  • If I can avoid any permanent modifications, I will. I was able to install this light bar without drilling into the truck, sticking 3m tape, or cutting factory wiring. Light bar was easy to install and looks great!

That thing looks awesome! Nice solutions to not permanently modify your truck too. 👍

Those magnets are a great idea. I was wondering if you have the tow package. Do the lights throw any interesting messages on your info screen tow app? Does it think a trailer is plugged in?

@@docswanson The magnets are still holding strong! I don’t have the tow package. I don’t get any errors or messages of it thinking a trailer is connected.

If you have the trailering pkg/app, it DOES NOT WORK !! You have to hardwire it.

Good job man, I’d love to have that lightbar but I absolutely suck at “DIY”. I have to see if I could have it installed by a professional lol
    Good video!

@mkvgti07 We all start somewhere, I think this would be a great place to start. the hardest part would be the reverse pin, though if your not confident with that part you can Just not connect it. other option you likely have a handy friend that can lend an assist with it :)

I tried this set up and found out the it isnt compatible with the 24 Z71 WITH the tow package. The ONLY way to make it work is wire directly into the taillights OR find a compatible led resistor for the truck. Not worth it having to do either one.

@@McCheezitz ah! I don’t have the tow package. Thanks for the heads up!

Just updated my description with the links. As far as connectors and heat shrink, that's generic at any hardware store. Thanks for watching!

Did my light bars with elmers glue. 😂. But seriously I used a wireless remote and only had to wire to the battery in my 23' Trail boss

Sticky tape doesn't work in Montana 😂

Should have used something more moisture proof on that reverse wire.

I could still slap a thicker heat shrink over and cut that if I ever need to access it. Thanks!
