LIVE IN CONCERT !
Prince with Sting!!!!!! two geniuses! I wish we can hear what he did with David Bowie!
@@HaroldGeorge-pe8gz well, it sounds good to me. BTW as much as I loveeee Prince, he din't knew how to get the best out of live stage collaborations. You can call it a Miles' revenge, I call it a lose opportunity. Competition isn't everything.
@@HaroldGeorge-pe8gz I said "live stage collaborations" not studio musicians for hire, BUT you make my point even more, I'm pretty sure Brown Mark had all kinds of opportunities to fit/be-ready/hit Prince's needs/requests, I mean he worked for him 24 hrs, Sting din't. BTW can you elaborate on "Brown Mark on bass" part? may be you can guide me and give me the timeline marks, seems like you know precisely.
@@HaroldGeorge-pe8gz Actually, you talk a lot, brag a lot BUT still you don't take time to enlightening me. Anyone can say "this is good or bad" still that doesn't mean anything. You were there that night? good for you, so as many fans from the org, and all the Prince groups etc. does that make your statement have a point? NOPE. Prince agreeing with me or not is not even part of the conversation, you actually sound like a blind Prince fanboy. To me Prince is the best thing ever, still I will not blind my self for the sake of winning a debate. AND no I can't tell you the different parts their playing, but that's not my point and it will never be, I'm not an expert, are you? in the other hand YOU CAN'T elaborate any statement you just did, because mentioning other artists and saying "I was there and and we all saw it." just shows how bad your out of arguments and that you can't debate. I can say the same exact things you just said, and will do not change anything and do not be productive and will not add anything to conversation. Enlight me expert, please.
@@HaroldGeorge-pe8gz insults? LOL! the favorite thing to do when your full of BS. Keep repeating the same thing over and over "Sting bad, Stevie Wonder good, I know, I'm an expert, your not" LOL! who's the girl now? exactly.
@@HaroldGeorge-pe8gz 😂 wow! you got me with those arguments! what's next? "my dad is taller then yours" your so infantile, I bet your the one playing videogames
I was at the previous night's gig (13th Aug 86). There was a bootleg vinyl released of the 14th (the third of a three night stint) which is where I first heard this. Have to say it was an amazing show, incredibly tight but with a real loose feel. They made it all seem so easy but also as if it was a one-off improvised event. "Luuuunn-duuuunn!" The crowd got increasingly into it and by the end one could tell everyone knew they had seen a very special performance. The screaming for encores went on and on and on - and there was an unmistakable sense of everyone having experienced something very special. What a night........what a band.....what a guy.
This Prince was everything music . No one plays the guiter like him.
Prince improved the speed of the music...flavored the sound to a level that it needed to move further from its place...and it did. " just let me hear the bass" he picked the instruments, directively...at the same time directed the audience involvement...Who does that? Was something missing? ABSOLUTELY.
He was an extremely gifted producer, among his many talents. That’s why he could do that. It’s like there 6:41 wasn’t anything he couldn’t do.
Amazing
I love everything Princey does, but I love when he covers another artist.....he does it better than the original.....the stones is ironically special....because it seems Mick GENUINELY loved Prince, appreciated his talent
Ironically enough, during a 1981 concert in Chicago opening up for The Rolling Stones was Prince & The Revolution. After about the 3rd or 4th song, the crowd booed them from the stage. Even going so far as to throw beer bottles at them. You can hear an excerpt of the crowd booing them as Prince later used a snippet of it as a sample on Pop Life
Mick apparently called Prince to say carry on and don’t let it affect you
I was there for this show with my friends Giles & Peter from Brighton Poly. It was unbelievable. None of us could speak the next day from all the cheering we’d done. Such a great time. Thank you so much for putting this audio up!
They r playin "it's gonna b a beautiful night" in the middle
This is amazing
I love this!
Man, in the 80s we are all walking around the Twin Cities to Prince's soundtrack, his sounds in our heads and all, but I think most of us took it for granted. I mean, we knew he was great, just not HOW great. We were spoiled... his various bandmates were so fucking good as well. So, so good.
Now I listen to this for the first time, and hear Ron Wood's solo, and imagine if Prince had really cut loose. Ron Wood, a hero in the Pantheon, but nowhere near what Prince was capable of.
This is one of a handful of videos I've found so far that hasn't been taken down by Princes' Management, RIP Prince, you were one hell of a performer and musician, your music will live on forever
They can’t take down the rendition of Radiohead’s Creep that Prince did at Coachella, and I’m so glad because it’s the best version of that song ever. They tried to have it removed but because it’s not his song, it didn’t work. That’s probably what happened with this too.
Wow, I was at this concert, aged 20. Thanks for finding this. Great quality too
Prince was a rock-and-roller first
The VIDEO WILL COMPLETE THIS MONUMENTAL RARE PRINCE WITH INCREDIBLE STING & RON WOOD !!!
🎶🎤🎶💜🎸🎹🎼 Miss u.. Prince. Thanks for upload!
Excellent. A video of this would be a joy to see.
Wish they had video of this, damn.
+PaulTurbo i have a video where he sings Miss You with Ron Wood i believe..only half a minute or so..i should get that on the tube here..hmm..if i get 1000 likes, lol....also have Sign o the Times at MTV awards...wish i wasnt this lazy goddamn
Considering that He had every single performance filmed since the early eighties, I should imagine this was filmed and have no doubt that it (and many, Many others) will be coming out over time.
;-)
@@NOWtheband This concert in specific was actually shot with multiple cameras.
The only bad part about that is it was going to be a "Under The Cherry Moon LIVE" kinda deal... The footage is black and white! I guess they abandoned that by the end of the tour when the Paris show was taped.
@@Leaped-nl4di - Yep, He filmed all/most of His performances.
I didn't know about it being in black & white (which is fine by me).
It'll be released one day....
🙂
ROn Wood & Sting are both struggling a bit here. I was at one of these shows! It was amazing! Not this one though. George Clinton popped up at the one I went to.
what you mean by struggle? can you elaborate? I mean Prince make everybody nervous!
@@HaroldGeorge-pe8gz I actually hate Sting and The Police, so what's your argument now?.....ignorance fanboy.
@@HaroldGeorge-pe8gz wow! avoiding the topic much? I bet your 12 years old.
I love this! Could listen to it all day!! THANK YOU!!!
Good God!Inever heard this jam!love this version!
Definitely The Revolution. Calls them out!
I love police and of course Prince, he is my genius
Rock it PRINCE ♥️
Wow I was at this gig, thank u so much 4 posting this, has brought tears 2 my eyes 💜
+Sgt Pepper is it true that Sting was really nervous?
is that Sting on bass?
Carla Gibson it is,everytime Prince said 1 time,2 time like he does when performing live Sting got confused lol, also Ronnie Wood was on guitar..
+Sgt Pepper OMG I wish there was video! You were lucky to have that experience!
I love this so much!!! Thank you!!!
I remember the various concerts in the 80's when The Roof would come out & it send the audience crazy!!! This is the only version I've been able to find! Thank you!!!
There's one more. I found this one a couple days ago♥️
How ironic he covered one of their songs. Prince opened for the Stones and was booed off the stage in '81.
+dan williams He was booed for emulating Mick Jagger,he did the same with Rick James.I'm so glad he came into his own by the time he did 1999.His stage persona ended up eclipsing them both in time.Mick,Prince , and Rick all owe James Brown.
It´s interesting indeed. On the other hand, dont know if Prince was invited by Rolling Stones to open for them. Jagger likes Prince a lot and vice versa. Prince covered at least 4 or 5 Stones songs during his career
Mick Jagger said the Stones crowd wasn't ready (if they ever would be) for the bikini underwear.
passion4posh True, so true.
The fans booed them....not the Rolling Stones.🎸🎤🎶
My musical heroes.
The gods!!
Theirs a rare Prince EP with a recording of Miss You on it which I planned to get but it has probably quadrupled in price now
Prince never released any live version of this song and never recorded it in studio that we know of .. he has his own song also called Miss You from the late '70s but he never released that either :/
www.discogs.com/Prince-And-The-Revolution-Salvador-Dali-EP/release/7094971
That is not real :/ if you said it was a bootleg I wouldn't even have bothered to write "So what?" because there are countless bootlegs with anything and everything imaginable on them .. in any case that could be any old live cut but it's probably this as one seller mentions Sting and Ron Wood and London 1986.
@@ashleyburns6752 - I used to have that one.
I LOVE bootlegs!
:-)
Anyway, someone is selling it on that page/link for £13, which isn't bad for what it is: Go get it!
Sting doesn't sound too bad. Everyone shitting on him cos his playing was a bit rough but TBH it was probably a last minute decision to have a jam and old Stingo was probably more than a little shit faced x
RIP Prince
Ce devait être assez folklorique comme jam. Les pauvres Sting et Ron devant "composer" avec ce phénomène de Prince
Sting's tried his hand at funky slap here - but this technique was never his forte, and he is more keen on doublebass jazz bass playing. Anyway he played along best he could (he must have befn stressed when Prince saud "Let me hear the bass!" @4'43 😅 But you cant say no to Prince, and this is a rare live moment !
Stings a good bass player
Myguitarbooks Guitarbooks Not that night!
@@mskisimms prince can't sing for shit sounds like a porno singer
He can sure curse like Tom Cruise though! So look out!! Have you ever heard his otherworldly falsetto!?
This is post Purple Rain Prince that that was a bad Prince Right There
im trippin over here.
I know...video!!!!!!!
Does anybody know if there is a concert out there w The Roof in it???
don't you feel like listening secret journey , now ?
: )
Ron wood overplaying. Sting sounds janky and like he got his mind blown in the 2nd verse when they did those runs. The revolution had worked it out but it's basically 2 chords so...
映像が欲しいです
?
Too true brother
yes ..ok but what?
I want the video
No video? This is an insult
No me gusta la reunión entre Sting y Prince, aparte de que el sonido es de pena
Yikes... I love Sting and the Police like crazy, but this reminded me of the time I saw the late great producer George Martin say on film that Sting was not a very competent bassist. He completely dropped his knickers in that bass performance. Cringeworthy as heck. I can't imagine why he accepted doing this, while he was absolutely nowhere near prepared.
Some say Prince led Sting into that chaos because he poached Miles Davis's bass player. Sting didn't just screw up. He also got a roasting from Prince with audience participation. That's gotta hurt.
slow this shit down, Prince..
