I think it's more about making a squad that fits your system is what matters most. So I feel like this is a yes and no answer. Obviously, as you say it has to be a "believable" setup for it to work, but if they are players that fit the positions and roles and few team instructions, I feel that works best. Going by your players strengths and keeping them happy is probably the best way to win in FM.
Love your content. Have watched all your videos and like how you have put them together. I have pretty much always used a 433 DM wide successfully as I have over many years learnt how it works and what changes to make with roles, instructions , blocks etc I really like the coverage it gives and how you can flex it. Thus have not really tried your 5221. Have particularly enjoyed your squad building and attributes videos which I have incorporated and has really helped find some gems. Thank you. Keep doing some tactics stuff. Really interested in how you go about it and would soak up anything you put out. Thanks for taking time to do the videos!
Pfffft obvious to any long term FM player who knows about Internet tactics of the past hahahah. I mean my god I remember one 01/02 i THINK a short passing (there wasnt many options and i cant remember the rest) basically mad tactic where you take a 442 narrow diamond and pull the full backs up to wb's I remember my manu team with Giggs and Becks Wing Backs lol Keano DM scholes or some cheaty player Davidd Collins? at AMC and then buy 2 MCs Edgar Davids or Pirlo or somene seerdorf lol UNREAL no room for nev like hahahha or the legenady 4132 with forward arrows to the striker posistion on all 3 mcs. MAN I MISS ARROWS. 433s just dont look the same with out arrows from IFs to the ST position and on diagonal up with you AP and maybe if you were attacking arrow up on the full backs all the way to corner flag. DM up or down one. so many possibilities for shape. Also the gone now 4-1-4-1 with ridiculous curved arrows to the ST position lol but if your old enough to remember wibwob facing hell you could do SOME SHIT with that jesus wept it was infinite lol Tactics have ALWAYS been the shit in FM. A LOT less so now. I think it still should be i think the balance IS right.
