In my opinion, looking at both the “We’re both looking for something” from Ahri and the “Even the wind has a path” line from Yone, what’s suppose to be implied is that Yasuo is looking for his new path, since he made peace with his past he is heading to Bilgewater to find his new purpose in life. Also I may be reading too deep, but in the legend of the two brothers the older brother was supposed to stay in their homeland and defend it, while the younger would be a hero abroad. After this cinematic Yone will be defending Ionia from demons, while Yasuo will be finding a new path out in the world.
if this was the old days it would mean the league of legends, but just like other champions, taliyah, sylas, are moving around runeterra, never fix to one place unless they have to like the freljord queens or shadow isle champions
I think we can relate that to Jax and his quest to gather warriors to face the Void as well. Because now that Yasuo is whole as a person, facing a Lovecraftian horror would be a nice way to continue his quest.
Fun little detail: the place where Yasuo killed Yone is the exact same place seen in the flashback when they were kids. Notice the 2 tall slim structures and the small river.
Regarding what Ahri is looking for: In the short story A Fair Trade, Ahri learns that a person named Ymelo crafted the two gemstones she has in her possession, but doesn't know where they originate from. The person named Ymelo apparently was last seen in a tavern, gambling with one of theses gemstones - which could possibly have taken place in Bildgewater. So Ahri is probably looking for him to learn more about her past.
He doesnt just call him Yasuo, He calls him the great Yasuo meaning that after the charges that were previously pressed against him, for killing the elder, were lifted upon Riven's confession and cleared his name. Notice also how hes in a public place wearing nothing to hide his identity (which he does in the previous installments), surely the people from Ionia going to collect the souls of their dead relatives would've heard of Yasuo and he would try to be more subtle about it. Finally, seeing how hes completely unphased that he's recognised and called by his name clears the fact that he's now used to walk freely in Ionia.

After Riven exiled herself, she eventually confessed to the people of Ionia about her crime which she didnt really intend to. She was forgiven and given community service as punishment 4. At this point, Yasuo has cleared his name 5. Yasuo then convinced himself to face his past. He met with Yone with this cinematic 6. Yasuo travelled to Bilgewater with Ahri 7. Yasuo came back to contribute in fighting with Irelia (Awaken). Yasuo, the Redeemed Clearly the scar on his nose was from his fight with Yone and that scar is already present in Awaken cinematic. Now it makes sense.

Too bad he royally fails. Ahri dumps him as soon as they arrive and spends the rest of the game saving his ass (both physically and psychologically). The most he does during the game is use his wind on the ship's sails, and even then he can't do it without Ahri's help... Sure hope she didn't pay him for that service 😂
It’s a nice little detail that at the end of the cinematic, when Yasuo looks at his blade it’s clean of the dried blood. Partially because it was physically cleaned in the river earlier and partially to symbolize that he was finally able to “clean” himself of his regrets. And when Ahri says he “can decide his own fate” Yasuo looks at his clean blade showing that he’s “starting-over” and he can decide whether or not to keep it clean or stain it with blood. Or maybe I’m reading too much into it. Who knows lol
Do you think jhins mask is an azakana? Technically they refer to jhin as a “demon” and his voice lines says that “his mask was made better then most” so maybe he got it from an azakana that was slain or maybe his own azakana or a possibility that’s how he wants to be seen like, as an azakana?
Afaik Jhin wears that because he wants to be seen as an Azakana for shock factor, but isn't actually in any way demonic. Which is why the Kinkou order initially wanted to hunt him down but after they caught him were like "oh wait this is just a human" (and I'm assuming the Kinkou are good enough at perceiving demons that they would catch that).
What i think about jhin's mask is that jhin was inspired by an azakana he met before, he might accidentally kill it, make him became crazy, feel the beauty of dead.
You can also see in the cinematic that it was his brother who gave Yasuo the scar he has across his nose. It's easy to miss cause they didnt include any gore or blood sprays. It's not shown here either. But you can see it in the original cinematic when Yone uses both swords to break one of the swords Yasuo picked from the ground.
Maybe the blood on Yasuo’s sword was Yone’s and Yasuo didn’t want to clean Yone’s blood from his sword, because he held himself responsible for Yone’s death
My favourite part of this is that in the end Yasuo and Yone lived out the intended lives of the younger and the older brother. The older, Yone, a hero at home, and the younger, Yasuo, a hero abroad. Also in the market i think Ahri glances at Yasuo when he starts following the demon
about the Ahri part: definitively not. i wished that you were right, but it doesnt match. ahris cloak is clearly segmented into three parts hanging over eachother, but the woman that glances at yasuo is wearing a cloak that is not segmented whatsoever
@@mitko3329 when i said the intended lives of the brothers i meant the brothers from the legend. And that at the end of the cinematic Yone and Yasuo started living like the brothers of legend were supposed to before the collector corupted them. With Yasuo leaving Ionia and Yone staying to protect it.
14:10 I think what the demon meant when he said "Your honor brought him here", was how Yasuo came to the spirit blossom festival trying to communicate with one of the dead, probably Yone. Likely this was to justify his actions and explain himself to his brother, so he would regain his honor. So, Yone is only there because Yasuo wanted his honor back. 21:30 I would guess that Yasuo is now searching a purpose and since he couldn't find it in Ionia, he left the island. Though I'm puzzled why he would want to go to Bilgewater.
In one of the old story's the duel was different , yone and yasuo draw their swords and when the moment came yasuo natural skill make him cut yone down with a single strike will yone fail the attack leaving him a scar
I really liked the contrasting art styles between the flashback and the present/future. I thought that the fight in the beginning was fluid and beautifully animated, to feel like the sword fighting was really flowing, like a dance, whereas the fight between Yasuo+Yone and the demon was fast and colorful. It was an excellent cinematic done by riot, tons of small details in the animation, beautifully done. All the artists who worked on this piece deserve praise for their hard work and meticulous efforts.
The only thing I didn't like in the flashbacks were their facial details. For some reason, Yasuo's facial features look completely different in every single cinematic/high quality official art (5+) which he has been in so far. I'd just like them to stick to 1 face, preferably his splash art face, but that's up to them to decide. Edit: in the non flashback more polished art style of this cinematic he looks good imo as it's super close to his splash art
I believe that the "we're both looking for something" coming from Ahri, has more a meaning linked to the story "The path" in which the nine tails fox is looking to guide the dead through the gate. Being that Yasuo is still alive, the fox never got to bring his soul to the other side. So the part of Ahri that is the gatekeeper is trying to complete the mission
I think on top of Yone's failure to teach Yasuo restraint, when Yone says "I won't fail you again" at the beginning, he's referencing when they fought earlier (later in the video), and Yasuo leaves his post to fight the Noxians, and Yone says "It seems I have already failed you". Pretty neat how they tied all these details together.
@@ChincerDante On the other hand the trailer is was what literally happened with yone in the spirit realm and this is confirmed by his champion insight , so this means that the legend isn't something that repeats itself but rather a representation of Yone's personal spirit journey through the legend....because in the legend they both kill each other anyway
But none of those demons are in Ionia so Yone doesn't know of them. Also doesn't Yone specifically say he is after those minor parasitic demons (Azakan) since they have plagued Ionia from the Noxian war
@@AgentAC1998 Yeah Fiddle, Eve, and Nocturne are full-fledged demons, so Yone isn't specifically targeting them. Tho I don't think he'll be chill about them running amok.
The spirit blossom event is so massive, this is honestly more than i ever expected. Riot will have a hard time topping this one but then again that's what i thought about oddesey ,who knows.
Well I don't think that its the demon neccesarily (If thats what you meant already anyway then i'm just null) But I think thats what the demon tried to look like, they got abunch of them Greenglade elders, rice farner lookin' mf
2:48 "yasuo was always impatient, and he always rushed everywhere and he wanted to do things quickly"... the only thing missing in that description is "flashing his lv 7 mastery"
14:05 I interpreted that as him talking to yone. Yone's honor brought Yasuo there. For the same reason Yasuo said that Yone's honor stains the ground, all of these events played out and led him to that point. And in the end Yone still had the same response to what was essentially the same statement questioning his honor.
The line, "Your honour brought him hear" is most likely directed at Yone. It was Yone's honour that forced him to persue Yasuo and dual him, so in a sense Yone's honour is part of the reason Yasuo is where he is right now. Yone's response, "better than living without it", is again hammering home his resolve that regardless of how miserable his honour makes those around him, he will never throw it away.
Honestly I am glad that we have people like Necrit. Mostly because Riot is creating a whole universe with all that confusing stuff like magic and...well there are shores of information that we don't see or don't bother to look for, so I think that its great that there is someone who is bothering with finding this for us. We can't thank you enough for all that you have accomplished over the years.
I think Ahri is looking for the maker of the amulet she has on her. In one of her stories, she is able to get a glance at someone that has a similar necklace and they are described as having butterfly eyes which technically includes Graves and Gangplank, but my guess is that they would know as they are treasure seekers. Also, my guess as to the cast of the Ruined King game, if it is a tactical RPG like FF Tactics, probably include Lucian, Senna, Miss Fortune, Graves, Fate, Ahri, Yasuo, and maybe a couple other Bilgewater champs depending on if it is like XCOM where the field only has a few units, or FF Tactics with a decent number of members
As you were talking about looking at the backround whole time, in Season 2019: A New Journey | League of Legends cinematic there were hits for valorant.BTW i just open up 9anime and there was a fk Shaman king (2021) remake probably I think.
"You don't have anything to prove." I think this is b/c Yasuo is considered a bastard child (conceived out of wedlock and his father left) and was rejected by his community. Yone, as his half-brother, was conceived in wedlock and was accepted by the community. He didn't need to prove anything to them. Yone's reaction is due to his shock and sadness for Yasuo for speaking those words. Yasuo is constantly trying to "prove" to others, and to himself, that his existence has worth. "Your honor brought him here." I think this is b/c Yone taught his values, such as honor, to Yasuo. Yasuo, after killing his brother, was bound by honor, the concept Yone instilled in him, to accept punishment for his crimes. In this case, Yasuo believed his brother, even as a spirit, was the one who should pass judgment on him. That's why Yasuo is "here" at the Spirit Festival, b/c of the "honor" that Yone drilled into him.
I think yasuo is looking for a purpose since before he was thinking about his past but now that that’s settled he’s probably doesn’t know what to do next
You could say when Yasuo protects the old man as an analogy/metaphor of Yasuo not letting go of his past or regrets or sticking with his old self and getting flashbacks of Yone attacking him brings back the past where he feels his older brother doesn't see his side nor feels like his older brother doesn't understand Yasuo as to take time out and understand Yasuo for what had happened. When Yone says "I'm not here for you", you can understand using that analogy as Yone still after Yasuo for his past especially when the demon "your honour brought you here" referring to the past where Yasuo feels as his older brother failed his duties as well to protect the country and how his honour destroyed their relationship which they came to blows because his "honour" might as well be Yone's ego of being the know it all. When Yasuo attacks the demon he even refers that his not going to run anymore and face his "past" and acknowledge that he should've done somethings and get over it, to move on from his past. I'm not the best when trying to analyze something like this but I see this scene and heavily get that feeling. 12:21
If you put attention to the blood on his blade, it has the same reflections and texture as the metal, implying that no matter how hard Yasuo could try to clean it, the blood of Yone and Yasuo's guild are part of the balde. When he washes it on the river, he let's go of his guilt, and forgives himself, freeing the blood of the sword.
yeah didn't they say with the sisterhood of war that riven would be actually captured like in the awaken cinematic ? Yasuo would be the most suited to come to get her
I dont think he is going to save her, cause he doesn't know her situation. I think that she will find her way out of Noxus and eventually find him .Or he will help her once he hears she is in trouble
Nah yasuo doesnt care about her, she kinda ruined his life and all she got was "ok, go farm in lane or you get banned". I'd like to see riven interact with Irelia since she is at the center of the rebellion.
11:12 OmG!! The Festival Shrine in-game Board music really sync to the Flashback scene!! I'm cryinggg!!😭😭 >< btw i cant wait for Rakan & Xayah storyyy!
I wish i was early to commented this.. And perhaps only me qho feels the same wayy~ i usually hates Yasuo.. BUT THIS.( 11:13 ).. MAKES ME FEEL Sooooo Warm in my heart...
It may take a couple stories, but I have a feeling that Yasuo and Riven will meet up again whether intentionally or not. I'm leaning toward unintentionally, but we'll see.
Same I mean riot when make sorakas dawn/night bringer seem to low key enjoy that people who didn't ship them yet start to do it so. Because riot never stood up to clarify that miss understood and maybe they want to expand on more romantic things in league
The way I see it, the quote at 13:50 ~ 14:05 is probably directed at both brothers: "Souma's greatest pupil, what a disappointment" is probably directed at Yasuo, in reference to him being the only one who learned the wind technique, as well as in him losing to Yone in this fight, while "and your honour brought him here" is probably directed at Yone. This could be taken in a more general sense where "here" refers to Yasuo's state in general - Yone's honour bound him to his duties, spurring Yasuo to take proactive action in killing the Noxians instead of defending Elder Souma as Yone's "honour" would dictate (at least, that's how I'd interpret Yasuo saying "Your honour stains the ground" at the beginning of the animation), which is what begins Yasuo's disgrace. In a more direct sense, Yone's honour forced him to chase down Yasuo and "bring him to justice", which lead to his death and Yasuo being filled with grief and regret. "Here" would then refer to what we see in the animation, Yasuo being preyed upon by this Azakana.
I really hope you make a video on Xayah and Rakan's new story. You always do such an amazing job explaining everything and I would love to watch that video if you ever end up making one! I love you so much and thank you for all your time and effort you put into all your content!

Well, bilge water being the lawless place of Runeterra probably hosts many people that know many thins, so if you are totally out of any kind of starting point, a place with many people holding many secrets and news, could be the perfect starting point for any quest... At this rate, Yasuo quest could be anything, from finding out about his brother coming back to life, to anything else, maybe as you mentioned, traveling to a place where spirits litterally inhabit the mortal realm
Probably the traveling to Blige water happens time after yasuo helped on the Ionia defense , and i maybe he know that riven got captured and it's going after her , and also going to help taliyah in shurima or maybe even searching his father
This is oneof the memory Ahri obtained in the story "A fair trade" ...In a seedy tavern, a raucous group played cards. A man with eyebrows resembling butterfly wings gambled a golden Ymelo stone while Hirin watched from the shadows… Ymelo are those shiny gems she carries, the only link to her tribe. And well, in what place do one gamble if not Bilgewater?
In the end of the cinematic with the Ahri and Yasuo when the camera goes to the moon you can hear a pretty similar sound of bilgwater arround 10;06 and 10;08. Does this mean anything?
Necrit, you forgot your mention how when Yone disappeared he said “may the spirit of Ionia guide you.” Maybe somehow Ahri is there by coincidence but may end up helping Yasuo as he goes to Bilgewater, much like the fox leads spirits to the tree
My head canon after the cinematic is that Ahri will develop into one of the most powerful figures of Ionia and maybe Runeterra. She's based of real world legends of the 9 tailed fox which were powerful entities in folklore, but of course in League lore she has no idea what she is, where she came from, but she's been around for a very long time from what she knows, which means she has a long history before "history" so she's probably ancient as heck and ancient tends to equate to powerful in League lore.
"Yasuo was always impatient, and he always rushed everywhere and wanted to do everything quickly" *sees Yasuo players dashing 14 times in a fight* Yep that sounds accurate.
I think that Yone and Yasuo are reincarnations of the two legendary brothers, and when Yone died in the last video and the cinematic begins we see Yone in his spiritual form wich is one of the two brothers, I mean, the spirit blossom skin from Yone is his true spirit, one of the legendary brothers, thats why when Yone enters in the collectors realm and watch his death, the brother who kills him is exactly like Yasuo, because it is the fight we saw in this cinematic, but he is seeing himself as his true self (spirit blossom skin/legendary brother) OH! and the demon was talking to Yone
I think the analysis of the flashback scene at 8:09 to when they were kids is slightly off. Fighting to defend yourself isn't necessarily dishonorable. Rather, it's because Yasuo was enjoying the fight to an extent (he mentions how he was winning), that was dishonorable. When Yasuo calls Yone out for "not having anything to prove", Yone's eyes widen, which makes me think his reaction is less about any sort of system and more based on pure emotion, so I don't think the things about wind technique or the school is correct. That isn't to say that I do know what the correct reasoning for Yone's reaction is, but it may be more along the lines of being the elder brother meant there was a lot of pressure on Yone to be proper and to follow the rules, regardless of what Yone himself may want.
this is why I think Legends of Runeterra is a good predictor of champions. In the game, Yone has the title "Windchaser" referencing how he pursues Yasuo. However, LoR doesn't give out titles just to have them, they mark a character's specific point in time, such as Senna, who will one day presumably be a champion card, but right now is simply a rare card in her human state, with a title to discriminate between the Senna of the past and the one that will eventually be added in the future. The same thing applies to Cithria, who appears on three different cards each with a different title to determine three different points in her life. Applying this logic, that a title denotes a character who will also appear at a different point in their life, then it should have been obvious that Yone, with his title, would reappear in a different form

Uuuhh I might be wrong but I think you messed them up.
The brothers in the legend were supposed to be the heroes.
@@mitko3329 when i said the intended lives of the brothers i meant the brothers from the legend. And that at the end of the cinematic Yone and Yasuo started living like the brothers of legend were supposed to before the collector corupted them.
Riot: post a cinematic
Necrit: I am speed
A cool easter egg is, that Yasuo got his cut on the nose from Yone’s double sword attack at the start of the cinematic.
@@randomname8616 yeah, they struggle with that for sure
I believe that the "we're both looking for something" coming from Ahri, has more a meaning linked to the story "The path" in which the nine tails fox is looking to guide the dead through the gate. Being that Yasuo is still alive, the fox never got to bring his soul to the other side. So the part of Ahri that is the gatekeeper is trying to complete the mission
Maybe Yasuo's looking for Gragas' lore.

I feel like 1:52-2:00 is the connection between the line "You could have saved them" in "The Path: An Ionian Myth"
Is that you mention it, yeah, makes a ton of sense. Especially considering the demon that was haunting Yone
it is likely one of those "history always repeat itself" the story of the two brothers being an old telling that just keep happening

And in the end Yone still had the same response to what was essentially the same statement questioning his honor.

Daym, it is so cool having people like Necrit. I personally love learning about the "behind the scenes." Good vid!
Yone: Why are you running?

As you were talking about looking at the backround whole time, in Season 2019: A New Journey | League of Legends cinematic there were hits for valorant.BTW i just open up 9anime and there was a fk Shaman king (2021) remake probably I think.
Ahri might be still looking for her past and more specifically the Ymelo stones, since that was the only clue she had from what we know of her story
"You don't have anything to prove."
I think this is b/c Yasuo is considered a bastard child (conceived out of wedlock and his father left) and was rejected by his community.
"Your honor brought him here."
I think this is b/c Yone taught his values, such as honor, to Yasuo.
Ahri is looking for her past, but Yasuo is looking for his future

Yay, was waiting for this.
Also damn, how did you make this so quick?
If you put attention to the blood on his blade, it has the same reflections and texture as the metal, implying that no matter how hard Yasuo could try to clean it, the blood of Yone and Yasuo's guild are part of the balde. When he washes it on the river, he let's go of his guilt, and forgives himself, freeing the blood of the sword.
I think Yasuo is trying to save Riven, but he need to find her
yeah didn't they say with the sisterhood of war that riven would be actually captured like in the awaken cinematic ? Yasuo would be the most suited to come to get her
I dont think he is going to save her, cause he doesn't know her situation. I think that she will find her way out of Noxus and eventually find him .Or he will help her once he hears she is in trouble
Is that why he's going to Bilgewater? To find the person captured and taken to Noxus?

Demon Hunter Shen is coming
And so zed
@@kgzezioauditore563 He was a kinkou once but idk if he will get one :p
The way I see it, the quote at 13:50 ~ 14:05 is probably directed at both brothers:
"Souma's greatest pupil, what a disappointment" is probably directed at Yasuo, in reference to him being the only one who learned the wind technique, as well as in him losing to Yone in this fight, while
"and your honour brought him here" is probably directed at Yone.
This is probably another thing Shen has in his "deal with" list.
Guy can't catch a break.

15:28 this part here still confuses me. Does his azakana blade BECOME the mask or can he just summon and unsummon the azakana sword at will?
Probably the traveling to Blige water happens time after yasuo helped on the Ionia defense , and i maybe he know that riven got captured and it's going after her , and also going to help taliyah in shurima or maybe even searching his father
Spoiler: Ahri finds Darius and friends in the forest so they start beating each other
This is oneof the memory Ahri obtained in the story "A fair trade"
...In a seedy tavern, a raucous group played cards. A man with eyebrows resembling butterfly wings gambled a golden Ymelo stone while Hirin watched from the shadows…
Ymelo are those shiny gems she carries, the only link to her tribe.
And well, in what place do one gamble if not Bilgewater?
In the end of the cinematic with the Ahri and Yasuo when the camera goes to the moon you can hear a pretty similar sound of bilgwater arround 10;06 and 10;08. Does this mean anything?
Wow I watched you years back. Now you sound so much more incredibly enthusiastic xD
Necrit, you forgot your mention how when Yone disappeared he said “may the spirit of Ionia guide you.” Maybe somehow Ahri is there by coincidence but may end up helping Yasuo as he goes to Bilgewater, much like the fox leads spirits to the tree
I tought that Ahri is known as a demon/legend in Ionia. Or was that her old story....
Finally been waiting all this morning for this video to come out by you
"Yasuo was always impatient, and he always rushed everywhere and wanted to do everything quickly" *sees Yasuo players dashing 14 times in a fight* Yep that sounds accurate.
the old man in the cinematic looks almost identical to "Greenglade Elder", an Ionian card from LoR
"yasou quickly rush into everything"
That is so accurate. Most in my games, I always find yasou players tower diving and getting 1/7 lol
Riot: makes cinematic
Necrit: I'm speed
This event is really smth else for the Lore Fanatics, huh?
"Yasuo was always hotheaded, and he quickly rushes into everything"
Seems accurate
Yas whole plot in one sentence:
Then, why... are you running? 【・_・?】
Why are you running? WhY ARe you RunniNG
this is why I think Legends of Runeterra is a good predictor of champions.
