love this group!!!!!!!!!!!! Their brotherhood is so amazing because even when they are performing the solo parts of their careers on stage together they jam to it like a fan in the audience its really beautiful!!!

Rick was VERY underrated. Everybody is entitled to their own opinion but Rick didn't get his just do until BBD best the NE songs were written and arranged for Ralph's voice. Somebody on this thread of commentary post threw a little shade at Rick so I had to make that point. it's sad that Ricky's signature song is not with the group that he started with.
It's sad how much Ricky was slept on that his solo debut wasnt even on a major. He deserved leads definitely but I know mca probably was prepping Ralph to go solo

Rick looks very handsome and he is singing one of my favorite songs but he is singing a little off key. But that's just a little moment he can sang though so he gets a pass.

So we just gonna ignore that Ronnie and Mike just pic of the mic and give it to the audience while the main singers: Bobby, Ralph, and Johnny sing lmbo
I know Mike was upset at first when Ralph wanted to do solo stuff, but tbh Ralph had every right to do so. ralph and Bobby carried the group and when Bobby left, it was all on ralph to hold up the group vocally until Johnny came along.
BBD didnt really last because they had catchy songs, but Ricky is not that strong of a vocalist. Ronnie can sing a little, but Mike cant sing at all so Ronnie and Mike had to balance it out with rapping.
Johnny, Ralph, and Bobby had their group Head of State: that was a power group because it had the smooth, the rough, and the sexy in sound. However, I dont think people took them seriously plus Bobby was still dealing with substance issues . If they were taken seriously, aint no telling how far they would have gotten
Overall the 6 of them fit very well.
Ricky sound terrible. Ricky doesn't have that stage presence that get the crowd moving. Ronnie and Mike need to hype the audience up. He can't move the audience like especially Ralph.

Hayah7 Actually Ralph outsold Ricky as a solo artist... Guess he was better vocally as a solo artist. You are comparing Ralph to a group (BBD) Bobby outsold BBD.. Guess bobby was better vocally than Johnny, BBD and Ralph.
+Hayah7 Right. Ralph has a radio show now in Boston so touring will be limited for him for a while
+Hayah7 That was a big problem for Rick. Bad timing and no promotion; not even a single. Everybody was out there doing their solo projects within the same few years from 88-91. After the huge success of BBD'S first CD, Rick should've been in that audio with Jam & Lewis, Teddy Riley, L.A. & Face, and /or any other HOT producer during that 'New Jack' era. Rick has the talent, but didn't make the right moves on time.

But he sounds better in this figure than he has in the last few years.
