The aeternum is the perfect example of why Paradox makes it impossible to do all accession paths. Gene edited Psi-Borgs are too overpowered.

Alice II: “Mother, where are you going?
Alice I: “Oh, hello. I know we haven’t spent much time together with how busy I am, but I’d rather die than extend my life and be around you.Bye!”
    *1000 years later*
Alice III: “Mother where are you going?”
Alice II: “Oh, hi. I’m going to retire to spend the last 200 years of my life doing what I love. Being away from you and saddling all my duties as Empress onto you.Bye!”
    *10,000 years later*
Alice IV: “Mother, where are you going?
    Alice III: “Oh, hello…person I don’t know.
    Alice IV: “I’m your daughter!”
Alice III: “Really!? When, how, and why would I have a child while being so busy running the galactic cluster and getting ready to be a God Empress? Anyway, bye!”
    *100 years later*
Alice V: “Mother, where are you going?”
Alice IV: “Nowhere sweetie. After your grandma died, and I saved what was left of our people, I realized the most important thing in the Universe was to keep those you love close and safe.
    Alice V: “I love you!” :)
Alice IV: “I love you too.” :)
*And thus the Aeternium Empire fell into decline and stagnation*
The moral of this story is NEVER LOVE YOUR CHILDREN or they’ll grow up to become LOSERS!!!

Humans of this story are so powerful that they transcend wars of conquest. Everybody just wants to be ruled by then instead since they are so great.

Its arrival is expected at approximately 01/01/2200.

The last time he reported that he had finish the ultimate strategy.
But he didn't got in touch again.

The threat in the Jupitwo system has also been neutralized.
In another 75 years we will begin to collaboration.
Then we will finally get rid of the infernal forces that have filled our realm.
And then we will break through their temporary blockade, which has turned our universe into a timeless cage.

There are only three things that irritate me about this lore.
      1. The world is completely hermetic and static. Pure fatalism, disgusting and... boring.
      2. Most civilizations are super-centralized and the story is not so much about the civilization as about the rulers who supposedly created everything the empire is proud of - as if there were no people there at all.
      3. All the civilizations there (except Compound) turned from "Alien" into some kind of furry community.
      Disgusting.

      Hello! Wow, small world!
Since you asked - here's what I meant in short:
The thing is that this world is completely separated from everything transcendental.
It is completely fixed in its state and nothing can change it.
This world will be destroyed and collapsed anyway - and you won't be able to survive it anyway (unless you are a great Kaiser).
You can't even go to another universe, although they exist, but the transition between them is completely closed.
I understand that it must be difficult - I remember the Boulder Ring, but "completely inaccessible"?
All manifestations of this in Stellaris - astral rifts, Unbidden, cosmogenesis - are reduced simply to "special cases of "Deep Shroud", and nothing more." Although I really like the concepts of "Local Shroud" and "Deep Shroud", I don't like when something large-scale and great is reduced to the most local.
And in general, any attempts to go beyond the limits are cynically doomed to failure.
      Other worlds are closed.
Cosmogenesis is a failure by definition.
Aetherophasic Engine is always a trap.
Again, I would understand if most of them - but all of them?
(Aetherophasic Engine installation could be both a trap and a weapon - literally the embodiment of the ideas and aspirations of the civilization that created it - a machine-antithesis against the forces of Shroud.
A device - where even the shape of individual parts and the order of assembly have a symbolic meaning.
If assembled correctly, it will ascend the species to the "Terraformed domain in Shroud", leaving an empty shell of the galaxy, but if the process is disrupted or the thoughts of the creators are clouded - the consequences will be catastrophic).
Even Pushkin, having ascended, turned out to be a wingless penguin.
Any attempt to achieve something, to become better is doomed to failure by definition.
In this world you will live as if in a felt-lined cage.
You will beat against these walls all your life for nothing, because you literally have nowhere to go.
Then, you will die, a new cycle will begin and you will continue to beat against these walls.
      And over. And over
Even Xeelee Sequence does not look as grimdark as this Infernal Timeless Cage.
This is about the world as a whole, but the above is also reflected in the narrative plan, during the game.
There is a feeling that the game begins to limit you.
The original Stellaris always leaves room for imagination, the world is built - but the boundaries are always blurred.
Here, as I already said, there are too many 100% statements.
There is no understatement, no mystery, and no exceptions (except for Kaiser, but he is unique and inimitable) - everything is fixed, cemented - the player has nothing to add, he has to act exclusively inside the timeless cage.
      That's what I meant.
      P.S
Despite the statement above - I really like the mod, as well as the customization menu.
I really like strong and detailed crises that require more than just "fleet spam".
Among the new features, I want to mention Faust - you managed to make a reference to a show that makes me break out in a rash - in one of my favorite crises (and planetary systems too).
The only thing missing is Stellaris-style portraits, like with Kaiser and the Blokkats.
Also, Compound - these guys deserve more, and better.
Anyway - I'm very glad I met you!
I'm extremely intrigued by what else you can add.
I would be very happy to finaly see Nebularia.
      P.P.S
Still waiting for the Kaiser Moon page on the wiki.

The thing that this reminds me of more than anything is the Architects from Subnautica, beings who were created by combining and hybriding different species together and who possessed immense technology but were ultimately undone by a biological monster. In that game's lore, it's also the case that one such architect, in his hubris, allowed that biological horror to escape its containment.

I recently had a run against the max difficulty Aeternum with the ancient cache of technologies and acquisition of technologies mods and it was a blast.
9 Maginot Worlds (3 at each of the Galactic Core entrances), 15 Planetcrafts, 26 Attackmoons, 20 Jugurnots, 12 Warbarges and about 500 of the Precursors largest ship types.
They caught me mid transition to the Alpha techs and I still only won by using the fact that the Maginot worlds FTL inhibitors prevented them from going in between the core exits, So I could pick one or two fleets at a time.
After trying to destroy The Massive Fleet that spawns when they awaken.
I was reduced to 1/5 of my forces and they only had 6 Planetcrafts and half of the Massive Fleet left.
As I was building up to finish the rest of their remaining fleets. They triggered the fails safes on two of my maginot worlds. Destroying the rest of The Aeternum Fleet.
I took their Birch World soon after.
Also Fleets destroyed by the Maginot World fail safe do not leave wrecked Planetcrafts behind.

Makes me kind of wish we got to or would get to talk to Divinity in some way about Aeternum and its people. Most likely when they awaken again to try and start their endless crusade of the universe once more... or if they are succeeding quite quickly after re-awakening. It makes me want to see it in some form or fashion within the game and the mod itself considering it seems like such an integral part of Aeternums lore. As well as something that would likely refuse to allow their rise once again.
This also makes me wonder what truly became of Alice the second, and if she is still somewhere within the psionic realm where you would think you could contact her.

Aeternum is only active for around a hundred thousand years. The rest of that time was spent being recluses in the galactic core, and before a million years ago they literally didn’t exist. So the best explanation is simply that these crises weren’t active at the same time as Aeternum and as a result never came to blows. Same for the other precursors, with most of them massively predating, or slightly postdating, Aeternite activities.

Since i've not heard of literal planets being turned into spaceships in 40k I think they'd be just fine. The Birch World is as big as our solar system I believe, it's insane. Oh and remember these guys have travelled between galaxies, something I don't think happens in 40k?

    • @thorshammer7883
      @thorshammer7883 Год назад +13

      @@TheRedKing
It doesn't happen in 40k that much. The only two factions who did travel between galaxies are the Tyranids and the Necrons.
Population wise 2 Quadrillion residents is going to be a pretty big population to draw manpower from. Even by the Imperium's largest population estimates 2 Quadrillion inhabitants are going to be enough to keep up.
And I doubt the Imperium and Chaos can draw enough resources and weapon fire power to actually destroy something as huge as a Birch world. Only the Necrons could possibly do so. Nevermind all the defenses each system has.
If we assume naturally the Aeternum inhabitants would be highly resistant to the influences of Chaos and because they have pretty much everything they ever wanted already the Aeternum are pretty secure on the mental attacks territories.
And with all the likely industrial capacities the Aeternum would have I think they will be a huge powerhouse in the Warhammer 40k setting.

    • @mathieutechno
      @mathieutechno Год назад +4

    • @thorshammer7883
      @thorshammer7883 Год назад +7

      @@mathieutechno
I think it is possible they might be naturally highly resistant to the mental forced influences of the Warp and to the Chaos gods. As with their experiences I think it's not too hard to imagine they might be pretty naturally resistant to the Chaos gods. The Shroud entities operating on a greater scale may have helped them on that front dealing with a smaller more local galaxy version of the Shroud that the Warp is. Though the Chaos Gods are alot more proactively aggressive then the Shroud deities I don't think they will have as much early success as they may desire to get influencing them. Aeternum have had all the power and pleasures they have been content with for hundreds of thousands of years. Personally I don't see the Chaos gods being as impactful as some may think.
So I think it's okay to explore that if.
Now the Aeternum suck alot at sensory technology so that's one thing that could help Warhammer 40k galaxy but the Warhammer setting has it's own problems with sensors and communications. Logistics are a nightmare for factions normally. So the Aeternum are not that bad in comparison.
