This was a helpful review. My background in performing sounds similar to your own. I've been trying to find the right way to manage my setlist for some smaller shows. OnSong isn't the cheapest option and I've been hesitating on pulling the trigger. This convinced me. Thanks!
When I consider that I use the app at paid shows at least 4 times per week it’s paid for itself MANY times over :-)

Still using it but not as happy with it as I was.
I have been using songbook pro which has pretty good although has some flaws, it works. I'd love to check out onsong but not available yet on Android 😔

Hi Aaron. after i tap the song,my lyrics aint coming up as per the app on my ipad. My gig last night was cut very short due to the ipad Onsong app went on an acid trip. so im just trying to get a backup in case that happens again

Did you update your iPhone to iOS 13? OnSong sent an email out saying to wait as there were some bugs (when a major OS update comes it’s best to wait a while and check that all of your important apps have been made compatible). Mine is working fine on iOS 13.1.1 and the latest OnSong update from the App Store. Check that everything is up to date and if there’s is still an issue contact OnSong and ask them to look at your files. Hope you resolve it!

This video was AWESOME and so helpful. I was born in 1975 and spent my whole life gigging with index cards as a lead vocalist. About 3 years ago, I switched to the iPad but using photos is annoying and using pages is totally unreliable for some reason, not to mention, the text not enlarging at the click of a button and the SCREEN GOING DARK as you said is a musicians NIGHtMARE! YES IT has happened to me. Will be getting this app and so look forward to it. CURIOUS as to what you do as a back up.... paper lyrics in the trunk of your car???? another iPad???
Hi Michelle that’s great news and thanks. I don’t take a backup as I would be able to get by without one but taking a second device would be a smart move. It’s quite easy to back up your library to Dropbox and sync them up again.
I am looking for an app that not just has the lyrics but also shows all the chords to follow all parts and lyrics on one page.. without breaks where you have to scroll or mess with it..?
This app will also show the chords but you have to enter them yourself. If you need an app that has the lyrics and chords entered for you then try the ‘Tabs’ app.
How do I make a certain part of the song larger on this?
Just downloaded it. I can’t figure out how to get a song in there.
Look for the + icon. I like to run the ‘console’ in my Mac and do it that way.

Hi Aaron. I have not used that feature. You can go to the help section and open a support ticket and the guys at OnSong will help you out. Let me know if you have any problems.
Hey, I've been using this app for a couple of years now. I have 400 songs, I'm into the idea of sharing libraries for covers, so if your game I am game. As you know, it takes time to add songs.
That’s a great idea but I like to input the songs myself to keep the formatting the same. I’m sure there are places online where you can share and download OnSong libraries though...

Reformatting is quicker than inputting an entire song. ;)
Besides, I doubt the formats are worlds apart, how do you know they aren't the same? :D
Del Wright That is a good point but all I do is copy the lyrics in from Google and then check them. If I used chords as well I would definitely use other peoples to save time. Having said that you are welcome to my library if you would find it useful. Just email me.

No you create them yourself but you could always import other peoples files into it. Check out the ‘Tabs’ app for a searchable database of songs. I use that one too.
Aaron ,how do you obtain a songlist with chords and lyrics .i have none to transfer .all my music that i play are still on guitar sheet music books .i have a ipad pro and iphone 8 thank you
I don’t know if any official ones. You would have to find someone that has inputted some songs or do it yourself.

You can back it up to Dropbox.

I have all my lyrics and chords on hand typed sheets...very old school. Can these be put on the app some how? I don't fancy having to type in 150 songs manually. Thank you

@@donarichter4 I’m not sure. It’s worth sending an email to OnSong. I like to do it myself as I format all my songs the same way. It is possible to import songs from the ‘Tabs’ app which saves some time.

Not for me but I have the 13 Pro Max. An iPad would be easier for sure.

There is a free version and then you can purchase upgrades in the app.
All international artiste had there on lyrics screen flat on the system fixed up apart of sounds systems! I knew it and I saw it.
Yes they do but I think it’s important not to rely on the screen and only have it as a backup. It’s always best to memorize the lyrics.

Shelly Diane I’m sorry but I don’t know that either. I only use it for lyrics at the moment.
Onsong is the best, not even close. Paired w bluetooth pedal, it is great. Only reason I own an iPad! Wish they had an android or windows version...
I forgot to mention the Bluetooth pedal support. Another excellent feature!

Yes. You can import an audio file and link it to a chord chart.

Does it work with guitar tabs.
You have to enter the chords and lyrics in. I don’t think it’s works with tabs yet. You should check out the ‘Tab’ app for that.

It’s a great app!
Correct me if I am wrong, but, you are still using a binder or notebook for lyrics, except it's in a digital format, rather, than learning the song lyrics by heart.
It’s important to learn songs from memory for performance but this app is a good way to keep track of your repertoire and allows you to share them with other musicians. It’s also great for new or last minute song requests for Weddings etc. and looks much better than having a binder onstage.
Some people simply don't have the memory others do.
