A couple of months after we'd broken up, my ex moved to another country where he didn't know anyone. He repeatedly texted and called me because he was feeling lonely and I would always pick up the phone to console and distract him because, well, I still loved him. Hearing his voice, his laugh, gossipping with him, talking about music and videos games, it felt just like when we were together. Of course, I was well aware of the fact that he was emotionally manipulating me and deep down I knew that this was going to be a short lived thing but I just couldn't resist him. As soon as he'd met new people, he stopped reaching out for me and we never talked again. He never genuinely cared about me. Needless to say, I was devastated. Long story short, this song reminds me of these times.

Have known and loved this song since its release, but I just heard this again on BBUK as the background to one of the housemates hearing their mothers voice for the first time in a couple months and if that wasn't heartwarming enough, this piano playing softly in the background made it all the more hard hitting. Nina is a treasure.
This is actually and honestly one of the songs that touched me emotionally more than I expected. So underrated, great job though!
The scene of her cutting her hair...urg I remember doing that just to forget and trt to let that hurt inside go. Every strand or piece of hair that drops you feel all the emotion just letting it go and until you are feeling so raw inside that you feel like you are going to burst!!
