The Makita is cordless you tool(pun indeed intended) so the whole test is garbage. Also most manufacturer basically makes at least 3 versions of the same models for drills and other tools, one shit for home gamers, one good one and one professional(not different models, they look almost the same but certain parts, electronics, and materials are different, and cost different. Like Makitas dtd151($99), dtd152($200), dtd154($350). The difference in reliability, longevity, power, functions, etc is huge. So any test would have to be with the same grade from both manufacturers

You can tell that the makita guy is pushing down with more force, hence the wobble on the bit; which by the way that's the improper way to use this tool!
I've been using the Bosh Bulldog my whole life. My dad had one when I was a kid that lasted over 10 years and bought another that's still going strong like 6 years later after countless holes drilled and materials chipped
More the user. I've used those rotary hammers by Makita and if you don't try and hog they cut clean and easy. You can get many holes done without a sore hand and blazing hot tool. They aren't ment to be leaned on like we are used to with hammer drills. They do they work. I think this ones broken or something.
I remember back in the days when I was still a alarm technician learner, when my Technical Manager and Senior used to thought me never lay on a drill or put full pressure on a drill especially sds hammer drill, all I have to do is just guide it, and it will do drilling it self. I just need to hold it and guide it in. Otherwise either I will burn the drill, damage the bit or just loose my own teeth.

I like the stability of the bosch a little slower but smooth sailing. Imagine a day of drilling concrete with that makita you wont eaven be able to grab your pecker without your hand hurting LOL😅
The Bosch was slower, but you don’t have to depend on batteries, dying, charging, forgot to charge or losing the charger etc. Also, the vibrating looks a lot less, which would be more comfortable if you are drilling a lot of holes. Also look more compact. 🤔 Hmmm I kinda like it. Although clearly it takes longer to drill a hole.

I have a very similar 10-12 years old corded Makita, and a 18V cordless Bosch. I was suprised when I first used it, because it has the same power or even a little more than the old corded one. The Makita in this video is an even newer technology, a Makita XGT, a 40 V max beast, and of course it's more powerful than an 18V system. So it's not about the brands, it's about how much power tools improved in a decade.

The Makita drill is on hammer mode, and the Bosch drill is on normal mode. Put the bosch on hammer mode too, then level up. you will see the bosch is the best👍👍
They are 2 different drills. One is designed to drill through fibecemt and brick with vibration. While the other is designed to drill through hard concrete through precession.
Rotary hammer drills don't overheat from prolonged use are more versatile and have a longer service life compared to SDS ones. I am saying this after boiling up the oil on my Bosch SDS drill after drilling 34 ½ holes without stopping!!
What are you talking about? Rotary hammer drills are always SDS unless its some ancient 30 years old machine with a normal chuck. What model do you have? How long(deep) were the holes? How did your drill bit survided 34 holes non stop?

This is the drill that I cooked ( Bosch GBH 2-24 DRE PROFESSIONAL) Edit: the holes were 12cm deep into a concrete foundation! [After further examination of the drill the main part that failed is the gearbox and pump as I was able to see discoloration!]
An equivalent hilti is NOT far supreme in power. When you buy hilti you buy quality, durability and probably a service contract. Brands like Makita, Milwaukee and DeWalt are just as powerful, just built with a slightly lower quality.
Don't put too much pressure (2 hands)! Push with 1 hand while pressing the trigger, and hold the control with (second hand) Your method make it LESS efficient & effective, at the same time (INCREASE wear and load). Using no pressure or low pressure.. increase wear too. SDS drill bits and shank.. need GREASING. But avoid dust. And clean it regularly & regrease.
Bosch was drilling with less downwards pressure and is a lot older, the Makita had force applied above the drill bit with the guys both hands pushing the extra weight of the sds down, its also not as advanced as the twin battery pack Makita with brushless technology. I would still take the Bosch all day long as I only now use Bosch as I don't like Makitas batteries nor do I like the over priced Dewalt products and is a good middle ground tool with lots of shelf life.
In a vid the makita seems impressive until you have to drill a lot of holes allday long, its hammering way harder making it way more tiring to use and takes a lot more strain on the body. Its also harder to make a precise hole with the makita because it starts hammering as a jacko at instant

I think Makita is an awesome company, even though I have dewalt Milwaukee and metabo tools. But I’ve had a Bosch hammer drill passed down from my grandfather, to my father, and now to me. I think the Bosch hammer drills are the best tool they make and beats everyone else!
