if unsure if your tv cable is adjusted properly, drop the pan. at wot your tv plunger should be all the way in. at idle, the lever should be touching or slightly pushing the plunger in. also make sure you’re getting wot at the pedal. if your pedal is on the floor but your plates can still be opened manually, you have to fix that first before you move to tv cable adjustment.
As long as you have the throttle ratio correctly setup, this would be a somewhat true statement, it is a little more technical than this. The difference in touching to slightly pushing the cable to the correct distance is the difference in a destroyed transmission or a properly setup transmission. We are kept plenty busy rebuilding 700-R4 transmissions due to everyone trying to fight the fight, we created this product to take away the stress and to offer a true solution to the problem.
I say this for people who are unsure about their tv cable geometry so they can understand what's going on before buying a tv corrector bracket. @@BowlerPerformanceTransmissions
I'm new to this, I got a 700r4 cable that gets a little loose sometimes. My trans shifts too soon, and it never allows for RPM to build up when wide open throttle; makes for a lazy trans., Question... would this kit allow for shifting at later RPM's when getting on it, or is this a different issue? Thanks
hey got a question for you i have 1990 k5 blazer 700r4 trans..i just rebuild my engine and did lot of up grades i converted it over from tbi to carb so i no with out my computer i wont have no converter lock up ..so what u suggest would be the right converter lockup kit to buy i dont want to drive my truck with out it ..i no my trans may it hot with out it..let me know thanks..appreciate it..
Hey if this is not set correct will it give meate shifts or high rpms before it shifts??? I just redid the rear main in my 1989b5.7 TBI and it is not shifting right at all it's staying in I think 1st or 2nd gear at 40 to 50 mph before it finally shuts to a different gear and then sounds normal
This is designed for the 200-4R and 700-R4. We have done some customer installs with AOD units but it is not recommended for the do it your self customer. Thanks
You can normally purchase them from us, Summit, Motorstate, Dreamers, Classic Industries, but we are on a national backorder... Hopefully it will not be long
It isn't nearly as simple as you have to use a pressure gauge however our correction arm setup with a lokar cable makes life easier for the AOD. Give us a call and we can help.
This was out of stock due to the Ohio casting company being backed up for about 3 months, we have had them in stock for a long time and many of our dealers have had stock during the shortage. Sorry for the inconvenience.
Thanks for your reply. Our tru-shift does retail for close to $300 but that is a lot cheaper than a new transmission and we are having a black Friday sale on our products and tru-shift will be included starting Thursday. You need to sign up for our newsletter
@@BowlerPerformanceTransmissions when you convert to aussie dollars and shipping, thats nearly $700 aud, thats a lot of money for some brackets and a cable, can get another trans for that
If you can buy a quality 700-4R for $314.00 please sign us up and ship us a container load of them, please. Here in the US the cores cost more than that and a quality transmission is $4300 +. Our products aren’t for everyone, but for the ones that understand the insurance is worth every bit of it.
Now that did look really easy. Easiest I have seen yet.

The best and short explanation of adjusing tv cable.

This kit will help fix the concerns you have and will address the shift timing from light to wide open throttle.

Bowler's offers a complete 700-R4 Lock-up Module kit.
How does the throttle linkage hook up
The same way it always would. Nothing changes there. Our bracket includes an upper bracket for your throttle cable.

I would recommend resetting the cable it will cause shift concerns if. It properly adjusted.
I wonder if this would work for other transmissions using a tv cable. I like this over the locar cables.

You make it sound easy, but the web site is impossible to navigate. I think it's incomplete.
Sorry for you troubles on the website, we are are always trying to make things better.
If get a given kit say for a FITECH and decide to switch to something else, do you offer individual parts that aren't common to say a holley?
We do offer individual parts if it is for one of the options we offer. We list them all on our website.
is this true shift system still available for sale? I want to put a 200R4 into my 64 Impala
