⚡ / 🔥 😱 🔥 Su-metal premiered this song the night before, at Budokan Red Night. Rondo is easily in my top five BABYMETAL songs. Su performed three solos that night. She did 'No Rain, No Rainbow', followed by 'Akatsuki' earlier in the set. Yui and Moa (as Black BABYMETAL) did two songs without Su ('4 no Uta' and 'Onedari Daisakusen'), and of course they all performed a bunch of songs together. That Black Night Budokan concert from March 2014 is still one of my favorite BABYMETAL concerts. Not only is Su brave enough to sing and dance on a tiny elevated platform in the dark, but she is also fearless enough to follow those amazing Kami Band solos.
Thanks from Japan 有難う💛。This is the song that I am longing for the revival with Su-Metal's matured rich voice. (Of course I love this version) "Rondo" is a musical form with a recurring leading theme. I can't tell how many times I have viewed this video. It is literally a rondo of happy dream for me. Kamis' (=Gods') super solos were excellent enough as a main event in the show, but once the 16-year-old Queen (as of 2014) emerged from the underground, she colored everything differently with her penetrating voice then turned Kami Band's plays into a ritual to summon her.
Great reaction. The 'Mischiefs of the Metal Gods' intro is not on the album - it is a Kami Band thing so only played in live shows as that is the only place you will see and hear them. The Kami Band that night were Leda Cygnus (blue guitar), Takayoshi Ohmura (gold guitar), BOH (bass) and Hideki Aoyama (drums). Did you say something about they were performing a ritual, summoning Su-metal up from the deep (or from below stage at least)? It did seem that way (but NotACult). There can't be many vocalists who could follow an intro like that ... and who would then completely take over the whole stage with their performance. Su-metal was still only just 16 here, it was only the second time she had sung this song live (first time was the night before). Rondo is a musical term describing a recurring theme. They have borrowed the term for this song to hi-light how this is a recurring nightmare. 'Rondo of Nightmare' is possibly their darkest song lyrically. Su is caught in a recurring nightmare being chased through the dark by something she can't see. Finally she hides but it is still coming closer and, accepting there is no escape she asks that if she is to die won't it at least reveal itself to her first. BABYMETAL were wanting to write a song in the EC style that everybody could dance to, but they felt something was missing ... so they thought they would ask EC if they wanted to do a collaboration. They were both playing in Boston at about the same time and BABYMETAL went to the RC concert, met up with them before the show and had a nice chat, stayed to watch the whole show after. If you watch any of the (several) live performances they have done together since the release of the official video you will see they are all just having the very best time together.
In this video, Su is just 16 years old performing at the famous Budokan arena in Japan. BABYMETAL were the youngest band/artists to perform there at the time. The Beatles, Ozzy, Cheap Trick, and Bob Dylan have performed there too. Su has such a commanding presence that you forget that she is a tiny girl on that stage, at just 5ft -1inch (155cm) tall. She may look like a tiny mortal, but she is a giant beast on stage. 🤘🦊🤘

She was just 16 (and a quarter) years old when she did this masterpiece. I absolutely love this performance!
Hi from Ireland, already subscribed due to g idle and aespa, and recently badvillian. Now you're reacting to my favorite, babymetal are so different just like g idle and aespa. You will love babymetal, highly suggest monochrome live at pia, and road of resistance live at pia, because they are epic tracks and recent. All their live shows are amazing so stick to live, you have a massive list of fantastic shows to get through, megitsune, headbanger dusk to dawn etc etc etc 😊
Since Babymetal is on a collab spree recently (F.Hero+Bodyslam, Electric Callboy, with Polyphia finally live) now I need them together with Dreamcatcher.
Rondo of Nightmare and Onedari are my two of my favorite songs from that concert, the whole show is amazing, Kami band is amazing and that drummer is absolutely sick.
This drummer is only one I've seen that plays metal so precise, groovy and GENTLY at the same time. I used to think that metal meant to be played HARD but this guy has changed my mind.
Imagine having the confidence to follow that great intro and her being on her own. You realise that she is not tall the impression you get from her standing with Yui and Moa . All that power and chrisma from this young lady . She is something special ❤😁 🤘🏼🦊🤘🏼
The performance by the band solo is great. However, as soon as the vocal appears and starts singing, everyone gasps at her beauty and recognizes that she is the protagonist.❤
This was a Budokan, a sports arena, made for good view all around , circle formation. You must be invited to play there. they have played there many times! (Lots of vids from this performance, circle stage). You want Babymetal Death for ritual (you might need oxygen).
