    When I got my crown Vic, there were so many ants in the reservoir lol. I didn't know how to take out the motor then but I do now with this video 👍

    How'd you get the reservoir so clean? I can't get far in mine. Shook up water and Dawn but there's still so much grime in mine I'm thinking about just ordering a new one. Thanks for the video

      I don't remember doing anything special to it. If yours is particularly stained you can try a sulfamic acid soak

      definitely a lot easier if you remove the air box. Good job!

    Just so you know, washer fluid with additives (like Rain-X, de-icer, etc) can eat plastic and rubber. This is probably why.

    As it went all worked out well, but I think I would have tried the motor BEFORE I hooked it all up. Thanks for your video.

    On my 09 I don't hear anything when I push in on the washer control and I am not getting any fluid through the lines...everything else works okay. (The wipers make a few sweeps like they are supposed to when you push in on the wiper control.) I would think it means that the multifunction switch has failed?

    • @WJHandyDad
      @WJHandyDad  6 лет назад

      if the wipers are kicking on it sounds like the switch is working. Sounds like a bad pump. You can verify the switch is working by pulling the electrical connector off the pump and testing it with a multimeter - if it shows power when you press the switch you've got a bad pump. If no power, you've probably got a break somewhere between the switch and the motor.

    I had just replaced my wiper motor and my washer is not spraying anymore. It was before. I checked the fuses and they seem fine.

    • @WJHandyDad
      @WJHandyDad  2 года назад

      go back through and see what you did. It's always possible that the sprayer went bad simultaneous to your changing of the wiper motor, but odds are more likely that you accidentally disconnected or kinked something

    I just replaced the pump, but could not screw back two tank screws tight. They just keep turning.

    Back again with another CVPI. This time I tried three motors, none worked. I have looked all over the owners manual
    no reference to where the fuse for this pump motor is located. Wipers work, so it is not on that one. Need a helping hand
    on this one.

    • @WJHandyDad
      @WJHandyDad  2 года назад

      according to my wire diagram, the hot wire for the washer motor is black with white stripe. Check and see if it's hot. If not, then you know you don't have power. If the wipers work then it's probably a break in the black with white wire somewhere. If the wire is "hot" then you either got 3 bad motors in a row, or have a bad ground (black wire - look for continuity between a known ground and the end of the black wire). Try powering the motor on a workbench to see if it kicks on with 12v. Good luck!

    My washer pump on my 09 cvpi won't stop pumping, is there a fuse for it I can pull until I can fix it?

    • @WJHandyDad
      @WJHandyDad  4 года назад

      according to the only reference I have handy right now, it says it's a 30 amp fuse #2 - I'm guessing under the hood but not sure

    I been watching your videos and they been really helpful why my 2003 crown victoria every time i turn it on the washer start working with out turn it on ?

    • @WJHandyDad
      @WJHandyDad  6 лет назад

      if it sprays while cranking it sounds like someone hooked up the motor power to your "start" power (+12v when the key is turned all the way, otherwise no power). Or perhaps the wires have stripped out a bit and are touching. My guess is someone at some point was messing around in the steering column, so that's where I'd look first. Hope that helps.

    I installed a new Windshield Washer Reservoir. And I'm still having difficulty. When I push the windshield washer, I only get a little to come out. I have checked the hose, don't if it needs a replacement?

      White cleaning vinegar.
      Just soak the spray-jets to remove gunk + mineral deposits. Also works great on your clogged kitchen and bathroom nozzles.
