I feel yunchan embraces a more extreme and harsh sound (and interpretation) in this performance which fits this set by Mussorgsky perfectly and also reminds me of early pogorelich recordings. truly a fascinating artist, im very much looking forward what else he will have to offer in the future
Of all the recordings I have seen/heard I find this one the best arranged and strongly played by velvet fingers, just like Y. Lim did. BRAVO S. Korea !🌷🌷🌷 (Netherlands-europe)
Yuncham Lim is my one of my absolute favorite pianists, but his interpretation of The Old Castle is not good. It may be the first real misstep I've heard from him. That's OK, i can always go back and listen to his astounding Rach 3.

the control and tenacity in that 2 minute tremolo in con mortuis is also incredible
