The D.E.W. is very recent marketing (~2010) - older bottles used the word Dew in the same way as other brands like Donard Dew, Dews of Slievemore and Mourne Dew (and, switching to Scotch, Morning Dew, Duggan's Dew Thistle Dew and Dew of Ben Nevis/Nevis Dew).
