I'm glad to see co-ops getting more positive attention. We have local grocery co-ops that have fresh produce & the best customer service I've experienced in my entire life.

Mondragon is not the world's largest cooperative, it's the world's largest worker owned cooperative. The largest cooperative in the world is Credit Agricole, a french consumer owned cooperative bank. In the US, there are also many cooperatives larger than Mondragon; such as REI (owned by consumers) and ACE Hardware (owned by stores that do joint-purchasing).

Corporaton don't keep 50% net profit after all expenses and government takes there share of the pie. In Europe and Australia net profit for a Corporaton is far worse

If corporations don't keep 50% of their profit. Then, they will not ask for bailout especially the big bank corporations if something wrong is happening.

Co - op = higher price for consumers, since net profit will be worse . More consumers will buy from a franchise a small and medium businesses owners where it cheaper

It was the opposite. Corporations tend to inflate price due to pressure from greedy investors. They will do all the shit they could do just to make an abnormally huge profit. Co-op in the other hand has no pressure in making a huge profit, their goal is just to survive and serve customers right.

You have a slight misunderstanding I feel because yes co-ops are not for profit that doesn't mean it drives up high prices. With normal private businesses a profit must be made because the owner/s have to use that to live. A co-op doesn't, it just has to pay employees which is a business expense just like any other private business so actually co-ops can just break even and run fine and if they do make profits then they will usually end up invest more back into the business compared to other private businesses. Co-ops can afford to drop their prices when we are in a recession, other private businesses can't.
