This is why I go (and play) at small traditional churches. KJV bible, traditional hymn books, avoiding all this modern... Christian (CCM) music. I've been amazed as of late how many entities try to get a piece (however small) of a church. Hopefully I can get some pastors to watch this and quit playing some of the music they do.

If I only have the basic streaming license, and I arranged my own version multitrack I created based off a song composed by someone else, is that legal to do and livestream? Not using any master tracks or recordings.

What about if a church member records and posts a song or two on their FaceBook page? Like on FB live or just a partial song. Or a band member uses that same video and posts to their RUclips page?

Question for Nate and you thank you for taking the question we have all of the CCli licenses including the streaming plus license we are now testing out the loop community with our first song with all the proper credits at the end of the RUclips video which is a song performed in church that we want to open the service with. Could you address what CCL I license should be included in the credit video portion that would indicate to RUclips we have purchased the track through loop community and have the proper licenses to produce and stream the video on RUclips that’s eliminating the copyright claim.
Do we have the “permission to use” under all of the Ccli licenses combined with purchasing loop community track?

As nate says in the video, churches have found favorable results by including the details of their licenses in the description of the video! Try including this and hopefully you will have better results going forward! And yes, if you've purchased tracks from Loop and have the CCLI Streaming Plus license, you do have permission to use the tracks!

Referencing to (The You Project) would that include Master Recordings. I spoke to a Rep from CCLI today and they said if we used any portion of song we would have to go to a third party forum such as our web page or Vimeo but technically we couldn't use song on our facebook or youtube page. Is this true? Thanks

You technically would be covered legally to use the track on any platform under the CCLI Streaming Plus license. However, RUclips and Facebook have algorithms in place to detect copyrighted material that aren't necessarily looking for the proper licensing. You can still use those platforms but we'd recommend using either Premium or Community tracks whenever possible to deter this from happening!

We are needing some additional information on this. We are placing CCLI license numbers in our descriptions and still getting flagged. Should we be adding these differently?

Unfortunately at the end of the day there won't be a way of guaranteeing that this won't happen. The best advice we can give is to utilize Premium and Community tracks to help negate this. Hopefully there is a solution in the future for this!
