro suit 😍
so proud of myself that I called it as soon as I saw it that that was a solaro suit
also, is that shirt MTO from spier and mackay? It looks very familiar
Great video! I really like your shirt, Raphael. Where is it from?
Great taste in clothing. The shoes could be in a bit better state
I’m a fan j crew and brooks bothers and Paul strewt
Hey, I've been trying to find a brand that offers sewn shirt collar style polo shirts and I've yet to find one, what would you guys recommend?

@@gentlemansgazette Thank you, i highly appreciate your reply.

What about the outfit rundown by Sven?
We'll compile an outfit rundown of EVERYTHING we wore for the two weeks while we filmed in London 😉
@ YEEEAAAH 🫨😎
Could you do an episode on the Sapeurs of Congo?
Oxfords no brogues! 😄
How do you submit to be on the program?
Keep an eye on our website! We'll add a section or a form where you can submit your interest there
@@gentlemansgazette fantastic.
Anyone catch the name of his Naples tailor ?
Solaro is in my opinion one of those fabrics that looks very tacky on camera but once you see it in person you immediately want a solaro suit.
Bob's Solaro suit is quite excellent - hopefully we were able to do it justice in the video!

How does Bob smell?
To wear these type of clothes one needs to belong to the right social group.
I'll preface this by saying that he seemed a very decent chap, and his tastes and mine aren't that different, although he's more Martha's Harbor and I'm probably more the cad in an episode of Miss Marple.

Camel hair cashmere may not exist - Guess its a pure Camel hair?
You can blend camel hair and cashmere in a fabric
You guys will be more than happy wearing suits as a Jehovahs Witnesses 😁
8:56 I stopped watching after he explained how he was THAT GUY who goes through 500 fabric samples only to have the house not tailor the jacket.
I am sure they had a good markup on the fabric.
