      Depends completely on the nutrient density of the soil our food grows in. Since most soils arevery deficient, there just aren't enough minerals in the food. Then there's the whole science of figuring out which supplements work and which don't, the biochemistry, bioavailabilty, of different forms of nutrients. Gotta be your own doctor and your own scientist.

    One video I haven't seen that might be helpful for the non-medical community is to do a thorough, visual, description of the gut and it's functions from beginning to end. When we talk about the gut microbiome....where exactly is that located? I always pictured the colon but apparently there is a pouch at the beginning of the large intestine that contains most of the microbiome? I think many people (including myself) hear "the gut" and picture the stomach or "the microbiome" and picture the colon. I haven't seen this actually described in detail in a video.

    It's interesting that we don't crave sugar as much as the bugs in our gut. Once we do a proper "candida cleanse" with some anti fungal herbs, fiber and liver support (and NO sugar on the 10-14 day diet) and then repopulate with good spore-based flora, the cravings are gone. Sugar is such a problem. At least the types of sugars that are becoming common and the amounts we are eating today. Unfortunately people don’t always think about how glucose can pass the blood brain barrier and cause a lot of inflammation.

    • @DataRostiahvili

      what you mean by bypassing BBB?

    • @selenearteaga6865
      @selenearteaga6865 3 года назад +1

      Your brain has a function that filters out certain compounds as a means of protection. for example, curcumin in turmeric cannot cross the bbb unless it’s paired with pepperine, found in pepper. Glucose, however, easily passes the blood brain barrier since it is a vital source of energy for the brain. The problem is not glucose necessarily, but in the large amount and types of glucose we are consuming today.

There is reality that never meet truth of such one-sided preaches. The most fattening item in this planet is car. Start walking. Start walking and start revolution for planting new trees, demand green cities without cars, ... starch and sugar? Yes, they are wrong, when consumed purified and beyond your energy requirement (sodas, modern food..). With almost everything else one can just agree. Always pleased with respectable Mark Hyman. great job. Does she take pre-pro biotics with her antibiotics? After a sinus infection and antibiotic augmentin, I had C-diff in 2017. I am not used to taking antibiotics at all; hardly ever get sick. This time the antibiotic wiped out my microbiome. I had to go to the emergency room. C-diff has a tendency to return if you have a weak system and poor microbiome (good gut bacteria). I started taking my probiotics since then and have had no issues with C-diff again. There are treatments for pup implantation. If she gets it frequently, ask the dr (it does heal by giving a good gut bacteria).

    I really appreciate all this content but I can't understand why they all say sugar, carbs, and starch are bad and then they recommend fruit, vegetables, and a mostly plant-based diet. All plant foods contain carbs, sugar, starch, etc. Even human breastmilk is high in sugar so this gets confusing and sounds like a contradiction but I think they just need to stop making blanket statements about carbs, sugar and starch because they probably mean stuff like cookies, donuts, chips, etc. but these are highly processed foods that are actually typically higher in fat than carbs when it comes to macronutrient composition.

      No answer yet! That means, they all just like to talk nonsense for publicity. That is all, that matters to this type of health coaches/ nutritionist or even online youtube doctors. They make videos with misleading titles and make a lot of money out of us and never ever answer to the real questions...because all they say is lie and nonese.

    Question is how do we fix the damage if it has been done over a period of time.

      Craig Clarke get rid of sugar, go gluten-free, dairy, eat organic foods, grass fed and finished meats, pasture raised chicken and pasture eggs, and finally no grains. I suggest to read Dr. Gundry book Plant Paradox or you can find him in RUclips I am healing thanks to him. Good luck.

      @@Chris-kr7ggI didn't know either until I read Dr. Gundry's book or you can listen to him in RUclips, fruit have fructose, is OK to have in moderation during season and as the doctor says should be treated as a candy also fasting will help too we usually don't eat anything after 6 pm until the next day we have breakfast around 10 am (if we are hungry) so we fast 16 hours, some people does different, but 16 hours for us works really well. Another thing, Dr. Gundry talks about lectins wich cause leaky gut, I don't hear many doctors talk about lectins, removing lectins from my diet has helped me immensely.

      @@laly6980 I have looked into Dr Grundy but I am just lost everyone says something different, whether it's vegan or whether it's avoid seed oils or fats, or eat fish but be careful because the mercury is high in fish or avoid carbs because sugar, my understanding is carbs are 3 things sugar, starch and fibre, the fibre reduces the surge of simple sugar to raise insulin, processed carbs have no nutrients as they have been stripped through whatever method they were put through and methods of cooking matter, I think, it varies apparently this is poisonous that is poisonous, everyone's bodies are different I think it's the man made chemicals and preservation and fake foods along with over eating and under exercising which is bad and stress from the mental side we all need, balance and happiness without pharma or illegal drugs and alcohol to stay healthy, I think diseased food and poverty is killing the majority of public who the government's only ever wanted as slaves anyway.

    Good westerners are now waking up to food, what when and way of eating it and what to eat. The Hindus Rishis from Great Bharatvarsh already have understood it and written about the same, thousands of years earlier.

    Does anyone know if raw unfiltered honey is useful for helping combat inflammation? I ask because I’ve got serious injuries from 52 years ago and I eat mainly organic foods to help stop the inflammation, but I love raw honey.

    It would be wonderful to sit down with your family to eat -- IF -- there was any family left alive or in proximity to their living quarters.
