8. Pastor Rafferty previously answered a question regarding Revelation 5:8. He had mentioned something about the 24 Elders. He said they were a new group of representatives taken to heaven by Christ and then are ministering along with Christ on our behalf in heaven. Is there a possibility that the 24 elders could be from other worlds?
9. Can a Christian be demon possessed?
10. Can you please explain 1 John 5:17? It says ”All wrongdoing is sin, and there is sin that does not lead to death.“ What is sin that does not lead to death?
11. I am on Social Security and I am given a specific amount of money each month. If I am given $1,000 minus $100.00 for Medicare, making my check $900.00; do I tithe on the $1,000 or the $900.00? Do we tithe before or after deductions?

The friend who brought me to Christ as an Elder in the SDA I'm SC was given a contract with the Rams. Left to follow the Sabbath. My favorite is John. It shows the Jesus that most churches no longer teach. That He is Sovereign, He is our everything, and He is God in flesh.

Hearing the question on whether to play sports on the Sabbath reminded me of the great Dodgers' pitcher Sandy Koufax who, during the 1965 World Series, refused to play Game 1 of that series because the day of that game fell on the holiday of Yom Kippur (admittedly different circumstances from not playing on the Sabbath but the same general principle applies here).
The principle remains the same, though: when having to choose between God and the world, always choose God first. Koufax did, and we should do the same whenever the situation comes up.

You’re susceptible to being influenced by demons without being demon possessed. There are stages/levels of influence based on your choices up to the point where demons can actually control you. Peter wasn’t demon possessed, but his words were contrary to Jesus mission, something Satan could use to throw Jesus off, if Jesus wasn’t fully in tune with His Heavenly Father.
@ericgriffith3579 I respectfully disagree with your answer. The Bible doesn't talk about stages or levels of demon possession. You are either possessed or not. However, the Bible talks about time (how long) a person can be demon possessed. (Mark 5:4-5, key word "night and day")
In Matthew, Satan possessed Peter. Satan and his minions can only possess living things, not objects, therefore, Satan took hold of Peter. Jesus wasn't talking to two different individuals. So, yes. Satan possessed Peter for a short, short time.

I am still learning, but because God gave humans free will and freedom to choose, there are certain rules God imposes on Himself. Technically He can do whatever He wants to anyone and there’s nothing we could do to stop Him, but He never forces, coerces, or manipulates in a deceptive manner. He also limits Satan’s and the demons’ ability to take control of humans, and they can’t do that without our permission (they are required to follow the same rules - all through the Bible God demonstrates how important justice and fairness is to Him). But Satan can influence other humans to force and coerce as he did in getting Jesus crucified, and the Catholics to burn Protestants at the stake in the Dark Ages. There are certain choices we can make that give demons permission to exert various levels of influence on us, so I want to be VERY careful about what kind of entertainment I bring into my home and into my mind. That may seem harmless, but it has the potential to open doors I do NOT want to open! This is why Bible study and praying for the Holy Spirit’s guidance in spiritual things is so important.

@@Your_Truck_DriverYou’re saying Peter was demon possessed? I think he didn’t fully understand the Kingdom of God or Jesus’ mission yet, and Satan could have been using Peter’s words to tempt Jesus. That doesn’t necessitate Peter being demon possessed. I do believe people who claim to be Christians but constantly bring the wrong influences into their lives could eventually be possessed. Jesus did tell James and John “you don’t know what spirit you are of” when they wanted to call fire down on Samaritans who rejected Him. Luke 9:55

Sports are the pleasures of this world not of God! It is of the world and it has conformed our minds to be like the world. But we will obey God until it comes to what we like then we act like being a follower of Jesus Christ has now become a buffet. Pick and choose what you like regardless. Roman's 12:2 Colossians 3:1-2

There's is no way can the Devil have a possession over God's children according to scriptures. One scriptures Luke 10:19
So if God has given you power over all the power of the Devil how can a true follower of Jesus Christ be possessed. Only a hypocrite or fake christian demons fear not. Say amen if you feel this scripture. To many fake christian today! Hypocrite's can be possessed because they or not with God!

Isn't playing sports a way of physical exercise? Isn't running a sport? What about swimming? C'mon people. We cant pick and choose what we define as sport or not. I definitely agree with no sports at all on the Sabbath. But not play sports altogether?! Give me a break.
And by the way, the verse in Isaiah has nothing to do with sports. In the hebrew context and culture in the OT, the foot means possession. Im an SDA but this pastor is way off track. Mercy!
I think it’s the “competition “ aspect of sports. It is good for exercise but not for gambling or competing.
Btw, Ryan Day could benefit from getting involved in any kind of sports

What is there to pray for when the Bible clearly shows us what our original diet to keep us healthy is suppose to be. Plus we have access to information that can also help us.
