My knees are 31,5cm and calves are 37,5cm. With the original 7mm sleeves I could wear XS. But the phantoms started to tear after 6 months. Do you think I should buy the same size for the „powerlifting“ knee sleeves?
@@InnerStrengthProducts After watching your video on how to fold them to fit the knee i realized that size XL is perfect for me so thank you for the quality videos you put on youtube. You guys are awesome. 👏👏
As mentioned they are not as stiff as the Inzer sleeves, rather they are designed to provide maximal compression on the joint throughout the entire range of motion of a squat, rather than having issues with the sleeve gapping at the bottom.
I bought mine of a market space, im used to very stiff sleeves and i was a little surprised by how soft these felt. The tag in my SBD's says 'sbd power knee sleeves' are these the same from ur video?
My knee joint is 40cm, my calves is 43cm. I bought size L and it stuck at the top of my calves. Can you suggest which size will give me comfortable fit ? XL or 2XL ?
I was wondering what the main differences are and if these sleeves would be worth purchasing. After watching this video I can confirm that they would be! These will definitely be my next buy to further my training! Thank you for the information, Ryan! We are so lucky to have a company that really cares about powerlifting, and it's athletes based out of Saskatchewan! Inner Strength is the best.
I have got them last week (literally ordered them 1 hour after their release. I have an old pair of SBDs and currently use the Inzer Ergo Pro. The new SBDs are thicker and better than the old ones. But are not even close to the Inzers and A7 Rigor Mortis. I might keep them as they are comfortable for volume work. Besides that, they are quite disappointing for a “stiff” pair.
SBD doesn't care about powerlifting. 😂 They downgraded the original sleeves these past few years and even worse since making colored sleeves. They resemble a sock more than actually being supportive. These new ones just restore the original neoprene formula that lifters complained about, but only because of Inzer putting them on blast did SBD finally remedy their product. SBD would have been selling the same subpar neoprene if it wasn't for Inzer.
I'm sorry you feel that way. SBD has made and continues to make more investments into powerlifting than any other company. Besides all the athletes they sponsor with money and equipment, they also put on the Sheffield, giving away hundreds of thousands in travel, accommodation, and prize. As someone who has used sleeves from SBD since the very first batch we brought in in 2013, they haven't changed them. There are variances in neoprene for sure, and SBD continues to try to tighten those tolerances.
My momentum powerlifting knee sleeves just came in today.. comparing it with the ogs i have.. it is definitely nearly half an inch longer.. could be b/c i had the ogs for a while and washed it a few times and i haven't even broken in the new ones?
XL might be too big. I wear XL in the original SBDs and my knee is 16” and 18” calves. I have another pair of L and i was using them when my calves were 17” but now they are hard to get on.
Being using rigor mortis for about 2 months and im thinking to get myself a pair of sbd because of the fact that i prefer a more comfortable sleeve and not stiff pair do you think will be a good idea for me to purchase them?
I'm not familiar with the A7 sleeves, sorry. I personally find the Powerlifting Sleeves to be not too uncomfortable, although noticeably more compressive than the original.
It depends on a few factors, including if you let them air out while they dry, that can keep them pretty fresh. Normally every couple of months should be sufficient.
Hello Ryan, I want to buy my first knee pads, I have a calf size of 41 and a knee size of 41.5, I am 1.75 tall and weigh 93 kg, SBD told me that I could wear up to size L, what do you think?
Hello Ryan, thanks for the video. What is the reason of stiffening with use? Some sort of thermal ageing? Is it from personal experience or is it something that SBD reports ? Thank you
@@InnerStrengthProducts thanks Ryan, that's is reasonable, because indeed thermal ageing is quite common on polymers and particularly in rubbers like neoprene, even if I don't have data about minimum ageing temperatures. Regards.
you really sized down and it was a good fit? i measure at the tail end of a Medium. i have Smalls in the OGs and they're a perfect fit.. also easy to get on and off.. got these powerlifting ones also in a Small but it was just way too small.. couldn't even get it on.. returned it for Mediums..@@HeshamAlshaibi

Please make video on inzer knee sleeve
We will try to in the future.

I would probably recommend no smaller than the small as I think you'll have issues getting them over your calves.
My knee measures 15" so the chart says L. In th the old style I train in a M and have competed in a S. Would the M be right for me? Thanks Ryan
Hey Todd, you can try to size down to the Medium, they can be much tougher to get on and off than the standard 7mm though.
@InnerStrengthProducts what size were you wearing at 3:56?
Those are a size XL, smaller than I would normally want to wear.
@@InnerStrengthProductsok👍
It's strange for me because the sbd powerlifting knee sleeves XXL size are decently tight, but the XL can't fit on my knee because they're too tight.
I'm sorry to hear that. They aren't quite as forgiving for sizing down as the original sleeves.
@@InnerStrengthProducts After watching your video on how to fold them to fit the knee i realized that size XL is perfect for me so thank you for the quality videos you put on youtube. You guys are awesome. 👏👏
How do these compare to inzer sleeves?
As mentioned they are not as stiff as the Inzer sleeves, rather they are designed to provide maximal compression on the joint throughout the entire range of motion of a squat, rather than having issues with the sleeve gapping at the bottom.
I use rigor mortis S should i use S on sbd or size down?
Sorry I'm not sure how the size compares. What is your knee and calf measurement?
I bought mine of a market space, im used to very stiff sleeves and i was a little surprised by how soft these felt. The tag in my SBD's says 'sbd power knee sleeves' are these the same from ur video?
Yes that is the same sleeve. They aren't the same as a stiff sleeve, they are more of a compression sleeve.
Hello i have the original SBD sleeve in size L should i size up or stay with the same size?
It depends on how hard the large are to get on now, if they aren't too bad then stick with the large.
My knee joint is 40cm, my calves is 43cm. I bought size L and it stuck at the top of my calves. Can you suggest which size will give me comfortable fit ? XL or 2XL ?
If you can get them that close to getting then the XL should be okay, but even the 2XLarge will likely be compressive but more comfortable.
I was wondering what the main differences are and if these sleeves would be worth purchasing.

Thanks so much for the kind words.

Hello is there any difference in SBD regular knee sleeves vs SBD powerlifting knee sleeves??
Length wise ?
Length wise there is no difference, the other differences, like denser material are covered in this video.
My momentum powerlifting knee sleeves just came in today.. comparing it with the ogs i have.. it is definitely nearly half an inch longer.. could be b/c i had the ogs for a while and washed it a few times and i haven't even broken in the new ones?
@@IamLEGENDkb24 it's possible that the ones you've had for a while, if very tight, have stretched laterally which will decrease their length a bit.
My knee joint is 43cm, would an XL be fine? I’m used to tighter fitting sleeves.
You might be okay in the XLarge, however I'm concerned they might be too tight and hard to get off. I would recommend the 2XLarge.
My knees are 38.1cm in circumference and my calves are 36.8cm. Would you recommend a medium or large knee sleeve?
For a first pair I'd recommend a large.
My knee joint is 15in and my calves are 16. Would a size XL be fine?
XL might be too big. I wear XL in the original SBDs and my knee is 16” and 18” calves. I have another pair of L and i was using them when my calves were 17” but now they are hard to get on.
I have a 15.5 knee and 16.5 calf and XL fit perfect
i have 15,5 knee and 16,5 and i use a L size with the new sbd, they are easy to put on
The large or Xlarge would be a good choice. If it's your first pair of sleeves I would go with Xlarge.
Being using rigor mortis for about 2 months and im thinking to get myself a pair of sbd because of the fact that i prefer a more comfortable sleeve and not stiff pair do you think will be a good idea for me to purchase them?

Hi, how often do you recommend washing the sleeves? I train 3 days/week. Thanks!
It depends on a few factors, including if you let them air out while they dry, that can keep them pretty fresh. Normally every couple of months should be sufficient.
Thanks for the review ! I have the old ones in size S and it is not easy to put them on, but it is doable. Should I stick with S or go M ?
If the old ones are hard to get on in Small, I would recommend going up to the Medium.

I wouldn't suggest smaller than an XLarge in the Powerlifting knee sleeves. In the original 7mm you could probably get by with the Large.
Hello Ryan, thanks for the video. What is the reason of stiffening with use? Some sort of thermal ageing? Is it from personal experience or is it something that SBD reports ? Thank you
It's a property of neoprene I have been told by SBD, and have observed myself.
@@InnerStrengthProducts thanks Ryan, that's is reasonable, because indeed thermal ageing is quite common on polymers and particularly in rubbers like neoprene, even if I don't have data about minimum ageing temperatures. Regards.
My knees are about 44.5 cm, and this would be my first pair of knee sleeves. with this in mind, which size would you recommend I get?
I would recommend going with the 3XLarge with your measurements and the fact that they are your first pair of sleeves.
