I love sister Ellen G White, her writing have help me to understand more about God love for man. The bible is first and formost the anwser for the world. God gave her insite, and thank God for that. The first book of hers that I read through was the Early Writings, what a great book, loved it.
She was truly used by God! She pointed to the Bible as our authority !! 🙏🏼

I am currently living with my daughter, and 3 grandchildren, in a city, north of Dallas, TX. I have lost the ability to drive, anymore, and I really miss that, and living out of the city. I trust that God will take care of us and provide what we need, when we need it. Thank God for His love, and guidance, for each of us. I know I can trust Him to provide for us.
I thank God for His seventh day Adventist! I'd also been told through 20yrs of being a Christian that these people were a "cult". Through this time the spirit of the Lord had been showing me through the Word, things that were not compatible with what doctrines the church was teaching and I were frustrated - there were so many gaps also. But as I started to listen and studied the Bible, with the S.D.A,
those gaps WERE filled in!
They KNOW Gods word and don't depart from it.
I've learnt more about Christian history and where we are in prophecy than in any community church, where entertainment is the order of the day!
I truely believe God has raised up this blessed body of truely beloved believers for a light to His people inthe last days. Sensible not sensational! God bless these Pilgims of the faith!

God also said in the forth comandment to remember because he knew ahead of time that people would forget.

I have had an interest in the SDA church and their teachings for quite awhile. As a 31 year old Christian who devours the Bible, teachings on the Bible, videos of various people on youtube talking about the Most High God and the Christian faith in general it has been pressed on my heart by the spirit that it's time for me to at least attempt to seek out a church that lines up with the beliefs of myself and my girlfriend and the things we've determined from reading and studying the scriptures...
Well for one reason or another the spirit was very heavy on my heart last night at work (11p-7a) that I really needed to at least try to find a church for me and Ariel to attend. We've been apprehensive about "traditional" churches that uphold the doctrines of men rather than going by what the Bible says so it was discouraging in that respect. Not to mention most churches would consider us insane when they learned what we've gathered and learned from just studying the Bible. If there is such a thing as "fringe" Christianity (which to me is true Christianity) then her and I would fit the bill.
Well, anyway, on to the point of this comment;I decided to learn more about the SDA group of believers and since there is a SDA church in the town next to ours, decided we would go this Saturday. I find most (not all) of what they teach lines up with what I believe as well simply by reading scriptures without the doctrines of men as blinders. I've seen all the videos slamming SDA and their members for being a cult, false teachings, etc. etc. but that doesn't hold weight for me because I've found that *sometimes* (not all) the group that is getting attacked and slandered the most is actually the one closest to God's word.
Sorry for this poor put together rambling but I was hoping some people could point me to books, videos, articles, etc. supporting both sides of the SDA and what is truly the bottom line. I picked up 2 of Ellen White's writings on my Kindle for .99¢ a piece (the great controversy & the desire of ages) because I've heard many people whom I respect say that while they are not SDA members, they still highly recommend a lot of her writings.
Well, it's gonna be a journey but that's what the Lord has placed on me, that I at least try to find a church that myself and my girlfriend can go to and grow as children of God and also hopefully meet like minded people. If you took the time to read this I applaud you as I'm tired from work but hope it's at least readable and hope to get some suggestions by other folks. Clayton Eugene it looks like the lord is leading you to investigate just keep pressing forward and pray to him to show you the truth that he wants you to see just open your heart and The Holy Spirit will guide your footsteps to him the Sda is the closest church that I have found that teaches the true gospel and the Ten Commandments and Jesus"s Sabbath day Saturday are the Heart of it I'll be praying for you for Jesus to lead you to where he wants you to be God Bless!

Tony Fordyce Im no Seventh day Adventist but I know a little bit about Batchelor, he comes from a family that was very wealthy, I'm talking 900 million maybe a billion dollars so I don't think he's trying to flim flam people for the peanuts he makes as a pastor. His father was tycoon George Batchelor was one of the pioneers in the air freight business.

You're trying to sell a worldview that we're not living in the dark ages, that you're somehow enlightened, that this is a new age and things are different but that doesn't fly because more people were killed in the last hundred years then in all of history before. Atheists killed more people in the enlightened 20th century then and all religious wars combined. Batchelor doesn't need your money. I don't buy into his theology but just because we embrace different worldviews I'm not going to make a lot of silly statements about the guy because that would make me an intolerant bigot like you.
One has only to pray earnestly asking the holy spirit for understanding. We have a blueprints directly from God himself telling each what He requires. Study and pray
Tony, to God be the glory always. Study the results of sin. Study how sin came about and the effects of which today why we all suffer with disease and eventually die. Study the creation story in the book of Geniuses and learn the sin truth of the fall of our foreparents, Adam and Eve and as punishment God said you will truly die as a result of disobeying. We must serve The ONLY TRUE WISE AND LIVING GOD. GET INTO A BIBLE BELIEVING CHURCH

I am a member at Sac Central and the reason Pastor Doug uses notes is because it is a study, not the daily sermon. We have a quarterly study guide and each Bible Study is designed to help us in the study guide. The notes are because we cover a lot of scripture during that short time and his notes save a ton of time. However, his notes are published on the website after the study to be used as a guide to help us with the quarterly study booklet. Pastor Doug has a great sense of humor but takes the study and the Bible very seriously. By the way, it is an open study and anyone can attend. In fact please let me extend an invitation to you for one of the coming Sabbaths. The address is on the web site and it is close to the University. Even if you get there a bit early, 9:15 AM, the Church Parking Lot might be packed but the business directly across the street permits us to park there for services on Sabbath. Hello from the future! 2024 here and we’re just fine:) Adventists always create panic and terrify children saying the world is ending. Guess what? There is less violence now than almost any point in history. Please don’t scare children and cause them trauma which will follow them their entire lives. It is beyond damaging, the fear and shame that the church instills in them

One thing I love about Jesus is that He never unnecessarily put Himself in needless debates and name-calling. Jesus never harbored such a spirit of contention and belittling. I am a Seventh Day Adventist but most importantly I am a Christian. I don't believe God is pleased with the angry quarreling taking place below. I do hope that I can clarify a few things for some people about SDAdventism and what it teaches. Please review the verses I cite as we all must be as the Christians in Berea were (Acts 17:10-11).
Too many people claim to know what SDAdventism teaches simply because they saw a video on RUclips or met some person with some strange beliefs (either claiming to be Adventist or used to be/knew someone who was Adventist). For example, one common "belief" that these people say SDAs have is that SDAs worship Ellen White. Adventism DOES NOT teach members to worship Ellen White. Adventism teaches its members to worship the God of the Bible, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (Exodus 34:14 and 1 John 5:7). God and God alone deserves our worship. This is Adventism's teaching. However, we do believe that God does bestow the spiritual gift of prophecy upon individuals to help guide the church back to the Scriptures and to help build the faith of the church in the Scriptures and in God. That has always been the role of the prophet in Biblical times and that hasn't changed at all with the passing of time.
Also, Adventism does not teach legalism. Legalism was the sin of the Jews which led to the crucifixion of Jesus, elevating the commandments of men over the commandments of God. (Mark 7:7) Every Christian is commanded by God through the Scriptures to "sin no more" once we have been forgiven and "Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect." (John 8:11 and Matt 5:48). However, Jesus was speaking of character perfection. Does the Scriptures recognize that we will make mistakes? Of course. Just read 1 John 2:1-6, John 14:15, and Romans 6:1-7,12-18 for starters. But this is why grace is so powerful because God’s grace makes up for what we lack (so long as our faith is abiding in Jesus and our life is a trend of following God’s Word as a consequence of that faith). This is why God recognized certain people of the Bible as "perfect"and “blameless" even though they obviously made some mistakes (i.e. David, Job, Noah, etc.). God judges us by the light (truth) that we know (Acts 17:30) and whether we have repented of the sins we have committed (1 John 1:9).
As for Sabbath, Sunday worship and the Mark of the Beast, it is more simple than we're making it to be. If God commanded us to worship on the seventh day, then we should worship on the seventh day, not the first day. Does that mean a Sunday-keeper has the Mark of the Beast? No. Why? Because its not enforced by law to keep it yet. Why is it such an important issue to worship God on the day He chose? Because we don't want to make the same mistake as the Jews in keeping for doctrines the commandments of men. "But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men." (Matt 15:9) We must be as the apostles taught, "Not giving heed to Jewish fables, and commandments of men, that turn from the truth." (Titus 1:14) The Sabbath is incredibly significant because of what it represents spiritually. Its a big topic so I can't cover it all here.

According to history the twenty four hour day and the 365 day calendar was invented by the Egyptians even the names of the days and months were named by them. God created the entire universe therefore how can he be confined to a minute space of time like the earth's solar system?

tawana mzilikazi You had asked how can the God of Heaven confine Himself to such a minute space of time (and place if I might add) if God is so limitless. I find that a strange question since, after all, "with God nothing shall be impossible." (Luke 1:37). Its like asking how can God make something out of nothing. God is not limited in power so why does it seem like a strange thing for Him to have the ability to become a human being? He has done it many times in the Old Testament (just check out Genesis 18 for instance about Abraham's encounter with God in human form or God confining Himself to a bush in Exodus 3). If God can confine Himself in a human body for a few hours, why is it impossible for Him for a few decades? No one knows how God can do it but its clear that He can. "For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts." (Isaiah 55:8,9)
As for the Egyptian calendar and stuff like that, the Sabbath is not bound by human inventions like that. Sabbath is from Friday sunset to Saturday sunset (for lack of a better way to describe it). This is called the seventh day in Scripture. That is how God's people have always worshipped the Sabbath because that is how God had defined what a day was: "And the evening and the morning were the ____ day." (Genesis 1)
Nevertheless, sometimes God uses human inventions to gain the understanding of His people and the people of the world. Even the apostle Paul used this same method in order to help his audience to understand spiritual things (just read Acts 17 when he was in Athens). Solomon openly mentions that he gathered proverbs and sayings from a variety of extra-biblical sources to write his books (Eccles 12:9,10). As the apostle Paul states: "For though I be free from all men, yet have I made myself servant unto all, that I might gain the more. And unto the Jews I became as a Jew, that I might gain the Jews; to them that are under the law, as under the law, that I might gain them that are under the law; To them that are without law, as without law, (being not without law to God, but under the law to Christ,) that I might gain them that are without law. To the weak became I as weak, that I might gain the weak: I am made all things to all men, that I might by all means save some." (1 Corinth 9:19-22) In other words, if he can use something within the person's distinct culture, language, teachings, etc that can win the person to the Gospel (but would not violate the commandments of God) then by all means he will use it to reach them for their salvation.

She claimed, though, that her writings were "a lesser light pointing to the great light", meaning her writings were God-inspired and not at all above the Bible. May God enlighten you more, sister!!!

God provided my family a place that's literally in the middle of nowhere. I just need to convince my wife that with His help we can do it.
Thank you. This has helped my family and I's decision in our move. We recently spent a few days job searching near live oak, Lincoln, yuba, etc. (all the small towns around Sacramento) we live in San Jose, ca and its getting pretty hectic in the city. But my husbands work is picking up better here so it's been hard making the decision to move. It's been heavy on our hearts that we are being selfish. We have two young daughters & we want the best for our family. God lead me to this video. Ty! :)

SDA is not a cult.
They are NOT listed in the book of cults that I have, but the Catholic church is and Islam, also the Mormons and the Jehovah's Witnesses among others...BUT the Adventist are NOT there.

Please explain away a GOD promise that was originally made (2 Samuel 7:12-16, 931-722 BC) at least 722 years B.C., then that same promise expanded upon (Psalms 89:27-37, 1410-450 BC, and Jeremiah 33:14-22, 586-570 BC) at least 450 years BEFORE Jesus Christ was even born - that He fulfilled 450 years later in Matthew 16:18 resulting in 2,000 and ongoing years of "proof":

TM - you said "I'm now a Christian and no longer sin, as long as He is in me." There is an important distinction that you may not be aware of -- please look at I John 1:8 (KJV) - "If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is NOT in us." And I John 2:1 "My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And IF any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous . . . " And back to I John 1:7 "But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin." It DOESN'T say that we have no sin, just that we are cleansed from it as we walk in the light of Christ. The Bible is clear that there is no one who is without sin past or present (except Christ). Some (maybe you?) would say that these verses in I John are not applicable to Christians. Isn't all Scripture for correction & direction (2 Timothy 3:16)? And the verses indicate ALL have sin. We should not go against the Word of God (not even for wishful- thinking purposes because that places us under the influence of the world) -- see Romans 12:2 - "And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God."
I've seen firsthand what happens to people when they say (and believe/behave like people following ideas of Jacobus Arminius that they have distorted) that they can reach a place where they do NOT sin. Once they 'reach' that point they NO longer are honest when they do sin and thus do NOT confess as the Bible says we should do when we do sin (I John 2:1 again) so as to receive His cleansing again.

I'm sorry, but you're misinterpreting the passage in Romans and you're ignoring scripture that contradicts your assertion! I'm very much aware of Romans 6 and saying it means 'immunity to sin' is only possible if you add words to the passage! Romans 8:1 says, "There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit." There is no mention (implied or otherwise) that we have no sin, just that we are no longer condemned for our sins! Sin is still a possibility for Christians. There are so many verses that warn us to be wary of temptation, if we were immune to sin (rather as you said, "I'm now a Christian and no longer sin") there would be no need for such verses!
Your both right those scriptures are true. But you got to put ALL scripture together. Jesus says we ALL sin and he has died for our sins. and we do not get a new perfect body til the resurrection. I am in the exact same situation. I am in a hurry to get moved out of the city and back to the country. My husband wants to take things slowly; pay off the house, buy a new truck, buy some land, build on the land, and eventually get moved out to the land.
I am having this problem as well, we have 4 children & this looks like my last opurtunity to not only go to a country but leave california alltogethor. These are hard decisions.

I live where there are tons of drugs, bars, loud music, fights, and pot. How I long for an old farm house, garden, dog, quite, and peace. My kids are way too use to liberal values, smell of pot, drinking, angry music, and fights.

Hey bro, how things, You can find it in revelations chapter 13, and 14. the latter part of chapter 13 speaks about receiving his mark in your hand or forehead, and also chapter 14 verse 9. If you also read the whole of those two chapters it explains, the beast, which is Rome or the papal power, the image of the beast which is America and the mark which is sunday law, you see the text says, when he the spirit of truth is come he will guide you into all truth, So pray with a humble heart and spirit, its not about how much we know but by us realizing that we need to depend on God fully and surrender our all. Also, the bible would not say sunday law, we have to then compare scripture with scripture,also when it mentions receiving his mark in your forehead or hand, forehead is a representation of you choosing or making a decision, hands signifies labor or work, so keep this in mind, also it gives you the way marks and it explains things better. Its called your a bias fool. Cause if you listen to him he says many many verses. I heard atleast 4 or 5 of them. He has a great great mind and people like him dont always need to look at a scripture to know it. I have some scripture memorized myself i have forgetten some of the ones i memorized but if i practiced again i would remember them.
Instead of being a basher and a hater why dont you give the bible a try and stop coming down on a person of God. I would love to see you have the courage he has to step up and preach the same messages he does. It isnt easy being an SDA preacher. I'm not a preacher and I've been kicked out of many churches for preaching this word. Heck there are SDAs that would rather block their ears to most of his messages than change. But any change made for God is a change in the right direction.
So with all sincereness I would pray you give it a try and change your attitude. Just because someone doesnt do things the way we believe they should doesnt make it bizarre or weird. In fact everything he says is scriptural doesnt need to be read straight from the Bible to be scriptural. Jesus hardly ever read from a book. One cause the Bible wasnt there and two because it was in his head. We should be able to teach as Jesus did from the mind.

God never says to Angels you are my son, but he says this is my Son worship Him or let all the Angels worship my Son. You might want to correct your spelling. REFERS...SERVE...ARCHANGEL (all one word). And NO JESUS CHRIST and Michael the archangel are NOT the same. JESUS was the son of GOD, Michael was a created spiritual being who is in charge of the church of GOD, the guardian angel.

It occurs to me to draw a parallel between moving to the country and the prophet Jonah who, after delivering the warning to Ninevah, left the city and sat there waiting for God to destroy them. A God-led attitude means much greater concern for the eternal fate of others. The Saviour wants all of us to have a burden for souls. All of the Apostles did.
Well then I can see that I won't be able to reach you, as I thought. My older brother was raised the same way I was, but then departed like you did. It's not easy, and you have to burn a LOT of calories to understand everything in their proper context, and to connect scriptures that seem to contradict each other. I know you wouldn't hear my testimony, but so many incredible, supernatural things began to happen when I earnestly sought out the Lord without reservation. It's amazing.

We are left here to witness to the unsaved and not be isolated with no one around. We need to be around people so that they can hear the gospel. If we die in the city, we are in Heaven and people are reached for Christ. I think to isolate ourselves in a country estate is to not fullfill the great commission. I live in the country and the Lord has convicted me that I need to be around people. How will they hear about the Lord if we are all in the hills??? I also hate the isolation.

I grew up in farm country in the Mid-West U.S. I could definitely tell a difference in the attitudes of people in the military back in the 1980's. I felt that city people were so presumpuous and insolent that I developed a prejudice against they're always looking out for themselves. Then after I got saved, I realized that God made them too. I noticed that you really have to watch what and how you talk to them to make them feel comfortable talking to you.

The essence of the Christian faith is we have received undeserved grace when Jesus stepped down from heaven, put on human flesh, and died on a cross as a payment for our sins. He took our sin and brokenness and credit us his righteousness. This is amazing grace. This should be like an atomic bomb in our souls that wakes us up to glory of God! How wonderful is our Lord!
Now because of this glorious gospel message we willingly serve on the mission field in one form or another. We go to places where the gospel is deprived. Where there is sin and brokenness. Where people are spiritually speaking, dead. We don’t run from these places but we run to them! Just like Jesus pursued us.
My problem with Doug’s sermon is he is influencing people to run from these cities instead of making these places their homes for the sake of gospel transformation. Places that are part of the great commission of making disciples of all nations, yes even major US cities.
If Jesus lived like Doug, we would all be in trouble. But Jesus didn’t leave to a quiet countryside, instead he went to the cross.
My friends, we are not called to an easy life! This is a life, as Paul puts it, of joy and suffering. The joy of following Jesus and beholding his glory and a life of suffering as we labor with others and sharing their burdens. This is what it means to follow Christ in places that are deprived of the gospel. May we never run to a life of comfort, that day will come when we are in heaven. Love you all.
