It's honestly the only way her storyline could have ended, given how Helga's friends massacred that poor girl's family, but it was tragic for all involved. Also, how come none of Ragnar's sons were there to be with?? They all knew Helga all their lives. At least Ivar could have been there, even if Bjorn was too dickish to even be part of the burial.

I liked Helga but she didn't help that little girl at all though. She chased the girl, who was actually running from her after the slaughter of her parent. Helga pursued her even when she ran into a house for safety. Helga was also part responsible for the Vikings taking the little girl as well as the other women as slaves in the home. At the end of it, Helga took her from her home and off to some strange country like she was some kind of puppy because she wanted another child.

It took me a while to see the purity and good hearted nature in Helga. As others said she didn’t have the ambition or the need for power like Siggy, Aslaug, and Lagertha. She was comfortable with just being a loving wife to a boatbuilder despite his faults. But with that said, it is ironic that her need for a replacement for the child that she loss was her demise. She didn’t give the poor girl a choice and if anything, Tamaruz was more so scared of Helga then she was Floki I and the rest of the Vikings if her facial expressions and body language was any indication when Floki was leading her back to Helga.
This one hit me as hard as Athelstan's death. Might be that I sympathize with Floki a bit... She loved him unconditionally. Not because she benefits from him, sometimes it's the opposite, but because she truely loves him with all her heart. It's not necessarily her death but this whole burial scene, Flokis pain spot on... It was because he died in the middle of Covid pandemic lockdown, so none of us could go to my grandfather's funeral, because we'd have to go to a different state and the borders were closed. So when we visited his grave and he broke down crying... I've never seen my father cry like that before. It broke my heart. Seeing grown "strong" men, break down after losing a loved one, like Floki, especially like Floki, when they're left alone is indeed enough to make a grown man cry.
