Hi the instruction is very clear and the video is great! Thanks! I have a quick question: What is the reason you choose to use explicit model? If the static general model is used, can we see necking in the middle?

There is significant motion related to the steel while applying load, that is why dynamic explicit was chosen.

If I use the fracture energy in the damage evolution, do I need to multiply it with the element size?

Why did u use those values for fracture strain/stress triaxility/strain rate?

Can I use ductile damage for weld?
My model is about progressive collapse. I apply the load on a column and I want to calculate the strength of the weld and can you suggest any reference or guide for doing that please?

Please share a simulation on FSSW (friction stir spot welding) system abaqus step by step and send me the CAE FSSW file
