Thank you very much for this clear and detailed video! It made me breath easier after I viewed it. Much simpler than I expected. Thank you also to the viewers that commented and added valuable comments!
Great video man. Thanks a lot. For anyone buying an alternator for the Borrego, there are 2 options: 1- Borregos with a rear blower (square connector on the back of the alternator with 4 pins), 2- Borregos with no blower on the back, like the one on this video (oval connector with 2 pins)
Great video. Did find out the correct alternator is from an 07-08 Kia Sorrento or Sedona product number 15599vc from AutoZone with out rear air two prong oval plug for the 09 Kia Borrego
Thank you for this unprecedented Kia Borrego video, it helped me to safely and easily change my 2009 Kia Borrego EX. alternator. You know what, I actually dropped the bolt like you did..lol
It's a lot easier if you loosen both of the bolts just a couple of whole turns and then tap the bolt heads back in. This will push the rear threaded bushings from squeezing on the mounting brackets. After that, go ahead and finish removing the bolts. Now it will be nice and loose and you will not have to pry on anything.
We bought the Kia Sorento alternator with the code you gave and the sensor plug in the back of the alternator didn't match it. The Sorento alt has a more oval plug and the Borrego is more square. -js
Yeah, so the SEDONA alternator was the correct one with a square plug in back to match the male end coming from the vehicle. It bolted up and plug right in. Started right up. Thanks for confusing the hell out of us bruh.
@@SC-jd7ql can I ask what your borrego was doing to cause you to change alternator? Mine isn’t turning over but thinking it’s fuel pump but could also be alternator

I pretty sure its a Sedona alt. We just picked one up and it has a square port hole so we will see.
But now that I looked at this video the alternator you took out has the oval port hole on the back. Im so confused

Why not take off the drivers front wheel and come in from the bottom?
Have you ever had to replace the starter on a 2009 kia borrego and where is it located at.
There is a V8 version of the 2009 Kia Borrego in both the EX, LTD, and LX
