I can’t believe they held him to the price on an estimate when something comes up. Glad Izzy pointed out what tacky clients they are and that he is careful. BTW he is very affordable and honest in his prices.
I'm a big fan of geometric design elements but if I cooked in that kitchen for more than 5 minutes those tiles in my face would cause me to be committed to an institution. Tiles such as these should be used as small area accents and not as an all over surface material. It's too much.
I don't like some of the tiles, especially the kitchen backsplash, nor do I prefer the styles at all but it looks great. I think it could have been WAY better but maybe they spend according to prices in neighborhood
Interesting architecture. I really like the courtyard at the entrance. It gives privacy & space to hang out, it's cosy. I'm not the biggest fan of the dark cabinets and the light floors. Both look good alone, but this specific combination... a no for me.
I do not think that Tarek and Christina pay for the tiles, I think it's sponsored. Advert for tile company..... how ever it's beautiful and I like the combinations
They may have gone over budget but the home is beautiful and they still made a huge profit. Love the bedroom windows and the bathroom cabinet. They should add links to products. They really did do this home justice especially with all the window details. Very nice!
Beautiful house! I’m trying to figure out the demographic the stagers are gearing toward, 60 year old woman? It’s dated. Overall the finishes were really nice. It was a nice job on the house itself.
That is a great staging comment. Premier Staging does the best job and have been working with them from the beginning. They use properly scaled furniture and their color combos and accents are spot on and the style is clean and contemporary.. You will never see Premier leaving messy bedspreads like with the other stagers. I dislike the staging using napkins stuffed into stemware on dining tables. And plastic topiaries as space fillers have got to go.
THEY HAVE MAGIC in THEIR HANDS 🙌✨🙌 and 🏡 and LOVE in THEIR HEART'S and HAVE NOT FORGOT HOW THEY STARTED THEIR JOURNEY and ALL THEY HAVE BEEN THROUGH TO GET WHERE THEY ARE🏆💫🏆💫
Christina and Tarek are pretty aggressive in changing walls, etc., of a famous architect. Saying that, restoration is very needed. But the original, intended design will never be much of a consideration in their plans.
Makes you wonder why Tarek was specifically looking for a house by that architect. And a buyer who wants the original design by that architect, will be very disappointed by what they did. What they did is also not mid-century design. It's just their usual bland modern style.
I don’t understand why anyone would be so thoughtless to move a door, a crucial design element, in a classic architect’s design? Maybe the original architect knew what (s)he was doing, and maybe buyers/contractors/flippers should respect that and work WITH those design elements. It’s one thing to reverse bad home owner renovations, but to completely mess with the original design, just so you can have a kitchen island is disrespectful.
One gets the feeling that they never plan anything. And why wouldn't they be thinking about the roof until the day it rains and they find out that the roof leaks?
Hmm. and for the kitchen the black white and grey tiles do not go with the dull brown 70s looking cupboards at all...and too 3d looking with the brown plain cupboards...just yuck
I love this house The cabinets and the floor match perfectly and I love the geometric design because it’s not like something you guys have ever done before
The bathrooms and bedrooms came out nice, but that kitchen is hideous. I live in a Cliff May Rancho and I've never seen a mid century home with the dizzying geometric designs. These homes were designed for simplicity and indoor-outdoor 'flow', not a modern art experiment. Host Spaztec is always annoying hyped up in those homebuyer ads and on HGTV. He swings a sledgehammer just for TV drama, not from any research into various local building codes, which takes time. His ex-wife failed in the kitchen. Imagine waking up to that every day. Izzy is the greatest, and clearly the sane one here. A decent roof for that size house was $8 to 11k, twenty years ago, with no added insulation as these houses are very cold in the winter with all the windows and most were built on the cheap with no insulation in the walls. A new roof today should be in the neighborhood of $15,000 - not $7k. You get what you pay for. Many of these flippers ruin a home's resale value in the long run with their rushed decisions.
I watched a video where a comment said they always take away character from a house but they update it to functionality. It isnt always a hit designwise but this person also complained aboutnthem taking out the carpet in bathroom 🤮🤢🤮. I would've went with a bold desig. For yhe backsplash just not thay design. That is more of a outdoor kitchen bbq area tile.
I am not a big fan of this show and do watch it much but ...WHY ARE THEY ALWAYS TALKING ABOUT LOSING MONEY!!! So tacky. Yes it could happen but they do not seem like poor people. I wish he were a little more normal instead of catastrophizing everything.
I can’t believe they held him to the price on an estimate when something comes up. Glad Izzy pointed out what tacky clients they are and that he is careful. BTW he is very affordable and honest in his prices.
you used him for a project in OC? or are you just saying based on his numbers in the show?
@65MMREHP I live in a cheaper area and those prices were still low for where we live.
Izzy is a true leader you can tell he likes to work as a team 👏

That bold of a pattern gets old really fast.
Totally agree!
I wish they had repeated the tile from the fireplace I really like that geometric tile
I also think the colour on them clashes with the cabinets
That backsplash looks like flooring. But other than that, they hit it out of the park!
I don't like some of the tiles, especially the kitchen backsplash, nor do I prefer the styles at all but it looks great. I think it could have been WAY better but maybe they spend according to prices in neighborhood
I agree, they have done better.
Yeah me too, and mid century is not my style but I think they did a great job I actually like it
I love Izzy!!
This babe is one of the most self-righteous, arrogant and compassion-bereft individuals in media today. "Eeeewwww."
Yes this one is not so great. Don't like the cabinets with the floor and the tile.

I wished their shows continued on.its they best renovation show.they work so well together.all the best for their future.
Opening the space made a big difference in the layout and interior of the house.
It made ALL the difference. 👍
Had me sold when I saw the oranges
Izzy is my favorite!! ❤
the kitchen back splash is weird!!!!!
The kitchen tiles made me dizzy to look at them. They look like something out of the Twilight Zone"
Beautiful house! I’m trying to figure out the demographic the stagers are gearing toward, 60 year old woman? It’s dated. Overall the finishes were really nice. It was a nice job on the house itself.

The kitchen cabinets and backsplash don't look good together. The cabinets are the wrong color and too patterned and compete with the backsplash.
Ikr..
The kitchen back splash not look nice at all😑
that backsplash clashes with cabinets, pedestal sinks r not practical....but who cares what we think, cause they r the one making big $$$
Omg! Not liking the kitchen why would you
have those tiles with the beautiful brown
kitchen cupbards.
This house looks very 70's
The sink though !!!
Another one bites the dust. They need to rename this to Vintage deconstructed
THEY HAVE MAGIC in THEIR HANDS 🙌✨🙌 and 🏡 and LOVE in THEIR HEART'S and HAVE NOT FORGOT HOW THEY STARTED THEIR JOURNEY and ALL THEY HAVE BEEN THROUGH TO GET WHERE THEY ARE🏆💫🏆💫
Beautiful 😍 a little too mid century for me though

@@shadowfox009x I agree. Respecting the architect's original design should have been more respected.
Glad they retained all that gorgeous natural light n privacy w clerestory windows! Otherwise feels not much left of MCM…
She is breath taking
That back splash is hideous with those dark wood cabinets!!
Where does the old furniture go to?
They probably trash everything in huge dumpsters.
The backsplash! Toooo much! Why have backsplash as focal point?
I don’t understand why anyone would be so thoughtless to move a door, a crucial design element, in a classic architect’s design? Yay! I LOVE seeing new hgtv videos
May you please make the videos longer
I usually love their stuff I don't really like this one
Hate that kitchen backsplash, but I guess it fits the style of the house.
Christina was rude with the dog comment.
Kitchen backsplash is a miss for me.
Love these two
Hmm. and for the kitchen the black white and grey tiles do not go with the dull brown 70s looking cupboards at all...and too 3d looking with the brown plain cupboards...just yuck
Backsplash is ugly as are the pedestal sinks in the bathrooms.
I love this house The cabinets and the floor match perfectly and I love the geometric design because it’s not like something you guys have ever done before
After all of their changes, can it still be a Cliff May house? I would hate to see what they would do to a Frank Lloyd Wright home!!!!
I think Christina is the champion of this show.
Kitchen tiles and cabinets doesn't go well. Awful
First time for me to be negative here but too busy in kitchen..

Christina has zero idea what MCM style is.
Those are some fugly cabinets.
Kitchen tiles are ugly
Pretty much every home is a time warp Christine…..that’s what you guys do….renovate old homes.
Guys……….it’s rain, you’ll dry 😳😂
Mid century modern homes have a different feel than the typical ranch house.
Americans doing a new roof for $7500. German House owners be like 🤯🤯🤑🤑
@Digby Dooright no, quite the opposite. Every house owner fears roof work... Easily 40000€ ($45,000)
Well I suspect these prices would be much higher now because my house was 11,000 in the Midwest. And it’s not a huge house
Have you ever flip a haunted house.
i really not understand y amor mostly tall but they house not high ceiling

I do not care for the kitchen backsplash at all…..
LOL. Several years later. This house is now a rental and some of the updates have not aged well...
Backslash is GROSS
Least favorite you’ve done! Don’t like the kitchen. Dark wood against light floors with grey black and brown?
bathrooms with no storage.....awfullllllllll
I like T and C's work but those psychedelic backsplashes give me seizures. Yuck.
It's not the same, they bicker too much, no connection anymore, it's boring...
Tarek you can be a real jerk! You approved the decision. Don’t blame Izzy. Take some responsibility yourself!
Why does Tarek always pout like a little boy whenever there is a setback?
The kitchen backsplash is horrible.
That kitchen back splash looks ugly
I am not a big fan of this show and do watch it much but ...WHY ARE THEY ALWAYS TALKING ABOUT LOSING MONEY!!! So tacky. Yes it could happen but they do not seem like poor people. I wish he were a little more normal instead of catastrophizing everything.
Tarek calm the hell down please. No wonder Christina ran for the coast
Hideous backsplash !!! Usually you nail it......WHAAHOPPEN???!!!
Hate the backsplash
The backsplash is absolutely atrocious
California is a fine city. Guess where'd all the money by went to.
California's not a city. 🙄
Truly ugly kitchen backsplash. I couldn't live with that.
I usually like their flips and their design choices but I will have to agree with you. The backsplash is horrible
Like like like like like like
That kitchen backsplash is soooo ugly
What do you mean it’s the perfect one in matches the floors and matches everything and plus it goes with the cabinets
Yeah everything in that ugly kitchen was definitely sponsored
The backsplash is 🤮🤮
are you kidding horrible backsplash
Too busy
Jazmine Walker
Horrible
