Great pickups my friend! Thundercrack is a bonkers classic. It's pretty much a xxx remake of The Old Dark House LOL. Satan's Little Helper looks fantastic on Blu. Really glad I upgraded it as well. Lieberman has made some great movies. My favourite's being Blue Sunshine and Just Before Dawn. Another great vid man. Have a good weekend Rich

Thundercrack, as you say, isn’t for everyone but it’s a wild, camp, very explicit Old Dark House no-budget spoof. If people like the early John Waters stuff, they should like this. (Might put you off cucumbers for a while, though).

Hi John, Hoping your well Sir, i have heard of Film Treasures through Nigel , great editions & special treatment for video nasty movies, nobody would never of thought that unknown lesser movies, cult movies & hard to get movies would have such lavish special editions more so than some blockbuster & more known movies. Any people say physical media is in decline 😎

Always had great service from them 😁👍 I like that these almost underground films are being given a nice edition, or the chance to have one 🤩👍 I think that the boutique labels put a LOT more work into their releases than the big labels.... narks me paying £25 for the big movie and you can get the most incredible edition from 88 for £25 as well.... that's why I always try to get them in a sale 😁 keep me dosh for a nice obscure slice of trashy Mayhem I will watch many times 😁😁 yeah I think its really on the up!! So interested to learn of your initial impressions of 'Thundercrack!', John. I'm glad that you seem to be enjoying it so far, or at least are not offended by all the film's transgressions. While I don't regard 'Thundercrack!' as a great film (though I do especially cherish the late Marion Eaton's starring performance as Mrs. Gert Hammond), it is an undeniably singular work, and worth checking out by the adventurous, tolerant movie buff. I had the privilege of knowing the late George Kuchar, the screenwriter who was also cast as Bing, the gorilla-besotted carny, and the dialogue in the film is typical of the kind of florid, melodramatic passages he was fond of penning for his other films (including such shorts as 'Hold Me While I'm Naked' and 'Cattle Mutilations'). The director Curt McDowell and his friend Mark Ellinger, the composer and performer of the film's score and who appears briefly in one scene as Charlie Hammond (both these gentlemen also sadly now deceased), conceived of the film's scenario and characters, but George was asked to write the screenplay itself, and did so while at leisure at the Oklahoma City YMCA. George did not anticipate acting in the film as well, but he was asked to play Bing, and agreed to do so. He also did the makeup for Marion Eaton, coyly going by the alias Mr. Dominic in the film's credit for that service. Looking forward to hearing your further thoughts on this subject at a later time!

I did know George for a couple of decades (years after his stint on 'Thundercrack!'), and also became friends with Curt McDowell's sister, Melinda McDowell, who played Sash in 'Thundercrack!' (Melinda is a beautiful human being in every sense, her friendship one of the treasures of my life). I also once got to met George's twin brother Mike Kuchar, and commented admiringly on his inspired draughtsmanship (both George and Mike being excellent cartoonists). George's screenplay for 'Thundercrack!' was fully worked out before shooting commenced. Melinda has noted how committed and professional Marion Eaton was on the set, she being a trained and active stage actress at the time, arriving each morning with every line of dialogue consummately mastered. Curt's direction of Marion (they first met when the latter auditioned for this film) was a transformative experience for both, and they remained close friends and associates for the remainder of Curt's life (he died in 1987 at the age of forty-two).

Awww mate, I sold my copy of Satan's Helper on ebay. You could have had it if I had known. It's not very good, it's a modern movie and I hated how digitally shot it was, it look likes a Canadian soap opera you'd see on channel 5 😊 Obviously this is just my opinion and you may enjoy it, the artwork is great. The other 2 are awesome. I gotta see that Thundercrack, sounds insane. Cheers JP.
