My interpretation of Earth being medieval in 2200 is not an alternate timeline of stalled technological advancement, but rather that it's the year 2200 of a different calendar than the Gregorian calendar we use. The same also applies for finding Earth in WWII.
I'm pretty sure that's what stellaris is suggesting. Anytime you find earth you are in the Milky Way, what state it's in suggests your galaxy's time range related to earth time. Medieval? Your game is in the 600-1400 CE range, WW2 is obvious, post apocalyptic is anywhere from 1960-2200 and finding them as an empire is obviously whatever year it is in game. I think it'd be cool if they added human stuff like a transgalactic human empire crisis or something when they aren't present in your galaxy
It is a version without the UK
In my opinion, the WW2 Earth is a reference to Harry Turtledove's series "World War", where a slow developping alien species discovers Earth in 1066, and arrives in 1943
Or we weren’t creative enough to think of any way but feudalism to colonize the stars
I wanted a unique galaxy setup set just after a long collapse of old humanity, Earth is a ruined relic world and all the others are lost colonies. The game can start around 12,200 AD
When I saw the WH40K timeline I was hoping we’d see the halo timeline as well since both universes are so interesting to learn and look at
Ahh i only ended up putting the 40k one in as it's so insanely popular with the playerbase.
in my headcanon, the two are connected lol
halo is too similar to just the base united nations earth honestly. not xenophobic, marginally democratic, strong technological advancment.
@@sovietunion7643 in my head canon, the UNE would slowly unify itself, fighting off many hostile aliens (modern halo era) and accepting many, before forming a mostly peaceful confederation with a completely unified mankind (star trek), later on other sci fi games and franchises would play out, but yeah
The unsc is actually somewhat fascist, according to the lore, I believe.
I petition for a deeper look into the human fallen Empire. We must know what happened humanity in that timeline to better prepare ourselves for any outcome that may be dangerous to our Empire.
Yeah especially an powerful human galactic empire fall to nothing but shadow of former self there must be something terrible happen cause the fall.
Knowing us, we made AI, treated it horribly, and then it proceeded to bludgeon us over the head for god only knows how long before being beaten back, leaving us as a shadow of our old selves.
They gave enlightened reddittors full power
Blame the Zenos, the mutant the heretic.. 😂😂😂
One of the fun thing I found out while tweaking with the game is that Sol ALWAYS spawn. BUT, it is always spawn last. So if ALL the system are taken, Sol will have no choice but to spawn in dead middle of the Galaxy, uninteractable and not even detectable most of the time UNLESS, you have the curator mission spawn to lead you to this exact co-ordinate. The auto-direct will lead you to the center of the universe, but again, you cant select it.
Perhaps, the second reality is where Sol somehow managed to be pushed to the center of the galaxy by some weird force of the universe.
As a modder, I can confidently say that there is no such thing as all systems being "taken" (unless I misunderstood your statement, if so do correct me). You can spawn as many systems as you want, and they can even spawn ontop of each other so there's no way to "run out" of space for them. Systems also can't be "hidden" or "undetectable", they're always there for everyone to see on the map.
Curator and situation log missions pointing you to an undetectable "system" at the center of the galaxy is actually just the result of a scoping error caused by the mission leading nowhere.
@@Elowiny So my understanding is that a system can only be a dragon system for example, and not dragon + stellar devourer at the same time.
There are also certain pattern of spawn, like the chosen always spawn with a set system around them.
Sanctuary (not fallen empire) will (sometimes) spawn in conjunction with those weird defender guys (Cant remember the name for the life of me, sorry).
A lot of these unique system have to have some sort of adjacency at the start of game as well, some are bound to be polar star stuff, other black hole.
If you crank the spawn rate of all unique system to max with modding the file, plus you add in the maximum number of empire + fallen empire + marauder, add in the sub empire and systems that is involved in some scenario as well. Now make sure adjacency allowed is turned off so the system is forced to give you some space in between empires so you cant be forced to be next to them, and you can fill up all 1000 system that is the maximum in a huge galaxy. Yes, there are that many content.
So by taken up here, I mean it is either an unique system, or system spawn made sure empire must have a healthy social distancing, resulting in some system not being able to spawn, one of which is Sol. Sol not being able to spawn in any system will default to the middle of the Galaxy, and can be seen there.
I think there is a reddit thread detailing this better, but at least that is how I have done it.
Now, as for the not selectable part, it happens on my end. For some reason there is not path leading to Sol, and while I can use the auto target from the Curator, which lead me to the galaxy core, I cannot select a system that doesnt appear on the map.
It might be a scoping error as you say, but the fact that it was about Sol led me to believe otherwise. I could be totally wrong about that though.
Further edit: I dont create mod file, I edit the file straight. I dont know if that can cause any weirdness, but I have never seen unique system piling on top of one another.
“Something pushed them to the centre of the galaxy” Aeternum moment
This is some "fuck you copernicus" type of shit right there
Ancient Cache of Technologies: "You have learned much Base Game Stellaris. But you still have many more to learn."
ACOT with submods: "Buying a 700kk fleet power ship for 800k energy and some coins... sounds interesting". Btw I'm referring to the fact that you can buy a Star Annihilator from Phanon Corps... which is of course not entirely broken and will not ascend your empire's fleet from type 2 (10-100kk fleet power) of Kardashev's scale up to type 2.5-3 (1kkk-10kkk fleet power). And it only has 500 energy and 500 alloys upkeep. Bought 10 of these and just eradicated them, despite the fact that they had about 5 billion fleet power in their system.
I do enjoy finding Tomb World Earth and raising up the pre-sentient Cockroaches so that they may inherit the world.
Funny as I found sol system and humans as primitives in medieval age in my current playthrough as necrophage. Literally only race I protect
As you should my fellow lordship!
As a Rogue Servitor when I discovered sol it was the only primitive planet I didn’t force its population into my bio trophies
What about the other Human Fallen Empire? Human can also spawn as the Xenophile FE, as it uses the UNE as a template. If you're super lucky, you can even get both human FEs in the same galaxy.
You can indeed!
I guess the CoE and UNE both stayed apart and started to dominate which is pretty cool to think about
Even though Base Game Stellaris still has not obtain the tier of potent power as the Blokkats and Stellarborne as of now, I think they would do pretty good against the Warp of Warhammer 40k in a conflict and defeat the Chaos gods.
Besides with a present all seeing immortal player who guides and the runs the empire all the time which no one can corrupt there is nothing the Chaos gods, Malice, Gork & Mork, Yssarile, Emperor, or the C'Tan, Necrons, and Tyranids can do to stop us without brute force. We are essentially a better version of Tzeentch not restrained by the Warp who has the resolve and absolute end goal of obtaining total pure victory and dominion.
Be afraid denizens of the Warp and despair before the Player's might.
It's like the Cameraman. You simply cannot stop them because for Stellaris to exist, the Player must exist. And for stellaris to be in 40K, the PLAYER must be in 40K. Same as like I said, the cameraman. For the video to exit, the cameraman must have survived and uploaded the video. NOTHING can stop them.
New Chaos God: the Weaver.
Powers: can orchestrate complex events and wars as though they were simply a game
The Emperor if he could see other timelines
4:50 this sounds like my CK2 playthrough when I let the game clock run into the late 2040s.
Very well done Doctor, I shall hope you Continue your research into these various snippets, and of course their technology...
Thank you so much King of Redness! I've been wondering what the lore was for Earth since I started playing Stellaris!
Happy to help :)
If you ever find enough for another vid like this, there's a Toxic God option to start in the Sol system.
Disappointed you didn't mention the cockroach's that can evolve on the tomb world Earth lel.
What about the timeline where an interstellar super empire Driven Assimilators known as the Combine invaded the earth before space travel?
Like synthetic dawm invasion in EU4?
@@wotanvonedelsburg1610 half life
Researcher's note: One timeline not included in the presentation has been flagged as a possible avenue of further research. This timeline's Earth appears to be surrounded by a peculiar energy shield and situated within the territory of a multi-species hegemony ruled by a race of predatory caterpillar-like insectoids. As our sensors were unable to pierce the shield, no further data on this version of Earth or the fate of its Human inhabitants can be offered at this time.
Cazadors from fallout took over.
As we approached the planet, however, a spherical red drone hailed us, broadcasting a message stating the following:
"You are trespassing within Ur-Quan space. This world, Earth, may not be approached for any reason. Nor will hostilities against our orbital platform be tolerated."
Since the drone was about to leave to inform the "Ur-Quan," we had no other option but to leave this timeline.
The Crythanium Was one of the failed colony ships that the Commonwealth of man ended up finding. The ship they originally arrived with was completely dismantled for parts for building.
Also, churches were like, the only places during the dark ages that was able to save books and documents and other sources of knowledge. Not to mention back in those times many religious figures were sources of technological advancement. Like how our knowlege of genetics started with a bishop expirimenting with breeding plants. What would be more accurate is saying that the world was unified religiously much earlier, rather than 'shedding it off'
No, the Chrysanthemum was the ship that bore the people who would become the CoM to Unity. It's quite explict in the text for the Hunt for the Hyacinth.
Brilliant! Thank you for making these videos, Stellaris lore is something there is not nearly enough of. :)
Glad you enjoy it!
Earth, homeworld of 5 seperate sapient species, Humanoid, Lithoid, Avian, Mammalian and Blorg...
For better or for worse, we are now in a timeline where AI currently gets more development than space travel.
So... Rogue servitor ending ?
@@BloodyMaryV Maybe, total skynet situation if this snowballs out of control and we literally lose control of AI in a near perfect setting for it! Oh well I guess lmao
@@BloodyMaryV Either Rogue Servitor, Skynet, or Mechanist.
@@BloodyMaryV nah, straight to contingency
My usual go to Human empire is the Interstellar Confederacy, which I RP as an alternate Universe UFP thats a bit more agressive and willing to interviene in the affairs of other interstellar powers while still holding to the prime directive where Primitive Civilizations are concerned. (Federation builder's shipset is awesome btw.)
I love that the apparent default of Mankind in the multi verse is just the Imperium.
I have another to report. One much your own except in the late 21st century we discovered a celestial being we simply called the Sky Dragon. Due to a humourous artical about it, it lead to what would be later called "the Second Golden Age of Piracy" with privateers taking to the Star Ocean for great riches.
Great video! Really enjoyed the timelines
Thanks Gabriel! Glad you enjoyed it
Talking about different timelines, the player is essentially a Wallfacer from The Three Body Problem series of books.
excuse me he isnt simply know as "the emperor" HE IS THE GOD EMPEROR OF MANKIND! OK OK ENOUGH OF THIS! Im going to call teh local arbites.
If dr. hawkin knows many timelines of earth, there's small chance that our dinosaur empire is canon 🗿🍷
Every chance!
been playing this game for years, didnt realise there were more than 2 empires related to earth
New Red King vid just in time to fall asleep to his soothing voice.
Sleep well!
Always love these videos, glad to see my favourite empire type, Rogue Servitors showing up.
Thanks Ryan, glad you enjoy them!!
Well, mostly erath rules a galaxy spanning empire. Some Xenos still resist in a corner of the galaxy - and there is a friendly xenos empire that erath protects from all threats for there help when humans were still weak.
7:14 seems to relate with the Space Battleship Yamato timeline where Earth really looked so dry like in the video due to alien Garmillas planet bombing Earth countless times since 2193, but reverted back to its former self thanks to alien Iscandarian tech called "Cosmo Reverse System" in 2199
Imagine my suprise when I ran into confederacy of sol, bunch of plant elves with pidgeons on shoulders:
Oh, new race, wait I know this system...WTF happened here?
Great video as always!
Thank you
Bummer we ended up in the reptilian timeline.
cowabummer dude
After seeing this I have stolen the device, Hydra Dominatus!
I enjoyed this, love hearing about the various paths Earth could have taken. Suppose I’m a bit COM-Centric
“What happened to earth” I all of my universes it got nuked and taken over by cockroaches, except for one instance, I invaded the medieval world and then made everything into cyborgs
what is with the medieval bashing? there was plenty of war zealotry and technological stagnation in the classical and bronze age.
"very grim and dark, indeed" 😂
I remember when I discovered early space age humanity... I was rping as the Daleks, so urmmm... Yeah... That was a fun... "Removal..."
may i ask what the timeline of Theia is about? Did you make it up or is it genuine stellaris lore?
Its interesting either way
It's genuine Stellaris lore, from a new preset empire added in the latest patch
As above, they're a base Empire in Stellaris with a backstory about how they were created
@@TheRedKing hm, this gives me an idea for a stellaris game
The Holy Terran Empire (in its own universe) had unified its earth and successfully became the crisis, ascending into the Shroud and beginning its war with previously ascended empires and with the Gods themselves, this would lead to a set of contingency plans to secure the survival of the empire and gain new manpower, part of these contingencies would be conquering parts of other universes and/or guiding mankind to form the HTE in its own world, leading to the cycle again to feed the war against the Gods
This would lead to an invasion of the UN in this world, the HTE would take control of Humanity and guide it to victory
or y'know, i could just play as the UN... butttt
Am I the only One who imagined the Custodianship being a bit like in the Matrix Movies where the Living beings are seen as Bio Throphies?
You are not alone in this :)
The Dark Ages were not a period of technological regression and religion and scientific progress are not mutually exclusive. We also live in a world much more obsessed with the ‘objective truth’ and very definitely haven’t become better for it.
This is something I learnt when I was 13 years old.
What? Thats exist?
I kinda disappointed we don't get to see the Greater Terran Union or Antares Confederacy timeline.
Perhaps in the future
I've encountered a human civilization that was a devouring swarm.
The game can use random portraits, but i doubt they also started on Earth?
Unfortunately I don't recall as it was quite a long time ago. It was most definitely randomly generated
i have an earth empire ran by vampire necrophage with human lessers..
Now... I should make a Dune-like universe where we humans colonize the galaxy, then fight against thinking machines.
Ok... Ok .. the grimdark joke wqs decent as heck.
The seventh timeline is kinda sus. Religion is a concept that would certainly spawn when stress levels are too high and the mind is seeking ways to preserve itself in the worst of situations. This can easily be seen in the way religion is relevant in Affluent and less affluent areas of the world.
An earth that did away with religion could be an earth without national disasters and strife. Quite questionable when you factor in how info is relayed, beligerence of people from the bronze and Iron age, and human stupidity in the mix.
Perhaps those are humanlike creatures but not humans.
I've started playing with feudalism and environmentalist as my civics as a sixth age of Middle Earth after industrialization and a fourth age crisis brought a return to authoritarian rule under the new rangers.
It's been a fun role play
is that tomb world earth picture from FS2, Blue Planet? when the GTVA exploration team enters the bad timeline
One new subscriber keep them coming two part two please three can I ask you something as will
So in a recent playthrough I ended up having an event where there was a beta earth in a different dimension that was being erased somehow and pulled it through then 5 years later the unbidden showed up is this connected?
Not connected, beta Earth is via the doorway event, unbidden appearing is just bad luck
you should do a collab with the templin institute and do a video on The Greater Terran Union
Templin Institute approves 😂
the Templar Institute are but mear motes of dust compared to The Red King
Yeah... we don't talk about the templin institute anymore... there are some... let's just say controversies that have risen up in more recent times...
@@victoralexandervinkenes9193 What do you mean by that ?
@@victoralexandervinkenes9193 Oh do tell me? im all ears! but in truth what goes up must come down all things have a life expiration date.
@@YoLo-bb2vc I think it was some WH40K related stuff and how they shut down anyone who dared to criticise their opinion.
there was human empire that was frendly
One gripe : The Dark ages was a Limited event restricted to Europe. Meanwhile Asia, Middle east were in thier Golden ages. Making scientific, cultural and technological innovations that paved the way for the modern age.
The idea that the "European dark ages" prevented human progress is euro-centric and demeans the work of collective humanity.
That’s not really accurate at all, they were called the dark ages because the skies had literally turned ashen and darkened as a result of a series of massive volcanic eruptions in the Pacific region, this temporarily lowered the temperature of most of Earth. As a result plant life and crops all over the world suffered from the lack of sunlight plus temperature drop. It was just an all around apocalyptic age for humanity corresponding with the collapse of the greatest Empire. It was a global event. Not a “Eurocentric” view, that term also denigrates European achievements and history.
@@quagmoe7879 shh don't be stating facts and logic like that, the projector will project their racism on you
@@quagmoe7879 The volcanic winters of 536, 539, and 547 didn't last nine centuries.
@@Amigo21189 Nope but they did lasting damage. It likely took a while to recover to the level of agricultural development, not to mention the extreme number of deaths due to the multiple famines. That kind of event has a lasting impact that doesn’t just go away after a couple centuries.
A better scenario for a "no dark age humanity" would be a version of earth where the Romans and tje Greeks realize the potential of steam engines and go through an industrial revolution almost 2,000 years before than in our time line.
Yeah, stuff like calculus still would need to be developed earlier but with the incentive of steam powered mills, boats, etc., other branches of science also would be developed faster than in real life.
Human Remnantttttt my arch enemy
Honestly I absolutely Love Creating my own Custom Human Empire. My favor Is Using the Planetary Diversity Planetary Habitats mod. To start off with Mars and Luna already "colonised".
And The Miqo'te and Additional traits mod to Create a second species with the slave gene.
The backstory being:
That the First Solar System War Ended with the Victory of the so called 'Supreme Alliance Of Human Nations'.
An Indirect Democracy, that Won basically By genetically engineered Catgirls and processing them as personal slaves to all whom joined.
That Attract Sores of Soldiers and Scientists.
Wich ultimately made them outpace the competition and emerged as the Uncontested Power on Terra (Earth) and in the Solar System.
They are a xenophobic Empire as a matter of course. Going With the Humanity First Ideology as both a survival tactic and to aim humanities attention and rage at outside threats.
And enslaving any Xenos the come across.
The one in late medieval times probably didn’t have the UK which is why they are stuck in the late middle ages.
5:22
*OH GOD*
I enjoyed the video (but just so you know, "dark ages" isn't a thing in history.)
Are you sure? en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Early_Middle_Ages aha tbf, maybe they changed what it's called in schools but it was always referred to as that "back in my day"
@@TheRedKing as another commentator pointed out, it's a eurocentric view. But beyond that, there were several key technology developments and inventions that occured during that period.
@@safrel1114He obviously meant the European dark age...
From the point of view of those "enlightened" space farers, I'm pretty sure, they would speak about the migration period and medieval age with about the same hubris and arrogance as the people of the enlightenment did when they coined the term "dark ages."
From that point of view, the usage of the term is definitely warranted.
do the nations of earth still exist as a ceremonial role? afterall it would make sense imo
It's not really clear but doubtful
@@TheRedKing maybe as a planetary government like how the US worked or just for historical purposes and whatnot
@@dominicsouthern7672 Realistically, no nation would be willing to surrender its independence and self determination to become part of a UN "super nation". It's far more likely that in the UNE, every nation still exists with their own government and laws, and the UNE is simply an alliance between all the member nations, with planetary colonies being considered the territory of whatever nations sponsored or sent the colony ship. The UNE military likewise is more likely simply a conjoined alliance of member nation militaries that work independently but allied through a shared comms structure, like say having the United States Space Marine Corps launching an invasion of an alien planet while the Royal Interstellar Navy of the UK provides orbital assistance and spec ops units of the People's Republic of China perform ops behind the frontline.
