    Speaking as a drummer, one of the most impressive things about Rick is the fact that after the accident (with one arm) it never changed his sound. Who he is as a musician never changed.
    If you don't know when each song was released you'll never be able to tell by his sound. Impressive!

    • @danieljohnston1798
      @danieljohnston1798 Год назад +4

      Rick Allen is a great drummer. His best work can be heard on the first two albums, On through the Night and High and Dry, especially High and Dry.
      As far as his drumming on Pyromania, Hysteria for sure, this is not Rick Allen playing. It is a Fairlight instrument sampler (drum machine). Rick did come back and play the real cymbals on Pyromania but they programmed a drum machine for all his parts on these albums. This at the time (1982) had nothing to do with his arm as that event took place on New Years eve, 1984, two years later.
      So not to burst anyones bubble, but the reason his drumming didn't change was it was not him.

    I just wanna say R.I.P. to the RIFFMASTER Steve Clark. He was their guitarist before he sadly passed away from alcoholism in 1991 at only 30 years old. If it weren’t for him, Def Leppard wouldn’t have these amazing bangers that they had in the 80s. Just listen to that main riff! Inspired by Led Zeppelin’s “In The Evening”. Musical genius gone too soon! ❤❤❤

    When talking about 80s Def Leppard, fans often forget to mention Robert John "Mutt" Lange. He produced the albums High 'n' Dry, Pyromania, & Hysteria. Even co-wrote all of the songs in the latter two, which are both certified diamond in America, plus Adrenalize except for one track. Easily one of the most successful music producers of all time, generating or co-generating other diamond & multiplatinum albums for Shania Twain, AC/DC, Foreigner, The Cars, Bryan Adams, etc...

    DL are great people. They have been through stuff. Their drummer losing an arm from a car accident. A guitarist that died and one that got cancer. With every thing they went through they stayed together. In the case of the drummer and the guitarist that got cancer they waited for them to get better and rejoin the band. They did not replace. That does not happen much now. Great band.

    The phrase spoken at the beginning, was actually (producer) Mutt Lange who came up with that," Allen said via a video posted to the band's official account. "He was getting so tired of saying '1,2,3,4' whenever we counted in. He wanted to inject a bit of humor in there." As for the specific language, Allen says that it was also Lange's creation. "I guess 'Gunter gleiben glauchen globen' is some Germanic-sounding language.

      according to Def Leppard, it is German gibberish that Mutt Lange came up with in the studio.

    The 80's were great, I was about 13yrs. old when this came out in 1983, I'm so glad I grew up in the 80's. I had a friend I grew up with, and his parents were great, they would let us have a good time, we had a backyard full of people and his parents would play their music they liked, like the Beatles, Rolling Stones, The Who, which was great because it exposed us to great music, and they danced and partied with our music, so it was like there was no us and them old farts, because they were still teenagers or young at heart. Music can bridge all divides, whether its age or race, and I'm glad I learned that at a young age. The other great thing also was my friends Dad worked at the Arena, and he would get us a couple of free Tickets for all concerts we wanted to go to, so thanks to him I seen pretty much all of the bands from the 80's on their early tours, and some were opening acts, before they were headlining their own shows, for example Guns n Roses opening for Aerosmith, Motley Crue opening for Ozzy.

    Y’all have done some great songs from Def Leppard. You have gotten through many of their hits. May I recommend some of their early music, as well as some of the songs less heard because they weren’t released as singles. Yet, Jay loves his harder rockin music! The farther back you go, the harder Def Leppard rocks! From High n Dry: Let it Rock, Mirror Mirror, Switch 625, Their debut album: Wasted! (Jay will absolutely love it!), and from Pyromania: Too Late for Love, Die Hard the Hunter, Comin Under Fire, Billy’s Got a Gun (Amber will love Joe’s singing on those last four). You gotta do it!

    The opening lyric "Gunter glieben glauten globen" might sound like a foreign language, but it's not. It's just gibberish, and a different way to sound off "1, 2, 3, 4...".
    In the late 90s, The Offspring used this same line to open their song "Pretty Fly (For a White Guy)".
