The best part of this car is that you can get tuned for $450 and stunt up on a v8 mustang and you can still drive it every single day, and most of the v8 owners just drive on weekends, on a v6 you can really enjoy your car , get fun , and the best part go anywhere without think to much on gas prices, on the paper the v8 says 17-25 but my friend get 14 miles for gallon, I personally in my v6 without tuning get 21 on city, yes mostly I drive has a grand mom but if I want it I use the power and I really love my car
V6 powerplant muscle cars are amazing for daily drivers. Cheap af to maintain, low insurance costs compared to any v8, aggressive muscle styling and a bunch of upset fuck sticks that don’t understand compromise ;) Former iroc v8 owner, current v6 dib blue mustang owner
I own a black on black 2014 Mustang V6 and you're not kidding about the dirt and dust. Seems like I go to the car wash everyday of the week. Instantly regretted the purchase on that problem alone.
I can't enough how old it gets in the Facebook Mustang groups of people with V8s talking crap about the 3.7L V6. I've got a 3.7L and the hate comments get really old. I have a manual and get locked out of gears when driving hard and trying to shift. I might try a different bushing or something.
Scott, don't let them bug you! I own an older Mustang GT with a 4.6L V-8, and your car with its newer V-6 would absolute smoke mine. I've rented a 2013 V-6 Mustang and the thing was an absolute screamer - totally a blast to drive. I am actually considering buying one for my wife.
Well, here's the sad truth. Yes, I actually do respect the V6's performance. I find it absolutely impressive that modern V6's from Ford and Chevy are capable of 300 horses to the crank (although they do lack torque, which is a huge let down in comparison to a V8). However, a Mustang is a muscle car. Maybe not at first, but it eventually got that reputation through it's history. Therefore with it's long history, the way people look at a V6 Mustang is that it's not a real Mustang. All it is, is a upscaled engine of the Mazda 6 in the Mustang body. Don't be embarrassed by getting it, I mean you shouldn't at all. However, understand where people are coming from when they ask that question.
The thing I hate about my car is the leather seats in the winter it's too cold LOL! The n on the flip side in the summer it's too hot, but other than that I'm happy with the car I have. Great video Graham, how have you been with school and all?
I have 97723 miles as of today on my 16 v6 manual and I've had it since 10/28/16 with 7 miles on it. Aiming to be highest mileage mustang, and car one day.
No, I haven’t had any major issues (and very very few minor issues) with my car in the 5 years and 97,000 miles that I’ve owned it. The only true issue that I’ve had was when the water pump gasket went bad (which causes you to slowly lose coolant) and had to be replaced. That is a known issue with these engines though and is easy enough to do yourself like I did. Other than that, it’s been flawless!
I agree, I don't know why people hate the v6. its better on gas, and all in all its still a sports car. its a fun little car that you can make look cool. I like the v6.
Hey how are you. I also have a 2013 v6 mustang. Yes, black color is not the best cuz it gets dirty in the back of the car. But great that you made a video about things u don't like . u are right every one of them are true. Good luck.
I know exactly what you go through dude. I to have a V6 2014 and yeah I'ved own a few 5.0s in the past. I really don't care what type of mustang I have except for the 74 through 78 I'll pass. Just don't feel right without a stang. Anyways great looking car and thanks for the video
I know this is an old video but your last point is so true lol you were saying how you loved the deck lid, which I do too, but before you even said what the problem was I already was saying, “it gets dirty super easy” and I was right😂 I’ll clean mine then drive it for like 10 minutes and it has dust already😂
I just bought S550 performance pack rims in black for my 2014 V6, and I know the rims fit, but what lug nuts did you use? OEM from 2014? Or New ones? Thanks
Hey Graham, how did you do the fog light conversion? I've been looking for the parts but have not been so lucky. The grill and lights are easy, but not the brackets for the fog lights to be held in the grill or the wiring harness because I want to run my stock dogs with the gills at the same time. Is there a website I could go to?
I'm not sure where to find all of that. I'm only running the LED halo rings. There is no fog light behind them. These are simply held in place with 3m tape because they really don't need anything more.
What other people think of your car shouldn't bother you. Let it go! I have a v6 and i love it. Screw a 5.0. And the people who crash a mustang are the very ones who THINK they are a pro driver and show there ASS and prove how stupid they are. Move over 5.0 the V6 is coming!
Honestly, I really don't care what people think of my car. I love it and that's all that really matters! I just couldn't think of anything else to complain about! Haha
Auto isn't faster it's really just more consistent. Stock times are 5.8 auto 5.3 manual. However they can be quick with mpt tune. Autos are for bracket racers manuals are for drivers, still nice car car man.
you're right about the decklid, but is your clearcoat peeling horribly? a lot of peoples clearcoat just on that black decklid panel are peeling bad and it looks god awful. i recently just put on the matte black vinyl from american muscle to cover it up. ford sucks sometimes!
As a 2014 modded v6 mustang owner I get these questions too. The best answer you can give is: "Would you like to upgrade me?" Them: "No.." Me: "Then shut up."
I drive an auto V8 and get hate all the time about my car not being manual. People ask me all the time, “Why didn’t you get the manual?” It’s pretty annoying honestly. Why the heck does it matter? It’s still a Mustang.
If you take some paper towel and stuff it under the plastic under your rear quarter panel, it will stop the annoying noise the plastic makes. I had this rattle noise for a while before I had a friend in the back hold pressure down on the plastic and it stopped. The plastic panel is hitting the metal behind it, so stuffing paper in there will prevent this.
I don't think the wing really has anything to do with it, honestly! The back of a car is always the place that get's dirtiest simply due to the way that air flows around it. It just causes dirt to catch and stick there and because of the black panel it doesn't take much to begin to notice it. Hahaha
HeyThisIsGraham I've had my 2013 v6 for about 2 years and got it with only 7k miles. So far going onto 14k. Is there any problems I should look out for? Also what rims do you have, those are exactly the ones I want!
Keep an eye out for issues with the water pump, the one on the 3.7L is know for being somewhat finicky. I'm at 80k miles now and am only just starting to have an issue with mine, although it acted up and then stopped again... but i've heard that it'll happen around 30k for most people. Other than that though these cars are pretty bullet proof, at least for the first 80k miles! haha. Just take care of it and you should be fine! Also, my wheels are the Performance Package wheels off of a 2015 Mustang GT. I had them powder coated though because I've always loved the look of gray wheels on a blue car but Ford only made these in black at the time!
HeyThisIsGraham nice, thanks. Also I had a question about tires on the mustang. I just got a flat tire and patched it but i will need to replace it. The one that got patched was in the back, and will replace both back tires with winter tires then replace the front tires later on. Is it bad to have two different sets of tires? Also do you recommend all weather tires or winter tires? I live in Nebraska and we get lots of snow during winter but I put away my mustang during winter and use my truck.
If you don't drive your mustang in the snow and won't ever drive it in the snow then I wouldn't worry about putting winter tires on it. All-season tires or even summer tires (if you REALLY don't drive it in the snow) would both be fine! If I were you, I wouldn't put winter tires on the Mustang. They'll handle and ride too poorly. Just put some All-seasons on and don't drive it in the snow! Haha
Nice car. I love cars and trucks but to be honest, I would never LEAN against my vehicle is such a way as you are doing. Take care of the Mustang. Good video.
I enjoy the Mustang quite a bit more than the 370Z’s of the same year. The later model 370’s have come a long way but there’s something about a Mustang that you just don’t get from a 370Z... I am bias though. I’ve always been a Mustang fan.

the manual trans in that gen weren't any good anyways, the v6 did get the better felling manual in my opinion but i think you played it smart when you got that with the auto and v6
I too used to hate on the v6 mustangs and always wondered if there was a point to getting an american muscle car with a v6 til i grew up and bought my own 2013 v6 mustang and i can truthfully admit it is a fantastic engine and can sound amazing, granted not as good as a v8 but cmon most of the people hating still drive their moms old car or some 5.0 they will be paying off for the next 10 years
How’s the reliability of the cyclone engine?? Looking to buy a new s550 bc used cars have been a curse for me and I’ve seen great deals on the v6 s550 but last time I owners a mustang was a 2003 v6 and it was terrible
Graham Cain really?! That gives a lot of confidence, looking to hopefully buy my cyclone soon. Sadly gonna have a roll over from my current car of about 4-6k but they’re on sale so after roll over I’m looking at basically MSRP, think it’s a good deal?? Lightning blue, 6 speed auto 2017,0 Miles
Dude you gotta tell me where did you get the gt style front grille and the fog lights...coz I just bought a 2013 v6 convertible and it has none of them. I would absolutely need to get that halo fog lights for my front grille, only in my case they would be amber
I thought this was going to revolve more around maintenance. Everything you talked about other than the rear window panel is garbage. I drive a 2004 Mazda 3 that rattles like it will dismantle itself any second. And here you are talking about how sick you are when people give you a hard time for a great looking car.. It's a car. It serves ONE purpose.
i test drove both manual and auto before getting mine, I guess I'm weird for finding the manual more ''fun''. plus I think most ppl just expect a mustang to be a manual so when they see an auto they get disappointed I guess, which I don't get cause its quicker in between shifts for sure so.. smh lol
It's definitely not weird to find the manual more fun. It definitely offers a more connected driving experience. I'm just not disappointed to have an auto. I've but 80k+ miles on her in less than 5 years so it's been nice to have the auto for the daily driving.
yeah true I daily mine too but not nearly as you lol. and not gonna lie when traffic hits all that goes thru my head is "damn it!" well I found I say it a lot more now lmao
Paint the deck tan and dust problem solved. I drivd a 2005 V6 and haven't owned a V8 since 1980. The V6 is more Euro sounding and they are far from slow.
i would only get a manual if the car has a big engine with lots of torque. i do not enjoy rowing the gears on a tiny Honda engine if you know what i mean
Not at all. Haha. I had to do quite a bit of Dremel-ing on the V6 surround to make the GT insert fit. It wasn't super easy but I made it work. We had Annika's stock V6 grille laying around so I pulled the surround off of it and picked up a GT grille from a guy on Facebook and then got the halos online.
On my 2013 prem with pony package I have the same rattle from the back, never could figure it out, just live with it. My decklid in addition to being a dirt magnet, now half the clearcoat has come off and it really looks like crap. My biggest gripe with the car is the horrible suspension. I hate the wheel gap, body roll in corners and the sense of the wheels not being connected to the rest of the car under hard cornering.
Rodimus Prime I agree, the stock suspension (even on the premiums) are not the best. I saved up money and upgraded to the Eibach pro plus suspension kit. Beefier sway bars, and shocks helped to lower that stock 4x4 wheel gap. Added an adjustable panhard bar and front tower strut as well. Now car stays planted when the road gets bumpy, there is virtually zero brake nosedive, and it corners fairly flat.
Hey man just wanted to ask on your most recent video... is there anyway you could do a video on your GFs halo fog light set up and how she (or you guys) went about installing them?
The install was fairly similar to mine. Wire them to the running lights and either 3m tape (how mine are attached) or ziptie (how hers are attached) them to your grille.
Only in the car community there is insecurity about autos/manuals. I once asked a teenager who's worshipping manuals to properly ride a motorcycle in a track and suddenly he's questioning his identity.
And I don’t like the spoiler. All this dust just cakes up in the cracks between the spoiler and the body of the car. I feel like the spoiler is just completely unnecessary
Fantastic video ! lots of respect for it but yes... 100 percent it matters what engine is under the hood. It matters if that engine is reliable, if it makes power and where it makes power. If youre just after the looks and the brand then... just reliability is all that matters. I have my respects for v6 engines, but they certainly arent my favorite engine out there.
I've had a handful of v8 mustangs as well. All are nice in their own ways. I do have a 3.7. I was pleasantly surprised by this engine. Honestly, I felt like it was about looks and reliability originally but it does have some zip. I don't feel like it's too much different from an 05-10 3v when it comes to power.
Just find yourself some 125mm LED halos online and then go by your local auto parts store, get some wire, electrical tape, some wire strippers, splice connectors, and then look up a wiring diagram online for the headlights so that you splice them into the correct wire. It's fairly easy, just take your time and do it right and you'll be fine!

I own a 14 v6 and one thing I hate.! is it doesn’t come with any hood struts lol
V6 powerplant muscle cars are amazing for daily drivers. Cheap af to maintain, low insurance costs compared to any v8, aggressive muscle styling and a bunch of upset fuck sticks that don’t understand compromise ;)
Former iroc v8 owner, current v6 dib blue mustang owner
I own a black on black 2014 Mustang V6 and you're not kidding about the dirt and dust. Seems like I go to the car wash everyday of the week. Instantly regretted the purchase on that problem alone.
Bro it's a dope as car....
People are fuxking HATERS
I feel your pain! That would have been a good point to add! Haha. Things are good here though, man! Thanks for asking! How about you?
My friends ALWAYS make Mustang jokes, but then I ask them if they want to drive it and then all of a sudden, "Wait, really? I'd love to!"
Don't knock it until you try it, right?
I have 97723 miles as of today on my 16 v6 manual and I've had it since 10/28/16 with 7 miles on it. Aiming to be highest mileage mustang, and car one day.
You're getting there, that's for sure!
God damn !
Mustangs are just really reliable. I love my 2013 v6 and my husband has a ‘99 with 438,000 miles on it that still runs fantastically
Audrey Kennedy How is your 2013? I’m looking into buying one myself, v6
Courtney Martin I love my 2013. It’s a convertible and the v6 is great. I get about 27 mpg
Have u had any serious repairs since your 4 yr ownership thinking of getting a Mustang automatic thanks for the review keep enjoying your Mustang
Good luck.
My 2011 3.7 is my life and 20 mpg average, you're definitely not getting that in a coyote. The back road handling is way better too.
I have the exact year of urs and no way I get 20mpg. Mostly city tho
Should rename the video to “Things I hate that people say about the V6 Mustang” love the look of the car tho
Shit idc I wish I had the 3.7 liter, my 2010 S197 has the old 4.0 liter. That engine literally has 100+ horsepower than mine.
I subbed because I'm looking to get the same year mustang as you in the V6 model you've been a big help bro
Very glad I could help!
SBtv TM I’m about to get one very soon
I know exactly what you go through dude. I to have a V6 2014 and yeah I'ved own a few 5.0s in the past. I really don't care what type of mustang I have except for the 74 through 78 I'll pass. Just don't feel right without a stang. Anyways great looking car and thanks for the video
I know this is an old video but your last point is so true lol you were saying how you loved the deck lid, which I do too, but before you even said what the problem was I already was saying, “it gets dirty super easy” and I was right😂 I’ll clean mine then drive it for like 10 minutes and it has dust already😂
5:20 OMG...looks at that beauty...wow
I drive in Seattle Tacoma traffic everyday. I'll take auto.
I just bought S550 performance pack rims in black for my 2014 V6, and I know the rims fit, but what lug nuts did you use? OEM from 2014? Or New ones? Thanks
I used my stock lugs without issue!
Autos are for bracket racers manuals are for drivers, still nice car car man.
you're right about the decklid, but is your clearcoat peeling horribly? a lot of peoples clearcoat just on that black decklid panel are peeling bad and it looks god awful. i recently just put on the matte black vinyl from american muscle to cover it up. ford sucks sometimes!
the only issue that I have with the clear coat on the deck lid is that it is fading at the top of the faux gas cap.
As a 2014 modded v6 mustang owner I get these questions too.
The best answer you can give is: "Would you like to upgrade me?" Them: "No.." Me: "Then shut up."
I like the 13s and 14s I want a 13 for my first car since they are cheap
Chicharito IsGoat i noticed that they are cheap too, do you happen to know why ?
I drive an auto V8 and get hate all the time about my car not being manual. People ask me all the time, “Why didn’t you get the manual?” It’s pretty annoying honestly. Why the heck does it matter? It’s still a Mustang.
Do love the Manuel in mine. Do hate trying to shift with cups in the cupholder. Owner of 08 v6 auto and 2012 v6 manuel.
I'll give that a shot!
I have a 2014 v6 just like this one. Same color, spoiler, etc. What size wheels are those?
They only thing I hate on my 2013 Mustang V6 is that I can't figure out why the AUX line in doesn't work.
So...you made a video about why other people hate your 2013 mustang. Love your car bro.
Yes the back panel! It gets dirty after washing it! I thought it was my small wing but even with your wing it gets dirty
Haha
Bro, how you get those lights on the grill?
I hate when 5.0 owners ask me why did you get a 3.7l and I ask them why did you get a 5.0 why didn't you get a 350 or 500 lol it's so dumb
Well, why did you?
Je leur réponds: pas besoin de 5.0, quand je veux faire du sport je roule avec ma 911, et j'aime mon V6 2010 ;)
Nice car. I love cars and trucks but to be honest, I would never LEAN against my vehicle is such a way as you are doing. Take care of the Mustang. Good video.
Work good no issues????which one better this or nissan 370 z.?
I enjoy the Mustang quite a bit more than the 370Z’s of the same year. The later model 370’s have come a long way but there’s something about a Mustang that you just don’t get from a 370Z... I am bias though. I’ve always been a Mustang fan.

Put a matte black wrap on the deck lid . You have a nice car .
Just got a 14 5.0 2013 and 2014 are beautiful cars bottom line
Couldn't agree more! Congrats on your car!
What strut tower brace do you? I have been looking for 2 years!
the manual trans in that gen weren't any good anyways, the v6 did get the better felling manual in my opinion but i think you played it smart when you got that with the auto and v6
I've heard and do agree. I'm happy with the auto.
Ya know i have manual S197 and i must say, there r days i wished it were an auto. Lol.
I believe it! I'm sure it's nice to row through the gears though!
Me too haha.
I too used to hate on the v6 mustangs and always wondered if there was a point to getting an american muscle car with a v6 til i grew up and bought my own 2013 v6 mustang and i can truthfully admit it is a fantastic engine and can sound amazing, granted not as good as a v8 but cmon most of the people hating still drive their moms old car or some 5.0 they will be paying off for the next 10 years
did you add the circle lights?
I did. I made a video covering the install!
Nice, maybe try some dyno-mat behind that platice corner panel. Keep up the good work
Good idea! I'll give that a shot.
How’s the reliability of the cyclone engine?? Looking to buy a new s550 bc used cars have been a curse for me and I’ve seen great deals on the v6 s550 but last time I owners a mustang was a 2003 v6 and it was terrible
I hit 100k miles on mine just last week and have had no issues with the car since the day that I drove it off the lot! It’s been an amazing car!
Great video Graham! Have the same one with the deep impact blue premium package!
Where did you order the gt style fog light kit ?
it's a factory GT grille and Halo LED's. There are no fog lights there.
Paint the deck tan and dust problem solved. I drivd a 2005 V6 and haven't owned a V8 since 1980. The V6 is more Euro sounding and they are far from slow.
Not having paddle shifters would annoy me with that little switch
It's really not bad at all. I'll take it any day over the 1-2-3-D shifter that you get on the 10-12 Mustangs.
HEY BRO IM SO EXCITED FOR WATCHING YOUR GRILLE!!! I HAVE THE SAME GRILLE V6 AND MY QUESTION IS HOW TO U INSTALL THE FOG LIGHTS??????
I wired them to the running lights and 3M taped them to the backside of the grille.
i would only get a manual if the car has a big engine with lots of torque.
i do not enjoy rowing the gears on a tiny Honda engine if you know what i mean
What kind of grill did you use and how did you connect the halos?
GT grille, V6 surround, and lots of 3m tape to keep the halos in place. It works though and that's what counts! Haha
So did the grill fit perfectly?and where did you get it
Not at all.
I did exact same thing lolol I put a 2014 front bumper cover and hood on my 2011. I had the bumper and hood painted Kona blue to match my Cars color
Should I put big Shelby style white strips on my mustang, which is the same blue as his is?
+Pizza Rolls if you like that look, go for it! It's not my personal choice but it definitely think that it looks good!
HeyThisIsGraham 'preciate ya!
I feel you bud I agree with your point on the mustang jokes -2014 v6
The deck lid is a real annoyance on mine some of the clear coat has come off and it looks terrible.
Only in the car community there is insecurity about autos/manuals. I once asked a teenager who's worshipping manuals to properly ride a motorcycle in a track and suddenly he's questioning his identity.
I don’t like how in the manual it says that you should press ‘Sirius’ and ‘1’ at the same time to get the radio I.D. and it literally does nothing...
And I don’t like how the auxiliary input is inside of the central gloves compartment.
And I don’t like the spoiler. All this dust just cakes up in the cracks between the spoiler and the body of the car.
I feel like the spoiler is just completely unnecessary
What kind of fog light do you have??? looks amazing
Dude I know right
Fantastic video ! lots of respect for it but yes...
Hey how did you get the halo fog lights on a V6?
Wired them to the running lights myself!
oh sick!! i would like to do this to my v6 as well, what would i need to buy?
Just find yourself some 125mm LED halos online and then go by your local auto parts store, get some wire, electrical tape, some wire strippers, splice connectors, and then look up a wiring diagram online for the headlights so that you splice them into the correct wire. It's fairly easy, just take your time and do it right and you'll be fine!
Dude can you please tell me where you got your fog grille? Or what type it is.
It's a stock GT grille that I did some custom work on.
I have a Mach 1 and I'm not even going to hate on a v6 because most are nice and clean and yours is most likely faster than my car
I've got the same Damn rattle so if you ever find out let me know dude
Will do! Mine comes and goes so I’ve never been too bothered to pull everything apart to find it.
On my 2010 V6 : I found it is the rear view mirror: while driving, just hold the rear view mirror and all the tweeter stops on mine ;)
did you put a splitter on it?
I have a all
Black 2013 v6 Mustang and I can say it is annoying I washed it and there’s already a thin coat of dust all over it🤧
Does anyone here know where I can get that grill with the halo lights and running pony??
Alberto Meneses I bought it used. It’s an OEM GT grille with a V6 surround and halo LEDs from superbrightLEDs.con
When someone says why a v6 they usually pulling up in their Honda Odyssey
I couldn’t afford for the v8, maybe in the future I will. But I love my 14 mustang v6 is fast and fun
what lower grille is that?
It is the roush lower grille delete!
The hate comes from.back in the day the 90s and early 2ks the V6 was awful and most dont know how far they have came.
I have a grabber blue. That deck lid gets dirty all the time lol
