id drill the ball joint side to say 13mm, and the other side of the box do the size of a bit of tube, have the tube sticking up, and weld around it, that way you an get a 12mm bolt threw and be able to clamp it up tight.
Forgive me but rather than re-inventing something can I suggest this? I just caught it on YT: ruclips.net/video/4xVz9FXamTo/видео.html And here: ruclips.net/video/Z7xSudYlg70/видео.html Maybe an easier way of achieving what you need to do but rather quicker and less grief? I can see in a shorter garage the 'A' frame and wheel supports each end stick out but to be honest don't need to. A Matt Green Mk II?
Matt, I take it the jig your Dad made was too high for your garage, Take i look at my spit and you will see you need to make sure the pole or tube does not foul the bonnet landing panel so you may have to be off centre of the bulkhead hole. Dave.
cheers , the 67 is still on my dads spit , and yea my mates spit was very close to that slam panel , so will make sure mine clears i hope :) not that i have front end to check yet
Matt, Having a pole all the way from front to back will make it much more rigid as you mentioned. They used a spit in the factory for appling underseal before they came up with immersing the whole body. Cheers Dave.
Matt, What a brilliant way to rotate a Mini! I saw this video and you might get an idea or two on from it: ruclips.net/video/L5JO5SJvkH8/видео.html I hope it helps.
