I think there’s a bit of a misunderstanding by eeeeveryone of this quote.
Culture is not necessarily “feeling good” and “getting along”.
It could also be “move fast and break things”, “take radical responsibility”, “pursue excellence”.
And judging from the videos I have heard from you, actually, you might agree with the statement if it included these ideas.
Because as you said, there are few things that can overcome incompetence.
And a culture for enthusiastic skill development could be a powerful path to a strong development team.
Of course, if I say it that way, then it means the culture is not of this company, but rather, maybe of this area of the world or of this industry.
To me, a 100% focus on strategy is a top-down organization where no one does anything unless told to.
