    You will never convince a 5.0 owner that the V-6 is worth anything. I know it's hard, but try not to let it bother you. I've owned 5 mustangs ( all 5.0) in my lifetime and my current one is a '14 V6. I love it. Haters gonna hate.

      The 2013 V-6 gets great fuel economy and has HP and torque equivalent to the Cobras of 1996-1998. I'm a V-8 guy and love that rumble and power, but after driving one of these V-6s on a trip some years ago, I am convinced - they're flat-out screamers. A total blast to drive. Throw some forced induction on one, and you'll have plenty of V-8 owners running scared, too.

After all, I'm not going to race it at the next NASCAR event! I'm an 'old guy' and the insurance rates are not bad, but the economy of the fuel, engine suit me fine. Your's looks fabulous in Blue! Those are not things wrong with your car, they are just comments from others. The rear deck lid, keep a car duster in your trunk. 30 seconds and it's fixed. I have a v-6 pony pack 2012 with the 6 speed manual. Love the car. Days that I'm in traffic I wish I had the auto. On the road however, the manual is fun. I may be able to help you out on the rattle. I have a '14 GT that had the same noise. It turned out to be the upper seat belt tensioner. After the dealer replaced it the noise is gone. BTW, unlike one of the folks below believes, even as a GT owner I do like the V6 'stang. It rides much better than my GT and has plenty of power. For me unfortunately I needed the sound the Coyote makes, but if it weren't for that I'd be very happy with the V6. And also don't worry about what others think. Once you get old like me you realize it really, truly doesn't matter. All that matters is what YOU think of your ride when you walk up to her.

    Hi Gram
    I just bought a 2013 V6 Mustang automatic with sport mode. It's the same car as yours .
    And it's a great car . I had mine 3 weeks and no it's not a v8 so what.
    It's fast enough to get me a ticket . Didnot get one . Bit it's fast . And the highway miles you get is great ....
    I drove from needles calf. Back to las vegas 133 miles cruse control .80 mph .
    Got to Vegas top off with gas . Only burnd 4 gallon s . That is Awesome. With price of gas today .
    So all V8 owners GT . Have to pay more for gas .... I rather have a nice V6 Mustang have just as much fun .and spend less in gas .
    I am a surfer. So when the waves are good I can get to surfing spot . At a reasonable amount of time having fun driving there with an awesome Mustang that the V6 in sports mode using the manual transmission shifting through all six gears not worrying to cost me an arm and a leg and gas and have enough money to buy lunch surfboard wax and go surfing for the rest of the day...
    Yes my car is silver black interior. Only 78,000 miles . In perfect condition.
    The only mods I am going too do . Is a cold air intake. Front strout bridge under the hood. Good leather seat covers. And and good Mustang floor Matt's and a trunk Matt to protect the truck when I put my road bike inside the trunk. Yes I am a cyclist. And my Bianchi infinito CV road bike fits perfectly inside the trunk with room for my duffel bag and nobody even knows it's in there so I don't even need a bicycle rack for the back of the car yes this mustang is an awesome car so I don't care what other people think or other people say if they got a V8 Mustang so what enjoy your nice blue Mustang I love the color lose my favorite color and have a good time you have an awesome car

    The best part of this car is that you can get tuned for $450 and stunt up on a v8 mustang and you can still drive it every single day, and most of the v8 owners just drive on weekends, on a v6 you can really enjoy your car , get fun , and the best part go anywhere without think to much on gas prices, on the paper the v8 says 17-25 but my friend get 14 miles for gallon, I personally in my v6 without tuning get 21 on city, yes mostly I drive has a grand mom but if I want it I use the power and I really love my car

  • @jeremyestrada6621
    @jeremyestrada6621 7 лет назад +7

    Well, here's the sad truth. Yes, I actually do respect the V6's performance. I find it absolutely impressive that modern V6's from Ford and Chevy are capable of 300 horses to the crank (although they do lack torque, which is a huge let down in comparison to a V8). However, a Mustang is a muscle car. Maybe not at first, but it eventually got that reputation through it's history. Therefore with it's long history, the way people look at a V6 Mustang is that it's not a real Mustang. All it is, is a upscaled engine of the Mazda 6 in the Mustang body. Don't be embarrassed by getting it, I mean you shouldn't at all. However, understand where people are coming from when they ask that question.

      No, I haven’t had any major issues (and very very few minor issues) with my car in the 5 years and 97,000 miles that I’ve owned it. The only true issue that I’ve had was when the water pump gasket went bad (which causes you to slowly lose coolant) and had to be replaced. That is a known issue with these engines though and is easy enough to do yourself like I did. Other than that, it’s been flawless!

    If you take some paper towel and stuff it under the plastic under your rear quarter panel, it will stop the annoying noise the plastic makes. I had this rattle noise for a while before I had a friend in the back hold pressure down on the plastic and it stopped. The plastic panel is hitting the metal behind it, so stuffing paper in there will prevent this.

It just causes dirt to catch and stick there and because of the black panel it doesn't take much to begin to notice it. Hahaha

      HeyThisIsGraham I've had my 2013 v6 for about 2 years and got it with only 7k miles. So far going onto 14k. Is there any problems I should look out for? Also what rims do you have, those are exactly the ones I want!

    • @GrahamCain
      @GrahamCain  7 лет назад

      Keep an eye out for issues with the water pump, the one on the 3.7L is know for being somewhat finicky. I'm at 80k miles now and am only just starting to have an issue with mine, although it acted up and then stopped again... but i've heard that it'll happen around 30k for most people. Other than that though these cars are pretty bullet proof, at least for the first 80k miles! haha. Just take care of it and you should be fine! Also, my wheels are the Performance Package wheels off of a 2015 Mustang GT. I had them powder coated though because I've always loved the look of gray wheels on a blue car but Ford only made these in black at the time!

      HeyThisIsGraham nice, thanks. Also I had a question about tires on the mustang. I just got a flat tire and patched it but i will need to replace it. The one that got patched was in the back, and will replace both back tires with winter tires then replace the front tires later on. Is it bad to have two different sets of tires? Also do you recommend all weather tires or winter tires? I live in Nebraska and we get lots of snow during winter but I put away my mustang during winter and use my truck.

    • @GrahamCain
      @GrahamCain  7 лет назад

      If you don't drive your mustang in the snow and won't ever drive it in the snow then I wouldn't worry about putting winter tires on it. All-season tires or even summer tires (if you REALLY don't drive it in the snow) would both be fine! If I were you, I wouldn't put winter tires on the Mustang. They'll handle and ride too poorly. Just put some All-seasons on and don't drive it in the snow! Haha

    I thought this was going to revolve more around maintenance. Everything you talked about other than the rear window panel is garbage. I drive a 2004 Mazda 3 that rattles like it will dismantle itself any second. And here you are talking about how sick you are when people give you a hard time for a great looking car.. It's a car. It serves ONE purpose.

    i test drove both manual and auto before getting mine, I guess I'm weird for finding the manual more ''fun''. plus I think most ppl just expect a mustang to be a manual so when they see an auto they get disappointed I guess, which I don't get cause its quicker in between shifts for sure so.. smh lol

      It's definitely not weird to find the manual more fun. It definitely offers a more connected driving experience. I'm just not disappointed to have an auto. I've but 80k+ miles on her in less than 5 years so it's been nice to have the auto for the daily driving.

    • @GrahamCain
      @GrahamCain  7 лет назад

      So did the grill fit perfectly?and where did you get it

    • @GrahamCain
      @GrahamCain  7 лет назад

      Not at all. Haha. I had to do quite a bit of Dremel-ing on the V6 surround to make the GT insert fit. It wasn't super easy but I made it work. We had Annika's stock V6 grille laying around so I pulled the surround off of it and picked up a GT grille from a guy on Facebook and then got the halos online.

    On my 2013 prem with pony package I have the same rattle from the back, never could figure it out, just live with it. My decklid in addition to being a dirt magnet, now half the clearcoat has come off and it really looks like crap. My biggest gripe with the car is the horrible suspension. I hate the wheel gap, body roll in corners and the sense of the wheels not being connected to the rest of the car under hard cornering.

    • @E52O4
      @E52O4 6 лет назад

      Rodimus Prime I agree, the stock suspension (even on the premiums) are not the best. I saved up money and upgraded to the Eibach pro plus suspension kit. Beefier sway bars, and shocks helped to lower that stock 4x4 wheel gap. Added an adjustable panhard bar and front tower strut as well. Now car stays planted when the road gets bumpy, there is virtually zero brake nosedive, and it corners fairly flat.

    Fantastic video ! lots of respect for it but yes... 100 percent it matters what engine is under the hood. It matters if that engine is reliable, if it makes power and where it makes power. If youre just after the looks and the brand then... just reliability is all that matters. I have my respects for v6 engines, but they certainly arent my favorite engine out there.

Honestly, I felt like it was about looks and reliability originally but it does have some zip. I don't feel like it's too much different from an 05-10 3v when it comes to power.

      Just find yourself some 125mm LED halos online and then go by your local auto parts store, get some wire, electrical tape, some wire strippers, splice connectors, and then look up a wiring diagram online for the headlights so that you splice them into the correct wire. It's fairly easy, just take your time and do it right and you'll be fine!
