Hi Frugal, great to see another video. Us anglers have an excuse for every occasion & one of them is not to fish under a full moon. Can’t fault your enthusiasm. Keep trying, I can’t wait for you to get a good fish. It can’t be far off. 🐟
Another great video fella. Keep putting the hours in and I'm sure the better fish will show. Might be worth a try with a live/dead pout on one rod as an option maybe. Thanks again for sharing
Thanks dude, I'm really enjoying my fishing, I feel something is going to happen soon with a good fish, quite a few have said about using pouting for bait, so might give it a go👍
Hey buddy, that's cool man, I've only fished on between alum Bay and Yarmouth pier. Looking forward to trying different areas. If you have any tips or advise it would be much appreciated 👍
@@FrugalOutdoors totland Bay next to the pier I go opposite public toilets is good for rays. I use squid and bluie cocktail. When you do head further out I highly recommend black gang or atherfield. Both beautiful places with big fish. Try smaller hooks bud I'm no pro but I try different sizes. I use same rigs on both rods but different sizes and change rigs next time I go to the same spot
Yeah it has been mentioned about that spot by the pier. Thanks dude. Yeah I fancy going round black gang way, thinking about trying Brook aswell. Thanks for the info buddy. Really looking forward to trying to find some bream too👍
Absolutely brilliant bud, we are similar angler. I can relate to your fishing gear. Fish don’t know which brand of gear you are using. They don’t care if you are using penn, Shimano, daiwa or any other expensive brand. Well done mate
Hey dude, really appreciate your comments. Yeah it all works, and I can get a bait in the water, I may upgrade over time, when things break etc, but for the moment it's what I can justify spending. Its all OK, until my reel breaks when bringing in the big one😂😂👍
Practice makes perfect ! I think your hooks were a bit big on the flapper, try s.2,and those pout are perfect bait size for your pennel rig, either a fillet or the head, but don't tell anyone !!! HTH.
@@FrugalOutdoors It's a bit of a catch 22,but I've usually gone with one smaller, multi hook rig and one larger like the pennel,to get/try ! the best of both worlds .
Ah thanks buddy, can't please everyone, just not everyone's cup of tea. I would prefer if they made it so if you dislike a video, you have to give a reason. That way I could maybe change something if I'm doing anything wrong, or could make it better👍
hello from a fellow iow'er ,lots of good fishing spots on the island, have you tried chale beach? you can get some good rays there at the right time of year & some good bass spots around ventnor way.
Hey buddy, yeah it's great, we only moved here in January of last year, and got more into fishing from summer last year and really enjoying it. So many great places to explore and fish 👍
I have the exact same 2 reels as you there, Had them for about a year now, not had a problem with them. Hoping to get out once the travel ban is lifted later this month, cant wait Great vid here, hope it was not ordnance
Hi John, yeah they seem OK, I know they are budget, but they suit me perfectly, and for the money, they are great. It was ordnance in the end, they found 3, 2 where I was and 1 around the corner, then they exploded them all together 👍
Hey buddy, I only moved in January of last year, and started fishing a lot more last summer. I park at the top of the steps for alum Bay, take a right before the main needles complex, you cam park up there, in the evening, but I tend to drive down the lane, there are normally a few vehicles there, but like I say, I thi k it would be frowned upon in season or during the day👍
Hi Rick, yeah definitely better safe than sorry, I think they were duds, but they exploded 3 of them together in the end. I've dug worms from Fort Victoria, and colwell, both places for lug. It's really hard going, and didn't get many, but an hours digging, had enough for a good few rebaits. I've only dug twice though. Apparently there are good rag in the medina. 👍
Hi ya new to your channel really enjoyed your video have liked and subbed and would watch a live if i could look forward to your next trip stay safe 😃👍

Got to be worth a go, you fish 2 rods so you could fish pout on the one and your usual flapper rig on the other. Good luck anyway bud.
Would deffo watch your lives... The IOW has some great fishing marks.. It would be great and really exciting to watch 👍👍
Thanks squidlee, I'm very lucky here, being on the West, I've got a good half dozen marks really close. Hopefully get a live sorted soon👍

All good buddy🤣🤣🤣🤣
Hi just found your channel love your enthusiasm have you tried live put for conger they love them keep it up
Hi Nick, thanks buddy, will have to give that a try at some point👍
@@FrugalOutdoors live pout and whiting will work for most bigger fish even Ray's will take it tight lines
A very small pout could be used as live bait for big bass.
Hey buddy, yeah a few people have mentioned that. I'm thinking of having a go at some lure fishing in the summer as well👍
Hi mate,
where did you dig your worm from ? Good job you moved or the night could have gone with a bang.

Pouting love squid heads, bout the only fish i can catch with them.
Thanks Martin, I just assumed you could use them like squid😂😂probably why I catch loads of pout then😂😂. Cheers buddy👍
