I remember getting a PS2 for Christmas in 2001, this was the first game I played. I remember being blown away by how realistic the first village looked, even my dad was impressed and he's never been much of a gamer or shown interest.
Getting this game for christmas was great i agree.

Sad that Kaede died and never reunited with Samanosuke.
This was retconned in the later games. Kaede reunites with Samanosuke and helps him fight the demons. She is later killed by Gargant prior to the events of Onimusha 3.
@@zatoby6705 I don't think that's canon, they say here they never saw each other and she died in a war at Yamazaki Province. They can't just erase what they said in this ending.
In the aftermath, the Demon World without Fortinbras' controlling was spiraling into chaos. Demons clamored to be his successor.
Man it was cool that he looked so weak in his serpent form in Warlords and actually looked far bigger and more powerful in Dawn Of Dreams
@@christianastorga4555 The lore was that he was in a weakened state at the time Samanosuke fought him, due to the wars of Oni (Ogres) and The Genma (Demons).
@@Zennethe Which makes sense. If he was at his absolute best in Warlords, Samanosuke would've gotten slapped and the Genma wouldn't even need Nogunaga at that point either.

I always wondered why they retconned this ending with 3. There is no mention of Kaede, Yuki, or anything really about this ending. Samanosuke just kinda shows up at a battle and everyones like "yep, there he is" like he never disappeared or anything. Just kinda wtf.
I thought the same. A plot hole that needs to be filled.

Me too man. I was like ‘what? Kaede died?’ That’s wild man. Also the fact that the narrator said that samanoskai is no where to be seen and nobody knows what happened to him. That’s crazy.

I hate how this is the only game Capcom remastered. Because they only remastered this one, the sale was so low and that ruined the decision for Capcom to make Onimusha 5. They should at least remastered the trilogy. I bet the sales will skyrocket if we got all 3 games remastered in the first place.

Yes, even the demonic howling right before Samonosuke opens his eyes. Along with the growling while he holds his blade in place while his arm is split in half. It's the little things.

But each has their own ways.
The originals are composed with traditional Japanese instruments for those who're looking for classic Onimusha and traditional Japanese theater experience, while the remastered are somehow vocalized orchestral composed for those who're looking for an epic "western fantasy genre" experience.

The original artist "stole" the music. To avoil legal issues they re-did a new OST. It's sad cause the OG OST was so amazing but, you can't blame them.

I just defeated the game. A really sweet game. I havent played it in a decade or maybe even more. I didn't realize how short it was. A nice short trip. Maybe that's why they dont remake it. Too short for today's standards.
@@rodrich182 Well, with remakes like RE2, 3 and even 4 with the changes they made to the storyline and even gameplay elements while still keeping it within the RE lore, they could do the same with Onimusha; keep the plot the similar or at least similar while making any neccessary changes or expanding certain plot elements and really change the gameplay/combat mechanics around. At least that's how I would want to Capcom to remake Onimusha, if they were inclined to.

The original Composer, who was praised at the time for being a Fully deaf composer, lied, and was only partially deaf. A sa result, his msic had to be replaced.
