Philippians 2:5-11: The Servant of God Made Manifest

Dr. McReynolds explores “the humility of the exalted Christ” and the call for believers to follow Christ’s example of loving self-sacrifice to the lowly. She underscores that since Christ Himself was lowly, He is able to identify with disabled persons and disability ministers, bringing understanding and purpose to their suffering. Dr. McReynolds advocates that by developing Christ-like humility, and the Church aligning itself with the heart and mind of Christ, the Church is brought into unity and equipped to effectively welcome and include those affected by disability. She closes with a poignant story of Haitians choosing to praise God joyfully and give thanks, despite enduring an unimaginable catastrophe.
