It was to late for that there were no shops opened it was getting dark and I had no feeler gauge and no descent light might I add that just my cell phone so I followed the steps in the video and loosen them off I wiggled the adjuster to it was loose enough then tightened it up I done all of them like that I finished it started the car up again and it worked thanks for video it help out big time mate I didn't use a feeler gauge and my cars going better then it ever.
Hi, I have a 93 toyota tercel 1.5 liter and I cant seem to get the nuts loose so I can turn the adjuster...the car has 160k miles on it and has never had a valve adjustment. Is there a trick to getting them loose ??? its fragile I dont want to damage the valve train...thanks
Engines for 1E, is the same form of calibration, and if the three valves, carried the same calibration, in this case for the 1E, .200 mm, i could help, thanks
What should be the clearance if engine is cold ? Also what if after adjustment, the "takatak" sound is still there? What's the minimum clearance I can go just to be sure it's not the valve clearance making the "takatak" sound on my engine?
I have the same motor as u and the tapered was rattling bad when going up hills and starting off changing up to second gear I thought I would tighten them all up I and I did when I finish it all and started the car it wouldn't go. panic started setting in someone told me before I worked on the and later when I stuffed it up I had to set it up exactly like the video and I had to have a feeler gauge bugger.
Does anyone have the order, or at least the specs for the 1GRFE 4.0 V6, more specifically a 2004 4runner? I lost my footing and a few of the valve tappets fell out and I don’t know where they go, lol. Any help is appreciated!!
Thanks for the reply but the "takatak" sound doesn't disappear even after long driving. Adjustment already done by two different mechanic but the sound is still there. That's why this time I want to do it myself.
I adjusted light the way you did, now my valve rattle like crazy. Though I can feel some more power gain from following the correct 0.20mm gap measurement. Do I need to change my oil also? I've been using conventional oil so maybe thats the reason.
@@playstation2bigs alright I'm gonna do it again, before I've been doing it after I warmed up the engine as the label says it's must be HOT. Is it the correct way?
Ten seconds of info spread over five minutes of shaky video. Why was it more important to hear dog barking and roosters crowing instead of saying something intelligent on valve adjustment?
tomking505 isn't this necessary to have video editing skills with his mechanical skills? I guess he has helped a lot of people by uploading this video. Try to appreciate someone's effort. Peace.

How do you turn the camshaft if they are not at the correct angle before adjustment did you just use a wrench and turned it?
Thank you

Puwede rin ba na worn out na yung valve springs kapag na adjust na tapos may lagitik parin?
492,085 miles!! Wow. They really do last forever!!!!
Mine also have 467,356miles
@@captainunderpants936 looks like I got a long way to go before my 1E dies then. 60000 miles
@@JakeEP70 Jip that's for sure .
nice video -do you now cold engine measuring valve?
Look kids, this is old footage of valves that were Easily adjusted, unlike the nightmarish shims the so called engineers came up with later.
That engine still working, running up today
Ok lang magadjust sir sa malamig na engine?

seem my 4runner doesn't have the adjustment. I have shims and is very pain... seem that older car has the adjuster than the newer engine built?
Hello, where are you located Sir? Can I have my 2e engine tuned by you? I'm from Cavite by the way. Thank you in advance and God bless!

Valve must not rattle, no noisy valve heard when engine in normal temperature
You adjusted the valve clearance incorrectly,
