Gatlinburg Mountain Coaster on-ride HD POV @60fps

At 2500 feet in length, this Wiegand alpine coaster is the shortest of the four alpine coasters in the area but still a very fun ride and well worth trying out. This video was filmed at full speed throughout the ride.
The Gatlinburg Mountain Coaster is located near Pigeon Forge in Gatlinburg, Tennessee.
Also called mountain coasters, these gravity-operated rides installed on a hill or mountain utilizes a track made of stainless steel tubes. The sleds are designed to not come off of the track during the ride and riders control their speed by applying or releasing brakes connected to levers on each side of the sled.

It’s all fun and games until you look back and see something from the woods chasing you.
Why was I thinkin this😂😂
New fear unlocked
I thought about that
Lmao!!!
Thinking the exact same. Just hope like hell your not going 5 mph when you hear him coming. Lol. Be putting my feet outside pushing
This is a alpine scenic coaster, and its uniqueness is the point. I would love to ride this, it's not a thriller, but still fun.
I think some of the comments are unfair. Not all coasters need to be Kingda Ka.
We're all roller coaster enthusiasts here guys, where's the love?! lol
I'm not. I just wanted a few cheap thrills watching the guy fly up and down some hills and curves.
AGREED, I LOVE Space Mountain, but it only goes like 28 MPH.
toddles9 if you ever ride ride it 1000 times because here is so much to unpack with It it’s amazing
I agree
toddles9 it's a whole lot faster in real life! On the downhill part the speed is 45-50mph
It is much faster in real life and it is super fun and at night the coaster lights up
Just Mello yep
Just Mello you are so right because then you can't see where you're going and then there a hard turn out of nowhere!! Atleast my that what it was in my experience
Just Mello your so right
Just mello ikr I’ve been on it at night
The thing is so fun
Read the description and skip to 3:24 for all of those who are complaining
Ashley Gonzalez doesn’t really change much to be honest it’s still extremely slow
William Edwards it stays slow the whole time. It’s so you can relax and enjoy the nature
Emily Woods Music!!! It’s slow because he’s pulling the brakes. I went on this ride and it’s goes fast if you do it without them.
Sophie Balazs oh ok. It just wasn’t TOO fast lol
It looks like it'll break if it goes any faster
I road this on our recent trip to Tennessee. The uphill was very serene and beautiful. The downhill was a rush! It goes a lot faster than it looks. My son (age 8) was screaming for me to put on the brake. It was the highlight of the trip for me.
How much did it cost?
Well you entered if not the best state in all North America
ahmed sadiq like 10 dollars per person
IamSuave I went on this about a year ago over spring break and it was the scariest moment of my life. I was going like 80 miles per hour and had no idea how to control it bc i wasn’t listening in the beggining like i was trying to but i kept zoning out and at the end i rammed into to this really old guy and got hurt and jerked forward. I felt terrible and kept saying sorry so many times and asking if he was okay but he was so mad at me and just ignored me with a nasty look. i I heard a ringing in my ear for the next minute. never did it again. but like bruh why is a 70 year old on this anyway
Yea me and my daughter (age 11) road this and whats funny is she kept telling me to go faster and i was going as fast as it could go
From what I can tell about this the best thing about it seems to be that you ride by yourself without a bunch of other screaming idiots to drive you nuts in the background. Would definitely love to try this out if I’m ever in the area
There very fun 😀
This at night would be terrifying like going through the woods pitch black going to the top would be mad scary
Lol I'm in
It lights up
i rode this at night and was terrified at first but the adrenaline rush was so worth it
No
It lits up
I’ve been on this ride. It’s definitely more of something to enjoy because of the surrounding, then the thrill. It’s very quiet and calm up there.
My family goes to Gatlinburg at least three times a year and obviously its not a high thrill ride but it is worth it. The scenery is amazing.
Wow
what the woods???
Kalyn Walker same
I am happy you enjoyed it, but not for me. but that's ok.
exuctly!
If you consider the beautiful sights and great smell of the mountains how could this not be a wonderful experience?
The moment you turned around and see an 800 pound grizzly bear chasing you
@@ElizabethElfgrove LOL
These are so neat. I'm not an outdoors, woods kind of person but I could just put this on loop and ride it all day long. 💖
I loved this coaster! It was SO MUCH FUN!!
For me it doesn't seem boring. It's just that it takes long to go to the very top of the hill and then the drop is fast and nice. I would ride for sure. Amazing stroll among nature! ❤🌾
Been in this ride and lemme just say: save your money. Plenty of great rides to see nature, including gondola rides. This is just a zip through some trees and dirt and it’s way overpriced.
Dragonscale DJ yes same
Dragonscale DJ don’t waste your money 💰
Yes.i agree
Dipingere con acquerelli
The last 45 seconds was great!
J Marconi True...
That's what she said.
Also you can go faster, you control your own speed.
Yeah my dad does that alot he makes us go fast
DrViS Frtin what about to tree leaves in the rail?
What??? And make a short ride even shorter??
THE HELL YOU SAY!!!!
Sheeeeeeyuutt!
I AM GOIN'!!
I'd let it go as fast as it can just to see how fast it is lol
What a terrific way to admire the scenery. Love it
Enjoyable! Riding via your camera seeing all the woods going up and fun trip going down. Thanks for posting this. Haven't been to Gatlinburg since the 70's. Understand much has chenged. This looks like fun!

Microsoft Sam Reloaded yep
no it didn’t
It starts off so slowly I was waiting for Dueling Banjos to start playing in the background, looks like relaxed fun for sure.
For those of you thinking it’s slow, trust me, I went on it twice, there are levers on the sides that alow you to control the speed, I’m guessing he held onto them tightly
Where is this located, it seems fun
Smwmq
msmmmwmw banane
The Marvel Master I live in Knoxville and I want on this you are right
I went on this ride too.
The Marvel Master ooooo
I can fix this, make the speed 2.00x, done
Done! Thank you!
Its still slow.
It looks like it slow but u chose your on speed if u want to go fast then u can go fast if U want to go slow u can go slow
Hahahaha. I was waiting for it to be faster until i saw ur comment..... 😂😂😂😂
Thanks
3:33 = start
♥Thank you♥
That was FUN! Thanks for the ride!❤️😃
I love mountain / forest coasters, we gave one at lightwater valley here in the UK. This one looks much bigger, i'd love to ride it especially at night with all the lights guiding you through the dark woods.
Imagine while you're riding on it. Then you saw those Wrong Turn killers. I bet he would run faster than the coaster 😂😂
Thanks for 5 minutes of staring at your boots while you crawl across
Reginald Wigglebottom...😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 I was just about to put that
This ride lovsFune
At least you know what boost are
Ikr it's so slow looks boring and no intense parts
This is better off becoming safer and more secure and for young kids.
The first part is scenic. That's what Gatlinburg is all about. The second part is fun. Thanks for the ride.
I like the part after 3:24! My son and I are planning a trip to Gatlinburg in early November and this is on our list.
I loved this ride! I went on it and it was amazing!
I always think if they build roller coaster around the beautiful nature that could be the most beautiful relaxing ride I would get on
I saw the coster the other day and it looks really good!! Love your videos!!
I love it!! It stays in the woods, close to the trees!
One of the fastest roller coasters ever
Lol
Your able to go faster
Wow XD
Faster than the speed of light!
Yes
Wake me up when it's over. 🐢
Rachel Gibson || or just click away?
you missed an "all"
Jordan Gaughan no he missed an "all". wake me up when its "all" over
Jordan Gaughan dont say things if you dont know what you are talking about
My turtles are faster then this lol
I’ve been on this it’s so fun u can control your speed and it was a peice of cake it wasn’t even to scary
Oooo! I love that ride! I went on it at night and there were sting lights on it, it was so cool! :D
The Three Roblox Cousins I come here all the time I went to the new pirates voyage
What if there was a bear in the mountains waiting to eat you, that'd be scary lol
True that but you are able to adjust your speed and go a lot faster if you do encounter one
There are bears! Took a one way scenic road on motorcycle. Traffic stopped- two cubs way up in tree with momma at the base. Scared s____ess- about two miles from this ride! Conceivable you can encounter one. Maybe the only one in America with that issue.
Or a cougar wanting to seduce you. Frightening!
NickPeeezy.... There are 3 bears waiting. Bring them Sugar Smacks and they won't bother you. 😂
at least that would be exciting. you know should do that for holidays. have a fake couple in front during the slow part. have then taken out r killed fake blood everywhere and they get dragged out. be so much fun then??? lol
I watched this whole video thinking at some point it would actually get faster.....
I think so
it would actually get fast
My 2
It does, therefore you did not watch to this videos entirety.
Totally a waste of time!!!!!!
First part is the climb
Then the ride!
BEAUTIFUL EXPERIENCE 💕
Thanks for posting. We got married there👍🏻
Ahhhhh...I stayed in Gatlinburg one night in a motel with my mom. Driving from Houston to Atlanta to see my dad while he was working there. I would have LOVED this had I known about it.
I went on one of these things before when I went on vacation in Vermont. I don't remember the name of the place we went to there though. It was a couple of years ago. I don't really like most coasters because of the drops but the mountain coaster I went on was like this one and there was no really steep drops and I kept the speed on medium. It was fun.
You should see it at night it lights up and it is soooo beautiful
Love these rides. I was just in Gatlinburg last week and rode the Goats on the Roof coaster. Never did this one, but will next time down there
That is dope!!! Thanks for the vid!
Who else tapped the the right part of the screen like 50 times
Lol me
he said skip to 3:24 to see it
I had to speed it up 2x
Guys it's not about the speed it's about the view don't you get it😩(kinda like a lazy river)
Yeah, it really bugs me how people are just saying "most boring roller coaster of all time". The point of the coaster is to be a fun, slightly speedy journey down a mountain through the woods. It's unlike the classic roller coasters at amusement parks- can you imagine this if it were a B&M? You wouldn't feel alone in the middle of the woods anymore. It would kill the vibe.
Well then he should have showed us more of the view instead of his jeans and works shoes.
@@moontidesealily I suppose that's fair, though the video is meant to be a point-of-view video from the train staring forward. Had the camera looked away, it would have been more confusing, as we wouldn't have the peripheral vision to be able to figure out what was actually going on. A good alternative would be a 360 degree video- there's actually one I found that is similar to this alpine coaster, just about 10 miles away:
ruclips.net/video/RypPGy22tG4/видео.html
What a view of all the trees they cut down and never really cleaned up... I mean, come on, where's the strip mall?!🙄🤔
Judy Saghir: Well, if a view is main point of this totally boring coaster-riding, then I do want to know, why we had to staring at someone's boots all that time instead of that view? The actual view itself, I mean that very little part of it I could see from the video, wasn't made me amazed neither, so now I have to ask again, what is the real point of all this coaster-riding?
I don't know about you, but I have to say, that when I watched this video, I fell asleep in first 30 seconds and just because of boredom of that ride. So I'm pretty sure, that I'll fall asleep on actual ride as well.
Awesome vide, looks so much fun, well done. Thanks for sharing. :)
wow cool. i can't wait for this... were planning a summer trip in 2020 :)
It took me a bit to realize how cool this coaster is for its unique style. I'd like to ride it one day. I will go as fast as possible on the downhill! :)
I don’t think there’s a gas pedal
Edit: or just pedal, sorry used to saying gas pedal
Looks great for me! I don't like heights and dropping straight down, so this is perfect and the views!
@Mallorie 24 McAvenue, I'm with you and I'm 47.
That looked fun! We'll definitely have to try that when we're in Gatlinburg!
Finally a little excitement towards the end. The slowest moving rollercoaster ever.
If your into just trolling around the woodland and relaxing this is the coaster to ride. If your looking for a thrill, maybe not so much! But nice video nonetheless thank you 😎👍
I can remember 2 years ago when I went skiing I went on one like this in Austria, and yeah it does quick down all I can remember is me screaming and saying pull the brakes🙂
This is actually really fun. I went a few years ago and it has a brake for you to control but my dad and I didn’t use it(which makes it better)
There’s also levers on the ride that you can push down to make you go faster. I can’t wait to go back and ride this
Roll a doobie and sit back enjoy the high i mean ride
NY ́s Finest do not Bump!
Oh indeed
Disgusting
yeah then Sasquatch grabs you and takes your dope lmao

I’ve been on this before and it is slow at first but the scenery is amazing
Ive been on this! Me and my dad rode it together speaking of which me and family and friends are going this weekend! :3
Best video I had ever seen
for everyone saying that this is boring:
if you have not been on this then stop complaining. the ride is not meant to be thrilling but it’s beautiful. everytime i am there i get to see wildlife everywhere and enjoy the fresh air. i love this so much and just remember this IS NOT made for speed.
Dude that thing was so fun when I went on it lol
I love this ride I’ve rode it a billion times
È immerso nella natura!!! Non ho mai visto niente di più bello!!?
I rode this and it's so freaking cool
Now just imagine a tree falling on the tracks
Dan Nicohlas No😒
That actually happened when I went on.. it wasn’t on the actual track, but close enough..
Carmen Kittle Yeah Right..
I was thinking the same thing
IMAGINE?!?! When I build mine, it'll be part of the main attraction!
Alpine coasters are fun. I rode one in colorado and could've riden it all day. It was a blast.
I just rode this yesterday! It was awesome!
I went to one in pigeon Forge and it was nothing like this! You went up the hills for 10 minutes and went down 11 minutes and when you went up it was way faster and the hills were like straight up, it was so so so so fun!!!!💞💞
Pineapple Octopie woe
Pineapple Octopie I past one in pigeon forge maby it’s the same one
Yeah I've been to Tennessee and pigeon forge is way better. I mean the hotel we stayed had in indoor water park!!
I’ve been there it’s one of my favorite ones down there
Edit:I’m pretty sure it’s called the original alpine coaster
Went on this at night! Super cool! 🥰
Me and my dad went on that in August of 2018!
I’m here after reading the news about someone getting thrown off this thing and several injuring themselves.
Same here 🤣🤣🤣
Probably because they didn't follow the guidelines
Same
My uncle went full speed on the lever one an got a scar and at the time you could see his bones😬
That sound scary there no way i doing it now
Gatlinburg is so much fun and so is that ride
Can't wait to get there and do this..
Wheeee! That looks like Fun!
Nick Sullivan
I think so too😊
Only if you are 4
OMG nursing home..shoes..lazy river.. lawn mower faster.. the I seen your Wheeee!!...I'm dying laughing!!!
It is I've been on one of those.
Descent at 3:24.
I can look at the ground and see how high up the ride actually is. So going on a slope, yeah, I could see it picking up momentum at that point. He had more deep breaths at that moment too.
Looks like so much fun
Wow, that was amazing, like actually being on it!
Hey, uh, I think the ride is meant to be slow so you can look at the trees.
Finally, someone who makes common sense
Thank you wise one
In the coaster you can brake.
@@Frank-st8ig it's an awesome idea, allowing you to stop and take in the atmosphere
It's a bit faster than what it looks - after that second hump going down 3:50 it cuts loose. The cornering is tight and quick with very little banking. Even though you don't go upside down, it's still pretty neat. Hard part is leaving the parking lot trying to get back into traffic going left into Gatlinburg 5:13.
I think I can speak for the majority of the people on here that we would like to see all and any of your coaster rides in real time so we can experience just a little bit of realism in what we are about to explore and expect from the actual ride itself.
?? This is in real time.
Im using my dads phone and thought i should comment that i used to live in Tennessee and actually did this for the first time a few years back with my grandma and it actually goes faster than it looks. I highly recommend coming here to do this if your visiting Tennessee
I’ll watch the grass growing video after this
Could you shush
seems kinda (yawn)slow!
lol
It's about the view
Hunter Roberts
oh ? true, cool! it is a nice veiw huh
I was thinking "rollercoaster"(fast lol)
Smitty it's pretty fast when you have 300 pounds on one those at full speed. I was at about 45 mph
You control the speed.
Lol 😂 haha
edge of my seat, then it go fast! fell out of my seat! do not have such thing in india thank you so much for sharing so one may experience who does not have such thing
That looks like fun I wanna get on that when I visit the smoky mountains
that was extremely underwhelming!!
mrabrasive51 put the speed at 2x
Even a baby could ride it at the speed that it was going
GamerToby YT Sorry it's one person coaster.
Amazing coasters love it👌
There is a similar one in branson. I hate rollercoasters, but I really liked these type of rollercoasters. I can take my child and we can enjoy the view. Very family friendly and I love that.
