Everyone has regrets. You put in the work, got that 5 star rank, played college football. So many people would be happy with your football accomplishments. Just because you didn’t get awarded the heisman, win the National Championship game and got drafted #1 doesn’t make you a bust. Awesome channel and I’m looking forward to see more great accomplishments!

USC alum '93. I got all love for you Max. You never went off the deep end and self-sabotaged yourself, wasting your talent. There's only 32 starters in the league, it takes more than hard work and talent, there's some luck involved, ie Kurt Warner. It's easy to call someone a bust when they, themselves, never put themselves out their to try something great. They failed to chase their dreams and regret projects itself nastily. You put yourself out there and took a shot.

It takes a lot of guts to be known as a "bust" while still being active in college football and with your former program. Power to you! there's so much more to life than football
I did color commentary for the Syracuse game for WPTS radio, and remember your injury. It was difficult to watch because I saw how hard you were working to build camaraderie with a new team in a foreign city. Your ability to handle adversity, turn it into a learning experience, and create a positive future for yourself is admirable. You'll always have a fan in me Max. Keep producing this great content!
U got to play d1 football, a dream I have always had. It’s very respectable and impressive just to play at that level alone. U should be proud of yourself.
I love that you are able to watch another person's video about yourself. To reflect on your own experiences within that journey. You made it a lot farther than a "WHOLE LOT" of people that have had aspirations to be a professional athlete. Including myself. I appreciate you and thank you for sharing your personal experiences with us!
There are 4 people I know from my home town of Roswell, New Mexico that played Collegiately. Gary Jackson played basketball at New Mexico State, Chris Stokes played golf at Lubbock Christian, Dontrell Moore and Andre Cheetam played football at University of New Mexico. Dontrell and Andre both played running back. Andre broke Dontrell's rushing records and still holds them. Dontrell is the only one that got tryouts in the NFL though. He tried out with the Titans and the Jets. He was an end of preseason cut both times. Those guys are always people that are still looked up to within our community!
Oh, I forgot about Mick Reeves. He tried out for the Cowboys as a Cornerback and made it to AAA with the Cubs. I guess that makes 5 people from my town that have come anywhere close to playing professional sports.
I stumbled across your video and honestly man I personally feel the pain in your eyes. I played well in college, got tryouts, and blew my knee out before training camp. Everyone I knew expected me to go pro and it was all I ever wanted. Took a long time to get over the pain and find my path. I hope you find your calling. There are things in life more rewarding than football I promise you.

I'm gonna be honest, you caught a super tough break with that injury vs Pittsburgh. But you telling your story is the best thing that you can do with your experiences; teaching other young kids to not be too hard on themselves, to just be patient. Some players become busts because they don't have any work ethic; I'm glad to see that you ALWAYS gave it everything you had. Good luck on your career as an analyst!
Quick anecdotal story for you Max. Your senior year of high school and my last year as a Trojan, I traveled up to Seattle for the Washington/SC game at the Seahawks stadium. Me and my buddy saw you prior to the game with some of your buddies and told you SC or bust. You winked. Was so pumped when you committed to SC. I got to be honest, this was hard for me to watch but I appreciate your positive outlook of the situation. At the end of the day, I’ve been a very frustrated SC alum/fan. The revolving door of coaches and lingering question of do we have the right coach to take us back into the upper echelon has frustrated me. I can’t see how this helped you reach your potential and apologize on behalf of a poor administration. Lastly, I was at that Bama game man. Nothing you could have done...you ran into an absolute juggernaut. I was amazed at how much pressure you and Sam were under. Wish you the best!
Hey bro, I started watching your videos recently and just wanting to say you inspired me a lot! Everyone has difficult times in life and I really felt identified with your story. What we learn from failures really help us getting in the road of sucess. Glad that your are bouncing back from everything that happened to you and doing it in an awesome way. I saw Max in Taper Hall when I was a junior or senior, and he was a freshman kid straight out of highschool. I had followed him since his highschool days as a five star recruit and was excited that he would lead our football team after Barkley (there was wittek and some other guy, forgot his name). Things have turned and now i don't see Max playing football and it saddens me. anyhow, good seeing you active online Max.
I hope you continue making videos your one of my favorite recruits USC ever got your a superstar bro. I hope you keep going here cuz I’ve watched a few videos an this is what your suppose to do. Keep at it Max 💯 you got it bro.
Not a big college football guy so I never heard of you but man it’s so refreshing how self aware and honest you are. Although you didn’t live out your dream you had a great ride. There’s people out there that dream of just attending USC let alone starting games for the football program. I’m sure that’s not what you want to hear but you experienced things many people don’t.
I really love how Max isn't salty or bitter about his career. He (seems) to be content with how his life is, and doesn't blame anyone for anything. I really admire his mentality and he'll definitely be able to be an inspiration to young football players 1 day.
Damn Max, this video hit home for me. I’m a former D1 athlete, baseball, whose career fell short of expectations. I follow USC football and definitely remember you, you had serious tools man! The grace and maturity you have handled your career is an inspiration to us all. Well done sir.
Man, this is super humble of you. I remember being hyped for you and also punching my door at the end of the Alabama game lol. I think going to USC completely stunted your growth (3~4) head coaching jobs can stunt your growth for sure. I think you need to get a QB job at some school and try your luck there. Good luck on the journey man
Video popped up on my recommended I like your perspective. It’s not how you start but how you finish, everything happens for a reason. good work my g 🔥
Great video man, this takes a lot of guts. I was a top recruited baseball player and like you put a ton pressure on myself and ended up with injuries that ended my career. It's very hard to recover from being on such a pedestal and I applaud you for doing it so publicly. You have a great mentality and are a great resource for the large percentage of top athletes who never achieve their goals and are just forgotten about. Keep up the great work!
Max, I find it extremely inspiring that you can be happy and find the light while watching some some of your dark moments You are a real champion brother!
Max, do you feel things would have been different had you gone to Oklahoma? Like would you have done better, gone pro, etc.? Either way, thank you for going to USC. You're a Trojan for life.
Not sure if you remember me at all but when you were at skyline I walked into the quiznos on 228th one day and you were there with I believe your girlfriend at the time, and I had no idea who you were but I saw your skyline gear on and asked you about going to skyline vs eastlake and you told me about your experiences and what you've heard and gave me really good advice and just want you to know that interaction has stuck with me and meant a lot, I look back on it fondly 🙂
I'm a couple of years late commenting on this, but I wanted to throw out the name Cooper Bateman. I believe he was at the Elite 11 with you. Coop was the QB for our local high school. I've known him since he was a wee lad. He and my son were best friends all through elementary, jr high and high school. My son wasn't a big kid - he has his Mom's slight frame, but he was Coop's go-to receiver on 3rd down and the team had to get a first down. I appreciate your story, as my plans didn't work as I thought they would. Baseball was my sport and I was a catcher. I was drafted by the Reds and my ego convinced me that Cincy wanted me to replace Johnny Bench after he retired the next year. I decided not to play college ball and after 4 years in double A, I realized I wasn't as good as I thought I was, so I retired, went to school and became a Special Ed teacher. (Retired 2 years ago). Sorry for this being so long.
Great to listen to his perspective. No matter how far you make it, competitive sports will be in your rearview mirror at some point. Keep moving forward and with his attitude life will be full of great experiences 👍🏽
I was NFL bound until them Sebring Lightning bolt boys took out my knees in the Heartland Championship game of the 7th grade Junior high school round of 64 in 1997. Them good ole days as the running back for them Hardee Junior High Wildcats.
Being a scholarship athlete myself. I can minutely understand the pressure it takes to succeed. Just remember, you are capable of anything you set your mind to pal. I’m currently a professional poker player and doing quite well. Keep that competitive drive my man.
Thanks for this. Dealing with expectations (either internal or from society) is such a relatable message. Just know that sharing your experiences will have a positive impact on thousands of people.
What a fascinating watch. Thank you for your perspective and willingness to dive into a third person critique, that isn't something many people could do and handle it as well as you did. Wishing you all the best in the upcoming chapters of your life.
Would be cool to interview some of your old teammates. Maybe some qb drills workouts. Maybe old USC meal plans vs Pitt's. Maybe the top 5 defensive players you ever played against.
Really interesting video. I am blown away by your maturity, positive AND realistic outlook on life and finally, you just seem like a really good dude. I've never been a top recruit but I'm guessing a lot of them get interest from other people because their great at something, but I'd imagine people liked being around you because of your personality and it was just a bonus that you were great at something. You got yourself a subscriber.
Man I get that small town football vibe. I live in a small town in NJ just across the Delaware from Philly. Were not too wealthy, were really small, but our football team has a whole concrete grandstand. Some of my best memories at those games
I remember you and your come up from high school and through college. Much respect on how you have handled yourself and everything that had happened. Not may people I think could get to the good headspace you seem to be in. Keep grindin.
Love your positivity and outlook on life! You speak with fluidity & I can tell that you are very knowledgable about the game and have a great memory . I can't wait for more vids to come! Respect dude. If you happen to read this , Rank your top 5 QB in the 2021 class in order pls
Great reaction video! I am a huge Pitt fan I was super excited when you transferred to Pitt sadly it didn’t work (plus the white uni’s are dope). It’s awesome that you never let that bring you down as well. Life is all about the journey and what you learn along the road
Dude you’re the man. Glad I found your channel. I used to make you a star in NCAA 14 - with both teams of course. Bust or not, I’m stoked to see your career from here
Hey Max. Interesting vid. I've always been a big college football fan but tbh I didn't know a ton about your story or your era at SC. It was cool to see this video, especially with you being so honest and genuine about the experience. You seem like the kind of guy who might fail at something only to have that experience launch you into great success somewhere else. It's funny to think because I'm sure you always imagined that football would be your best chance at great success. You loved it, were supremely talented compared to your peers and worked very hard for it. How cool is it to think that maybe this isn't a "second chance" at all. Maybe it was always supposed to go this way because you're destined to find even greater success somewhere else and a football career would've only held you back from your true destiny. I'm rooting for you man and can't wait to see you reach the top.
What a great outlook and attitude. There wasn’t one second of this video where you came off as bitter or played the blame game. I wish you all the success in the world going forward.
Thanks for being real man. What Scott says at the end of the video is true. I just found this channel and it's a breath of fresh air. You might have been a "bust" but you're less than .1% of all athletes to play for a power 5 conference school and work your ass off to give yourself a good shot. I'll be checking out more of your stuff for sure.
The fact that you had that incredible high school experience is something not many can say they have had. You went on, worked and you were on college teams, threw TDs in a USC and Pitts jersey. People dream of getting that opportunity. In the grand scheme of human beings, you had incredible success and still are seeing that through. Appreciate that for what it is. Great video 👏
When I was in 7th/8th grade I lived in Sammamish and ended up going to Eastlake. I actually used to train with you at Barton camps. Glad to see you're doin well my man!
Let’s go!! Great video, good message for potential student athletes. You gave an honest take on yourself which is hard for people. You will find your path that’s for sure!!
Great video as begin from WA are school faced archbishop it was a dominant private school and we were only a public school we were so hyped when we scored on them once
I was recommended this video and I really enjoyed it. I remember rooting for you when you were coming out of HS. Can’t wait to see the growth of your RUclips channel. You put in a lot of hard work and you will be rewarded soon! Keep grinding Max!
Man that SC Bama game me n my brother were too hyped when you hit that fade ball to Darreus Rogers on the first drive....on the tv broadcast they zoomed in on your face when you were getting the call from the sideline and we were like Ohhh the intensity and focus....man little did we know the pain and hurt we would feel the rest of the game...it was definitely a rough few days at work after all the smack talk I did down in Georgia and Sec country...FIGHT ON ...killin the analysis man
I hate that guys that never played call Max a bust! He was a amazing football player and seems to be a great guy! He may not have done what he wanted to do in college but he still started at a D1 school.I’m sure the adversity he’s faced has made him a better man. Good luck to him!!!!
@Hugh Dilly where did you play? Why are you so upset? Did you get beat up by football payers in HS so now you feel good calling him a bust? Stop hating on him because your a punk! Lol
@@bobbyb9757 Max owns that he is a bust. And he is right. A bust is by definition someone who did not live up to the hype. But is being a bust a bad thing? He seems happy and content with all of his life choices and understands that life took him somewhere else than football.
He seems like one hell of a good guy. He owns his career and everything that happened and doesn’t make excuses or blame others. I think that shows you what kind of character he truly has. I really hope he finds a lot of success in all of his future endeavors.
lol your response to people saying you’re not a bust..I respect the hell out of people with your self awareness and confidence. Modern day cfb and these recruiting websites really end up hurting a lot of guys I think. People don’t understand that it’s just not that simple. I think you kinda just had the misfortune of getting to a big time school at the top of their success bubble and you just got dealt a tough situation on the way down. A guy from the era before SC named Kyle wright had a similar situation at Miami. Sometimes it just doesn’t play out right especially in a team sport like football. Subscribed to your channel.
i am very impressed by your outlook on things, you maintained accountability and more importantly you didnt let the end of your football career result in the end of your life; you perservered and moved forward. I for one am greatly impressed by that, i didnt hear you make one excuse or point one finger. You are a great ex to kids, as we know everyone wont make it pro; i wish you nothing but the best in this and any other venture, your parents raised a very good man. My father is a guy who isnt impressed by much, but accountable responsible guys like yourself always get his attention and his respect.
This was an awesome video to watch someone react to a ' football career assessment vid' and you have such a positive perspective/outlook on it all and you are a well spoken person. Compliments to you and hey!! You are a "Back to back State Champ" as a starter, it wasn't all bad.
I’d say the word “bust” is more reserved for people whose decisions and motivations caused them to fail. It feels a bit lazy to categorize people with a csreer ending injury as busts. It’s just unfortunate circumstances. When I hear “bust,” I think of guys who piss their talent away, not guys who catch a terrible break.
Manziel cough cough On of the greatest cfb player in our gen, had a ability and talent to be one of the greats in the. NFL.. instead he partied himself out of the league!
it's a lot to be proud of to be the number 1 quarterback in the country and to go to arguably one of the best colleges on the west coast but great job the analysis from a quarterback point of view makes it interesting especially the west coast offense given you see a lot of variations of look forward to more content
Saw Max at the SC vs LSU game in Vegas ‘24. Nice guy and he has played more downs for SC than 99.9% of Trojan fans. True SC fans respect the work and grit these guys like Max go through. Max is a champ in my book. Fight on !
Great video man, your story is amazing but your attitude is even better, a lot of people would’ve let there life fall apart but you decided to look at the glass half full and I respect that so much.
Funny this video just popped up on my feed. I was just thinking yesterday about what happened to Max Browne as I was a big fan of the prospect that came with the highlights and Five star expectations. Nonetheless I’m stoked I found this video. I’m pumped to see you’re holding your head up high Max. You da man! I would say you were a bust if you played poorly but you did not. You got beat out by a potential first round qb and your team played some insane out of conference games and you later got injured. Tough times don’t last but tough people do. Keep knocking life out the park with that positive attitude. You have greatness ahead of you 👏
Excellent well spoken well thought out analysis of yourself bro. You’re far from a bust you’re part of the less than 1% who played organized football collegiately at the highest level. The odds were always against you and you gutted it out until your arm said no mas. I hate when young men get labeled a “bust” by fans and analysts who couldn’t do what you can in their dreams. The minute you took a snap of collegiate football you beat the odds. You got an education, made connections and friends for life and now you’re on an upward trajectory towards success in whatever you do. Be proud of what you’ve accomplished don’t let anyone steal your accomplishments and positive attitude. And btw I’m a Bruins fan 😂 you’ve earned my respect and a sub 👍

Video popped up on my recommended I like your perspective. It’s not how you start but how you finish, everything happens for a reason. good work my g 🔥
Yessir - thanks bro 🤙🏻
Great video man, this takes a lot of guts. I was a top recruited baseball player and like you put a ton pressure on myself and ended up with injuries that ended my career. It's very hard to recover from being on such a pedestal and I applaud you for doing it so publicly. You have a great mentality and are a great resource for the large percentage of top athletes who never achieve their goals and are just forgotten about. Keep up the great work!
Max, I find it extremely inspiring that you can be happy and find the light while watching some some of your dark moments You are a real champion brother!
I apologize for my hood, guys. Idk what’s going on
Just noticing
Max, do you feel things would have been different had you gone to Oklahoma? Like would you have done better, gone pro, etc.? Either way, thank you for going to USC. You're a Trojan for life.
Its great to educate the ignorant who dont understand it all they play fantasy madden see it all like that.
😂
You have and will continue to be successful my brotha. You have some serious determination. Keep up the great work!!! I'm a fan for life man.
Haha what’s up Max! Great work on this!
haha the OG creator. Thanks bro
Two of my fav guys!!!
You can tell the pain he has in his face when it says he was supposed to be a nfl starter
I’m hyped this RUclips video blew up for this guy
This simply proves it does matter where you go
If he would have picked a smaller school, or in state, they would have rode through his ups and downs and who knows what could have happened....
Max dude great to see you’re thriving! I got my first varsity reps against you playing for Roosevelt in 2013 funny enough
What a fascinating watch. Thank you for your perspective and willingness to dive into a third person critique, that isn't something many people could do and handle it as well as you did. Wishing you all the best in the upcoming chapters of your life.
Thanks Cory - appreciate it
Would be cool to interview some of your old teammates. Maybe some qb drills workouts. Maybe old USC meal plans vs Pitt's. Maybe the top 5 defensive players you ever played against.
all great ideas. Pitt's food was low key way better than USC's - could be a fun vid.
You're a quality guy. Praying for all the best for you moving forward.
Thanks Paul ✊🏻
This was a very good watch. I can see you crushing it in the booth. Thanks for sharing!
Man that SC Bama game me n my brother were too hyped when you hit that fade ball to Darreus Rogers on the first drive....on the tv broadcast they zoomed in on your face when you were getting the call from the sideline and we were like Ohhh the intensity and focus....man little did we know the pain and hurt we would feel the rest of the game...it was definitely a rough few days at work after all the smack talk I did down in Georgia and Sec country...FIGHT ON ...killin the analysis man
Mad respect for the review. Regret and past experiences are never easy things to deal with and you were all class. You have a bright future
What great video. I respect your honesty, outlook and reflection on your football career. Thank you so much for sharing.
i am very impressed by your outlook on things, you maintained accountability and more importantly you didnt let the end of your football career result in the end of your life; you perservered and moved forward.
@@abearnchess4155 now that’s a bust
Nah bust is someone who doesn't fulfill expectations, don't matter the reason
Yeah injuries don't make you a bust
Thanks for being honest and open, I hope the best for you.
Love the video! Come off as such a genuine and personable guy
QB is the toughest position to play in sports. Great story and nice to see your positive attitude.
Not a real college fan , an didn't know your story... BUT GREAT VIDEO U SEEM TO B IN A GOOD SPACE an other aspiring athletes should see this side
Great video. Didn’t know much about Max until I watched this. Insightful!
Appreciate u!
Your ability to analyze this video speaks to your high level of character. Keep pushin!
it's a lot to be proud of to be the number 1 quarterback in the country and to go to arguably one of the best colleges on the west coast but great job the analysis from a quarterback point of view makes it interesting especially the west coast offense given you see a lot of variations of look forward to more content
Saw Max at the SC vs LSU game in Vegas ‘24. Nice guy and he has played more downs for SC than 99.9% of Trojan fans. True SC fans respect the work and grit these guys like Max go through. Max is a champ in my book. Fight on !
This shows so much about you as a human being. You just gained a fan.
Great video man, your story is amazing but your attitude is even better, a lot of people would’ve let there life fall apart but you decided to look at the glass half full and I respect that so much.
Great vid max, USC fan still rooting for u to succeed in all aspects of life
Man I really appreciate your honesty and self reflection. Great video earned a subscription brother 🤙🏼
Anyone that chooses to come to my school I’ll always appreciate. Good luck to you man and H2P. And you’re right, the current Pitt unis are sick.
Haha so fire 🔥 thanks JP
This is great. Will be watching your breakdown vids for sure ✌🏻
This is what courage looks like. Much respect. Subbed.
You have greatness ahead of you 👏
Great video. Very cool to see someone in your position be so open. Giving insight that honestly is rarely seen.
Just got recommended to this video and your channel and I’m impressed. No regrets. Keep doing good. Proud of you bro
Been a fan since 7 on 7 in high school. You that dude bro. Real life happens! So dope to see you living life to the fullest regardless of your past
I appreciate the message bro. Thanks for checking the vid out too. All love! (Even tho u a Bruin)
Way to control your narrative Max. Great video!
Love the reaction to Scott, Max! Also loved your take on the video ❤️🤟🏼
As a Pitt student, this was really cool to see from your perspective
Moran??? You should be following your uncle at BMS.
