OMG, whilst I grew up in Sri Lanka, spoke little Singhala, mother tongue English & left for Australia at 13, I understood enough to know this presenter was really arrogant with little or no appreciation of Chinese descendents in Sri Lanka as being Sri Lankan & human beings. Needs to really polish up his interviewing skill set!

He missed at the start to say what kind of population made it to Sri lanka at that time. The presenter was trying to stamp them as Sri Lankan when they where Sri lankan already.I dont think no one needs for some one to approval stamp as Sri Lankan.

There is no such thing as race, everyone is mixed at any point. No one is a 100% sinhalese/tamil
U R right, hardly anybody in the world has 100% pure single race lineage, all have 2-3-10 mix but some have one lineage higher like 70-30, 80-20, others have near 50-50 or 60-40 etc mixes, current established theory is all connected to original homosapiens humans came out of Africa, some very black, others very light tan complexion negroid from colder southern Africa too, all few 100,000 yrs back
who started spreading all over the globe on foot& boats & changed face, skin etc & also inter mixed repeatedly to create the current many, many different races out there. There's very latest last 1-2 yrs anthropological findings even suggest there's very few Europeans,etc have 1% less genes of pre homosapiens species called Neanderthal who were extinct after slightly overlapped the new homosapiens & might have inter breed very minutely too.
These all were before clothes, tools& even any languages or religions ever invented yet. These all are our ancient pre historical ancestors of all 6-7 Billions of us now.
We come a long way & still want to kill each others every day incldng some anti Muslims & Hindu comments by just 1-2 , boy oh boy.(I've been in SL several times many yrs back also to India, SPr, Malaysia, Thai, PH etc & only know 20-30+ Sinhala words & a bit more Hindi, Tamil etc. too, But have been to Chinese restaurants in SL & India 35+ yrs ago too + from watching& reading comments etc I totally understand the Chinese dad, SL moms & their young to older mix blood SL kids story here its also same in India, Malaysia, SPore etc many mix childrens all over speaking fluent Hindi, Tamil, Malay, Mandarin etc.
