Please people when you adopt a baby monkey it's a 30 year commitment. If you plan to release after a couple of years please don't humanize them with clothes and teach them how to live outdoors... Camping and tree play... Poor baby knows nothing... Plant a garden and teach them to find edible food... Poor baby... So sad... So heartbreaking...

I just heard that the lady in this video is one of the worst abusers of baby macaques. She supposedly takes them away from their mother at birth and makes money off of them while they're still young, and then dumps them when they are no longer needed. If this is true, shame on her. 99.9999% of people on here care about animals but it’s only about 50% when it comes to these things. They are easily the most hated creatures on earth, and if you research it there is actually a scientific name for it. What do you propose to do differently? I absolutely guarantee you that you would make it a week here without taking home one of the abandoned babies. You probably wouldn’t make it a day. They are absolutely going to die and horrible death from the civets or micro badgers if you don’t pick them up.
Sanctuaries won’t take new ones anymore. There are way too many already.
But you can’t keep them beyond a certain age. It’s just terrible for everybody involved. You put them back in the wild after they e got some strength and teeth and at least they have a fighting chance. It’s better than being pulled apart by the civets or swallowed by a snake.

@@vicki6624 I'm glad you asked , it all comes down to the animal not wanting you to stop petting it. Primates monkeys and apes with the exception of a few, are very jealous and tend to be very possessive. So once you start petting the animal no matter what the animal doesn't want you to stop petting it. So usually say dogs for instance you stop petting that still wants to be petted dogs usually do what? Nudge you with their nose bc that usually gets a person's attention to continue to pet the animal. There's something about the body language that reminded me of a friend's pet that was actually a stray that was very similar. Plus monkeys are very much known to bite when people are hand feedings for instance and the monkey wants all the food at once. . . . hopefully this is all making sense? My apologies if i may have used too many examples but hopefully that clarifies some of your question

Monkeys are primates and are HIGHLY CONSCIOUS of their surroundings feelings AND are INTELLIGENT creatures...I'm going to be honest ...its highly likely that a highly intelligent and emotional creature like a monkey would not be seen as a nuisance in the US. And animal activists would probably try and conserve them and place them in farms or things of that nature ...if for some reason had a high population
With that said it Is a little disheartening thinking about these monkies who are born genetically predisposed to expecting to be cared for by a mother and a troop . And they have to endure way more pain on a mental level due them being conscious of what is going on around them.
But I dont even know what the answer would be. It seems like this country is not nearly equipped at all to care for all of these things. But that's where keeping them as pets should be outlawed.

@Dotty4 Unfortunately we have the same problem here in the USA with dog and cat neglect and abuse. You can see them on the Hope for Paws channels and others that rescue dogs and cats. We also have wild animals illegally kept as pets here too. In New York, they even have Dog Police. They wear uniforms and get paid just like a regular police officer.

The maternally abandoned baby monkey is a HUGE issue. Siem Reap even has a special team to deal with the problem. They got 171 live abandoned babies this year. That’s a major metropolitan area. You come out here and it’s abandoned baby monkeys in near infinite numbers. We had seven on our property this year.
If you want to do something about monkey abuse, RUclips is a waste of time. There’s no real abuse here. You can go find that stuff yourself. It’s vile.
Not entirely above board however, is the way some people watch these videos they claim are abuse. Opposition to abuse doesn’t involve participating in it as an audience member. Which leads to two conclusions, both of which are atrocious. One is that those viewers enjoy what they see as abuse. Which makes them abusers themselves. Or they are racists who hide behind the monkeys and give voice to their bigoted opinions and thoughts.
I’m happy to accept those two types of people are regularly combined into a truly awful individual. Which one are you?

This is ridiculous! This monkey was spoiled by it's owner and not disciplined. I've never seen a monkey that extremely clingy. He's too wild. I don't mean to sound mean but maybe he needs a tranquilizer to calm him down.
These people steal them from their mothers then when its too much work they discard them like old socks. To add to their torment they go back and visit. Kunthea needs to stop torturing these babies so they can acclimate to the troupe. She is a big problem and the rest of the vo's.

Monkeys are members of the family. They are not to be treated as pets. They should be in the living area with the their human family. They should eat with their human family. They should sleep with their human family and to return them to the world. It’s just cruel.

Totally agree. Both of these people obviously raised this little boy and now are sending it to Monkey Daycare without an Alpha male and mature females. Very inhuman behaviour from human. Pets are like family members. It is rude to abandon them when they know only their owners home. These pet monkeys look lost among other monkeys. They should not be kept as pets if owners intend to abandon them later.

What seems to work best is give it to one of the others from the ex pet troop. They will teach it how things are and it will be fine unless it refuses to grow up and wants to constantly act like a baby, in which case it's never going to make it bc the others will not tolerate cry babies. And that's exactly what they end up doing.
