Hey! I just got this oven only it’s the 70L one! I set the temperature to 180 degrees but it still keeps rising even when it hits this? Did you have any issue with this can’t find anyone to ask!
Thank you for shipping my ceramic tiles so well packaged along with the bags. I bought them because I saw you used them in a convection oven. I’m wasting my tiles and bags trying to find the best time and temperature combination. What is the best time and temperature for your tiles and your bags in a convection oven? Please give me Customer Support/answer here. I’m sure others will also benefit from reading your answers. Thank you.
Bren, it will depend on the convection oven you are working with. We would recommend starting with 400F, 10 minutes. If you receive slight fading throughout the tile, we would then recommend our silicone pad to help distribute the heat a bit better across the tile surface: www.coastalbusiness.com/sublimation-heating-pad-for-hard-surfaces-wrap1822-s.html
You're welcome! Normally when testing, with an oven only, we usually increase our time in 30 second to 1 minute increments depending on how close we are to our desired outcome.
Hi there, how do you manage to get a decent print close to the handles on the mug? Not having much joy this end. Bag doesn’t shrink to that bit because of the handle
Unfortunately with mugs you need to leave approximately a half an inch on each side of the handle. There is not any solution that we have that allows it to butt up to the handle and maintain the pressure needed for the transfer.
Would you recommend using these bags on a plate? I don't have an attachment to my heat press that would allow me to do plates, but I could do them in a convection oven if this works on plates. Thanks
Great question. When using a plate, with the heat shrink bags, the bag actually tents on the center of the plate causing transferring issues, since pressure is not being applied to the Sublimation transfer. The heat shrink bags are not recommended for a plate. Thank you!
@@CoastalBusinessSup what if you put something heave on it like a bag of dirt or something lol maybe not dirt but something that is movable that will cover the entire surface of the plate?
Hello! We have tested with the heat shrink bags, onto Ceramic ornaments, but we were unable to get a successful transfer. When pressing on a heat press, we would always recommend a foam pillow, and the sublimation heating pad for hard surfaces.
A blow dryer does not get hot enough. Heat guns are almost less expensive than a blow dryer. About $15 at Harbor Freight or Home Depot/Lowe's. Also - really should use a heat resistant glove or gloves. That heat gun gets HOT
Hello! We are working with a standard convection oven in this video. We would recommend only placing two medium size items, or 4 smaller sized items in the oven, on the shelf at one time. Temperature will drop drastically. Thank you!
That is a good question. In theory it would work as long as there is a blower evenly distributing the heat and it is able to reach 400 degrees fahrenheit. Preheat then add mugs or other items. Since we do not have experience with this it would be something that you would need to experiment with until you find the right combination that works with your situation.
Hello! With the Sublimation process, you will need a Sublimation printer, and ink. We sell the Sawgrass models, and the Epson F570 for small format printing.
Phil, this is a standard oven our vendor had supplied us with. We would recommend the HIX counter top oven, most general toaster ovens, or a dedicated convection oven. We have also used an Oyster oven in some of our videos with success!
Hi Sven! This is a standard oven our vendor had supplied us with. We would recommend the HIX counter top oven, most general toaster ovens, or a dedicated convection oven.
Hi Kassandra! Did you do a full wrap on the tumbler with Sublimation paper? Is the tumbler set away from the primary heating element? Have you adjusted your settings for less time? If you would like, please also email pictures, a reference of your order number, and detailed information to support@coastalbusiness.com.
Hello! We have not tested this, but, as long as the item has a polyester coating, and will not melt when transferring, the heat shrink bag should work.

Last question can the excess that’s being cut off be used as well
Yes, but you need to have it wrap all the way around and seal when using heat gun. You don’t want any holes or it won’t work.
What kind of oven is that? Would it be good for strengthening a purse with iron in stabilizers?
Hi! It is basically a convection type oven. I am not sure about strengthening a purse as we have never tested that.
Hello great video I have a question can I use a regular oven?
They said you can use a regular oven, but convection is better.
I know this was a two years ago question. But maybe it will help others.

Is the item you use dishwasher and microwave safe? After you shrink wrap and put on image?
Hi Robin! We pressed onto a coated ceramic mug. This mug is dishwasher, and microwave safe!
Will the heat from the heat gun cause the sublimation process to start, and possibly cause ghosting?
Hello! No, the heat gun does not get up to the temperature required for Sublimation, to start the process.
can you use the shrink wraps for say the ceramic ornaments as you can't always get the right amount of pressure on the presses for them

Can I use a stainless steel large mug to sub on? Non coated with sub material?
does this have to be a special shrink wrap for sublimation or all heat shrink materials the same?
Hello! The heat shrink material does need to be for Sublimation, to make sure the material can withstand the heat in the oven.
What was the temp on your oven?
Do you carry the oven you are using in yhe video? Would love to purchase one.
Hello! We do not stock this item. You can also use a standard toaster/convection oven as well!
Can you use a blow drier to shrink the wrap or do you need a heat gun?
Hi! It is better to use a heat gun versus a hair dryer
A blow dryer does not get hot enough. Heat guns are almost less expensive than a blow dryer. About $15 at Harbor Freight or Home Depot/Lowe's. Also - really should use a heat resistant glove or gloves. That heat gun gets HOT
What is the settings for the skinny tumblers and shit glasses on the oven and how long
Excellent video, thank you😁😁😁
Thank you for your feedback! :)
What oven are you using and how many items can you put in that oven before the oven losses temperature
Hello! We are working with a standard convection oven in this video. We would recommend only placing two medium size items, or 4 smaller sized items in the oven, on the shelf at one time. Temperature will drop drastically. Thank you!
What brand oven is that? If love more info
Can we use this technique for wine glasses with stems?
Hello! Yes, you can use the same technique.
whats the nameof the hot pistol you have in youer hands?
Hello! It is a heat gun. We purchased ours off of Amazon.
Thanks
Can I use that little scrap for another shot glass?
Hello! Yes, you could as long as the material shrinks properly around your transfer for proper pressure.
what temperature use for convection oven and how long
Hello! Time and temperature will vary on the item you are pressing. You can find instructions on our product pages for oven use.
Can I use a kiln?
That is a good question. In theory it would work as long as there is a blower evenly distributing the heat and it is able to reach 400 degrees fahrenheit. Preheat then add mugs or other items. Hello what kind of printer do I need?!

What are the images printed with?
Hi Sheri, the images in the video were printed with a Sublimation printer - the Sawgrass models in this video.
Can you do dog bowls?
Hello! While our shrink bags are not large enough for the dog bowls, you can certainly use.

why did my wrap melt all on my tumbler. totally destroying it. I used a small toaster oven 350 degrees 5 min

What temp for the convection oven
For 11 oz. mugs, we'd recommend 400 degrees for 12-15 minutes!
@@CoastalBusinessSup, what time & temp would you suggest for ceramic tile coasters in a convection oven?
What’s the temperature you would recommend for tumbler 8 oz or 11 oz?
