I know you wanted to grab the hose and do it yourself, but you did a great job restraining that urge and did an excellent job instructing him.
The new guy is doing well but you need to tell him to move his foot instead of soaking his new boots 😂seems to be happy to try, needs to have right hand machine haha 😜
It looks so easy when you do it, but Mitch does his best, he listens and tries to put your words into action, he will get there, but he has some big shoes to fill. Give him time! You didn't learn it overnight either.
Gavin, thanks for taking on a young worker and being willing to pass on your skills and experience, this is half the battle. The other half is the willingness for Mitch to learn and hunger to do the job right the first time. Mitch looks like he is a good fit so hopefully you will make a good team.
Nice one, Mitch is a good apprentice and you’re a good teacher 💪🏼👍👏🏻👏🏻
Lots of energy and seems to be doing well.
Great job training your apprentice. It is tough to step back and let the learn by doing. He may be slower than you now, but in a few months, he'll build confidence and knowledge. Speed will slowly come and he'll be able to work alone.
Mitch is doing well and listening to you. Great apprentice and great tutor. Watching from Christchurch New Zealand
Mitch seems to have good instincts. I think you'll be a great team.
Looks like he’s picking it up ok 👍🏻
Hi Gavin and Mitch, A great test will be if the nozzle gets stuck, how will he fix it...I hope it doesnt..You have a great teacher Mitch, hang in there..Stay Safe Watching from Tassie ❤️🙏👍🤗
Doesn't matter what job you do, we all have to start some where, good luck Mitch
Well done Mitch. You might want to watch the more than two hours long 'special Mini-Masterclass' that Ollie just put out ;)
Great idea! I found it really interesting and I have nothing to do with the job!
I agree, It was great..
Gavin remember sometimes you need to get soaked to remember the steps. Remember he is a young Jetti who needs to learn. Your patience will get him a long way.
Mitch is doing well. I’m sure he knows what a great opportunity you are giving him. Well done both of you.
It will take time to get the feel of roots/pipes. Watching things you do gives me ideas of how to make things safer/easier. if you have a piece of rubber flap, like from a truck innertube, with a couple of strong magnets, and put it over that down pipe, it would hold itself in place, although the pipe may be aluminum, so then a strap or clamp.
Nice work Mitch, keep feeling them roots...Great job done as always Gavin. Love your content mate. Kindest Regards from England.
Mitch, I have met you. You're a great worker you did a great job at my place now. You're jetting.
If the boss wasn't hanging over your shoulder, he'll even do a better job. You'll get great at this, don't give up?🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪
Great job Gavin and Mitch. Not easy to train someone when you are used to doing it all yourself, but you were great with him Gavin. He seems to want to learn and is willing to listen. I think he will be a good fit and will get the hang of it the more he does it.
Mitch, turn the valve all the way once you are in! You got the hose/nozzle twist down like an expert!
Mitch is doing well & he listens to picking up information like a sponge.
I think Mitch is going to do well. He is listening and learning. 😊. Good job Gavin and Mitch.
There is potential there for sure. My opinion, for what it's worth, is for Mitch to watch every one of yours and Ollie's videos. Those are all great training vids for him. Seems like he walked onto the job with no idea how to handle the equipment, work the nozzle, or even where to stand. You will be great Mitch, just binge watch these legends and soak it in!
Tennis balls, toads and roots! I'd say he did just fine!
Laughing, at the moment for Mitch so much info to take on board and use, in a week or so he will be wondering why he was having issues as it becomes second nature. He's a keeper.
Rooots 😂 Well done Mitch 👍👍👍
Best way to learn is hands on He doing fine You can’t beat experience Well done
Your training is very good for the young man. He is learning all that you are showing him.😊😊
#1 reason for saying he's a keeper - he listened and reacted to what you said. He might not have your experience but it seems like he's willing to learn.
Feel the force young jetter.
He listened well and seem to be trying hard learning is part of theprocess
he's a keeper 😎👍
I think Mitch has lots of potential. He listens to instructions well and doesn't have a "I can do this without your help" attitude like some people do.
He is doing great repetition, common sense, a lot of multitasking and he will succeed✌🏻😎 god job Gavin
He's doing a good job. Hell of a teacher.
Has a darn good teacher so no reason for him to not be good? Its hard standing there teaching someone to work like you do, been there sir. Think he will be a good student for sure.
Went from drain unblocking to comedy draining! 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😅😅😅😅😅😅
Everybody has to learn. Everyone makes mistakes. What makes a good employee is you don’t make the same mistake twice.
This is when the student becomes the master of the master 😁
Great teaching
So glad to see you have help you are a fantastic mentor ❤❤❤❤ well done ❤❤❤❤😊😊😊
The sign of a good teacher is to show your trainee what to do and allow them to give it a try, make a mistake, learn from their mistakes, and try again. Your patience will pay off everyone needs to start somewhere. Mitch has got the best to show him the ropes. Passing on your knowledge Master Plumber Jedder. The force is with you.
Mitch did really well wish him all the best on the job Watching from London England UK
Gavin, mith has potential he did very good.Gavin u are teaching him very well .keep up the good work happy flushing rooooooots
The young lad did a fine job. He listens to every word you say, and does what you tell him to do. Damn fine employee in my books. Let him loose and retire, lol.
There is only 1 way to learn and that is to do it 👍
We love you in the UK I'm from Worcester in Worcestershire thumbs up job well done all good
Give him time and practice all will improve try to remember what it was like when you first started😊
Instructions for installing sod. "Green Side Up". Learned it from my elders. Dad's still independent at 95yrs.
He's learning great, Gavin. Try not to micromanage his every move!
Haha, try not to micromanage his micromanaging 😂
@@nancycaird7872 That's a good point. I'll shut up now.
@@nancycaird7872 You're right. I'm sorry.
He's got a good mentor 👍👍👍👍👍😃😺🐺🇺🇸
It’s all in the attitude. If he has a good work ethic and an accommodating attitude, half your job educating him on the finer skills of drain cleaning are done. Patience and giving good tips will work miracles. You’re a great teacher Gavin!
Your new guy is doing good!
He already has a lot of skill and will make a great addition to the team, just don’t become a micromanager, allow him to ask questions. So it’s not just your decision it’s his to😉
Mitchell has potential if he slows down a bit and learns the twists and turns of the trade. These things do however come with time. He does seem eager to learn though and appears to be a quick study. Another great video Gavin. Hello to Mrs D and the Sweet Peas.
I'm an armchair viewer so take it with a grain of unexperienced salt... but I think he has a lot to learn. But if he's willing and he can remember as he does, pretty sure you can teach him the skills Gavin! :)
Oh and good attitude is half the gain. Ans he's got it! :D
Mitch has real potential I reckon. Must have been watching your vids for sure cos he almost seemed to do things before you mentioned it 👍👍👍
What you want is competence and enthusiasm for the job. Competence to work out what you're dealing with, work out a plan of action and clear the drains. Enthusiasm to deal with customers, clean up after you're done and keep driving from job to job.
I'm sure Mitch has most of that already, which is why you took him on. There's plenty of work in Brisbane's drains to keep him busy and wages earned.
Nice job by Rich there Gavin but only by your guidance though . You will make a man of him yet for those roots .
Well it depends on the teacher I think he's got a good teacher😊
He's not you Gavin but he does show potential he's not afraid to go slow and ask questions. I think you got a winner.
He looks like a good fit for your team
He's eager to do good in front of the boss so he's trying to hard to go fast. We've all done it no problems with it though, he'll settle down as he gets used to it. The best teacher is experience so just keep being a good guide and I think Mitch will make a good addition to the team. Do keep on the standing back from the pipe thing though. Safety, safety, safety. Don't want him getting hurt with a rock coming out at those speeds.
😂😂😂
New broom 🧹🧹🧹 sweep clean 😲😀😀😂😂😂
Mitch got a great job for life keep listening Mitch great teacher Gavin
I think he will do fine with a bit of practice and your advice.
Mitch is doing ok under your great leadership Gavin 👍🏼 he’s got good potential
Mitch is doing very good . Confidence will come with practice
Great work as always gavin.❤ mitch gets a gold star🌟 . He's sharp and didn't kill any toads ,so good job🐸
Just a little more tan and more training by the master plumber (you) on method and ethics and he should turn into a well trained plumber. A lot depends on what type of person he wants to become. He has a good teacher and role model!
a good mix of enthusiasm and considered response
Mitch did really well. He at least listens to you! He will find his own variations but he is being taught the safe way to do things.
I'd hire him , good job Mitch ,,,
Great video/job Gavin and Mitch 👍🏻💯 I'd be over the moon if you were teaching me Gavin, and it looks like your apprentice is too 👍🏻 I did notice the fella in background taking tips 😂 as for Mr 🐸 he's out looking for a paracetamol 🤕😆
Have a wonderful day Gavin and family ❤
Doing great!
Keep up with the good work love watching your videos on RUclips many Christmas to you and your family
The old buyer beware phrase. 😢
Mitch is doing well....well done guys ❤❤❤❤❤
Mitch is under pressure -- 50,000 viewers assessing him LOL
Have to say Bruce you are a very good trainer, you explained all possibilities and never let him think he's not up to the task,10 out ot 10 for the boss man and a good learning curve for the newbie.
Gavin. Bruce is a different channel 😉
@22Purplemist my bad, But the opinion is the same mo chàrà
Young buck has the energy and potential but it will take a fair number of years before he’s a fully qualified bloke
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Yes he will make the grade. X
ya let that poor child fill his boot full of water.
Good job 👍🏽
@GavThePooAndRootMaster
Gavin, great to see you training up a young boy, instead of taking the easy ROOT of hiring an out of work experienced plumber.
When you hired him, was he completely green behind the ears, or had he had some experience, or Tafe education on caning Cane toads, ripping through roots, loosening stools, avoiding wet wipe tangles etc?
I Guess all that comes with experience, like NOT pushing poo 💩uphill! 😅
10:46 If that was me, I'd be building a universal nice see through splash guard for that situation. It would attach to the down pipe (quick attach / release) and would stop spray above 400mm. This means no sewerage / muddy water in the face / on my shirt.
I have thought 🤔🤔 of something like that long ago 💭💭
He's doing well, he will gain experience the more he does. A penetrator in the making! 😊😊😊
learning by doing
The first class should be how to say roooots.
Much potential! 😅
All the best for Christmas Gavin an all
That home owner just has that EVH cabinet amp sitting outside 😢😢😢
How many of your "training" videos has he watched?
Of Course he has Potential, he's being Taught by the Very Best. How good was the Very Best when he First started 🤔
A good guy mate 😢
Mitch, is doing like a Pro, really, his arms twisting the pipe is excellent; in and out with the nozzle is great; only thing , at first he left the pipe real far away and eventually he brought it closer to him. He is energetic and listens to the INSTRUCTOR, this wood help a lot. IF HE REALLY WANTS TO BE LIKE YOU...HE WILL. HE CAN. He got potential. He has to make up his mind ''this is what he wants'' then there won't be a problem. Another step for him to deal with is SEWER, real sewer, if he pulls through with that, then he is good to go; then next hurdle will be buying the van and equipments. THIS IS A LONG FOR HIM, AND THIS IS WHY HE HAS TO ASK HIMSELF ''IS THIS JOB IS FOR HIM''. If it is yes, then no issues, and get on with. MITCH, YOU CAN GET IT IF YOU REALLY WANT. Good luck.
Correction: WOULD help a lot.
Need to show him the team members. Haven’t been seen in quite a while. Traffic Control would have been useful on the open road you were on there. As well as supervisor Toad and mad all for assistance. Need to reincorporate them in your videos.
He seems he wants to learn and he listens to what you say.
Just needs time
Ollie did a “training” video about jetting stuff maybe have Mitch watch it. It would be a good learning video.
He needs cones in the road for passing traffic….. great job though xx
