    This came at exactly the right time, as I have just ordered a couple of Creed samples (Aventus, Green Irish Tweed & Millesime Imperial) - thanks to GG's earlier video about classic men's fragrances - and fell instantly in love with the GIT variant. Knowing that this is really a quality product makes it easier to pull the trigger, but I might just wait a little longer until that video about alternative perfumes comes out...

    Collector here. Don’t buy into creed history and hype. They have good fragrances but you can find them discounted in the grey market for $100-200. Retail prices aren’t worth it period as there are far higher quality perfumes that in that price range. Got all my 11 Creeds for less than $160.

    Just one minor feedback point: The belt you are wearing needs to be shortened, or an extra clip used to contain excess part that's visible towards the side of your waistband. Having that stick-out (as it does in 2:50 and 6:23 draws too much attention from the otherwise polished look). Hope you don't mind this being pointed out :). Keep up the great work!

    I've only tried aventus and green Irish tweed. bit pricey for me and I find Aventus an acquired scent. Not masculine enough for me but GIT seems to be a crowd pleaser but a lot of people mistake it for cool water. I usually wear a fragrance but generally lean towards the designer stuff over niche. I've also found a few good obscure cheapies for day wear that have netted a few compliments.

    I personally love Creed's Silver Mountain Water (and yes I know this is very much a love it or hate it Cologne) BUT I have found some very good analogs of SMW so I usually wear those instead, the good ones are not all that much cheaper (still 60 to 70 percent cost per cc's) but the projection and longevity of the Creed original (and some of the analogs) is so strong that it is actually good value for money.
    However I've never found a suitable analog of Green Irish Tweed so every couple of years I'll grin and bear the the hip pocket hit and save it for special occasions. As such looking forward to the "alternatives" video

    Creed is available on amazon UK, although it's an odd distribution chanel for a brand that sets its sights on such a high price point, marketed on exclusivity. For example Aventus 100ml eau de parfum is £264. If I had that budget available I could alternatively opt for a pair of Grenson Derby handmade shoes for £265! For me that's no contest. Can't see the price to value argument in favour of such an expensive fragrance.

      Honestly I think it’s the natural Cedar and Sandalwood oil. It’s quite apparent in the opening & drydown.

    • @ajwhitfield5793
      @ajwhitfield5793 3 года назад

      @@SG-wj2qj absolutely. Royal Oud is one of my signature winter scents for years, so I've had experience across multiple batches from both Creed and clone houses.
      The clones NEVER get the blend of the Angelica root correct. RO is supposed to go from spicy (pink pepper corn) to vanilla spice citrus ( Angelica root, Calabrian lemon) to the final base of woods (Cedar, oud). That is why clone houses will attempt but never get the progression right. Hence zero chance of landing even close to a 50% comparison to the real RO.

    I've purchased the 100 ml bottles of Aventus and GIT. They both went "bad" after a few years. GIT went sooner than Aventus. So, unless you are going to wear these fragrances every day, it really isn't cost effective to buy the 100 ml bottles or larger as the juice won't last long enough to use up the bottle. But these fragrances aren't really made for every day wear. They're more for special occasions. So go with the 50 ml is you want the Creed bottle, or buy a smaller size (or decant) from one of the places that repackage them. You'll save money in the long run.

    My wife got me #1 for my birthday. We love it but no one has asked about the fragrance like they have when I used to wear Fahrenheit by Dior. I can’t wear it any more as it reminds my wife of her late father.
    I’m guessing it doesn’t match my skin type as well as the latter.

      You should try Amouage Portrayal man, if you're looking for a bit of luxury. It has that prominent violet leaf note that will remind you of Dior Farenheit. The original Farenheit was a beast to be reckoned with, amazing. Now it's watered down sadly. Amouage Portrayal man is a but more classy, slightly more floral but refined and masculine. Seriously if you love Dior Farenheit, try this one buddy 👍🏼

    I have four flavors of creed in 1.7 oz and a bunch of those little samplers. The only way I can get these products to last is to put a SMALL touch of Vaseline where I spray it. I think they’re excellent scents but worth $300-$400 for a 1.7 ounce size? No freakin way!!

It would def be my signature scent except that now a days, everyone is wearing masks so no one knows how good you smell anyway. I'll start wearing Aventus again when covid is finally gone. Until then, really no point in wearing cologne at all..

    • @jura_rose
      @jura_rose 3 года назад

      It's doesn't smell of true Vetiver (like royal oud, does not have any oud). Guerlain Vetiver is better in my opinion, much more realistic Vetiver and tobacco. Better quality and much cheaper. Only Vetiver that could tip Guerlain Vetiver is Roja Vetiver, but not so much to warrant paying nearly four times the price.

    Dear Gentleman’s Gazette, I am aware that this video is over 2 years old at this point and so I don’t expect a response but for anyone who comes across this video, perhaps there are some things about the house of Creed that people should be aware of I think. I’d advice anyone to read the book called ‘The Ghost Perfumer’ by Gabe Oppenheim. The book goes in depth on the, very much made-up, and borderline ridiculous claims the house of Creed makes about their history, bringing their authenticity and integrity very much into question. Furthermore, on the ethical side, many of Creed’s most famous perfumes (Green Irish Tweed, Original Santal, Silver Mountain Water and many more) were made by the perfumer Pierre Bourdon early on in his career. According to the book, where the author interviewed Mr Bourdon, he never got any credit for it and was never paid for the work he did for the house of Creed, contrary to what mr Creed promised him, among other things.
    I’m not asking for a total boycott of this house, but I would suggest, especially informed consumers like the Gentleman’s Gazette, to be informed about these things!

    I’ve never seen any cheaper creed fragrances like that. The only ones i have seen from creed were the stupidly priced ones in the thousands of dollars that come with decanters or fancy bottles. 300-400 on a really nice cologne isn’t bad. 1000-5000 on a cologne is. Unless spending that much is the same as a normal person spending 10 bucks.
