I can definitely agree that the weather in Scotland wasn't co-operating for dinghy cruising all summer! You must have walked past my boat as you launched. She was under her blue cover on the end of the hard standing where I left her for a couple of weeks to break up my dinghy cruise from Ipswich to Norway! Shame we didn't bump into each other, I relaunched on August 1st.
Oh no, so sorry to have missed you! It was rubbish. Only short bits of nice weather but always rain or strong winds after a couple of days - even the locals were upset. Really enjoyed following your adventure and I don't think it'll be matched anytime soon! I actually bumped into another singlehanded dinghy half way across to Barra (which you'll see in Part 3) - great to see some other boats doing adventurous things. Do let me know if anything brings you back to the UK next summer :)
It's a Mantus dinghy anchor- stainless steel, collapsible and just over 1kg. Holds much better than other 1kg anchors because of its shape. I've got about 1.5m of 8mm stainless chain on it.
Thank you for your video Jonathan

Is that a wee Rocna?? 👌
Close, it's a Mantus!
I'm curious what weight of anchor you use and how long is the chain?
