Neither candidate seems fully up to the task of course-correcting GA’s embarrassing education system. Woods has had years to enact change and has underperformed (in an admittedly challenging environment for education), but Searcy seems naive and dodged important questions. I am inclined to vote for Searcy because she seems more aware of teachers’ needs, and has a vigor Woods lacks; she also appears to possess an understanding of key performance metrics Woods has failed to address in his 8 years (his obsession with reducing mandatory testing seems intended to conceal GA’s poor test scores by sweeping them under the rug). However, I’m unconvinced Searcy is going to move things in the right direction - it sounds like she is focused more on test taking than learning. Overall, disappointing candidates…

Both of them are a joke.
