Into the Dead: Our Darkest Days is a side-scrolling shelter survival game that transports players to Texas, 1980 at the height of summer during the outbreak of a deadly apocalypse. Lead a group of desperate survivors from shelter to shelter as they attempt to escape Walton City before it is overrun. Scavenge, craft, fight, and plan your next move - and try not to lose yourself along the way.
Into the Dead: Our Darkest Days is the latest instalment in the highly successful Into the Dead franchise from New Zealand publisher and developer PikPok.

From first person shooting while running into an adventure side scrolling
Imo side is scarier since you can fully see them coming on both sides and go “oh $&@? Me!” And trying to figure out what to do or get eaten.

I love this style gameplay, it's make me remember a game called This War of Mine. It's almost same but different genre! I can't wait to buy this!

Fun fact, that's' the game where CoD Dev pitched the idea for a Round Based Zombies, as a extra mode for World At War. And before anyone asks, look it up for source. I didn't know this until someone was covering the history of Call of Duty franchise documentary.
That was such a food flash game. Hope this one is similar.

Right, but the sneaking and running mechanics are very similar to TWoM
It's very similar to Deadlight 2012 game. If you like zombie side scroller, i recommend you to play it before playing this game 🙂👌

Thank you for being cultured my friend, into the dead is legitimately a copy and paste of dead light with possibly more story and dialogue. Dead light is legitimately one of my favorite side scrollers and it has a truly heartbreaking ending. In my opinion.

Well, I like this. Even though it'll take me a bit of learning curve to do anything (I'm more used to the shoot without a second thought style of zombie apocalypse, but that's just me.)
The fact that we get to observe the surroundings means I get to do a lot of retrospection and connecting evidence between games. I'm looking forward to seeing what exactly happened to cause all this mayhem. And how the Waltonians decided to defend themselves against it.

Looks amazing! That ending was brutal… but it would be a cool mechanic! Like when you lose a survivor you can recover some of the items you lost by going to the same spot they died and salvaging them 😬👏

OMG,This looks amazing! I can't wait for it to come out. The graphics and the setting, wow, and the view, simply incredible.
I love this series. I played ITD2 shortly after it’s release and I’ve been hooked since, and so, I’m hyped for this! I also hope it expand the lore of the universe, because despite not being that upfront, the lore is still there - and I just wanna watch it grow.

The game looks very nice. I like "This War of Mine" game so much. This game reminds me of it. I will definitely play this.
Very excited to try it, I played the first two Into the Dead games, and it’s great to see how they literally want to change the perspective. I saw a lot of game comparisons, but to me it seems it will be some sort of mix of Deadlight (dark zombie side scroller) and Zombie U (story driven survival where you have to play another survivor after your death and have to pick your stuff on the zombie/corpse)
I used to play a browser game in this style as a kid. Can't wait to pick this up!

I can't help, but be reminded of Deadlight. An old Xbox live arcade title I used to play that had similar gameplay. Complete with the 2.5D style.
I absolutely love this art style, the side scrolling and style reminds me so much about the game INSIDE from playdead. I cant wait to play this. Also does anyone else think the guy who dies at the end sorta sounds like Richard Waterson from the amazing world of Gumball?

Yes, I finally got this gameplay thriller, I really liked the fact that when the character dies, you can find his body in another, I understand that the same mechanics were in some other game, but I forgot in this one.
We now have an updated roadmap for our game. Into the Dead: Our Darkest Days will now release a free public demo in October 2024 here on Steam, and go into Early Access in 2025.

The Into the dead games have always been one of the only games I've ever had installed on my phone. I've enjoyed them since the first one came out and this looks like an awesome, cool evaluation of the series.

This is definitely a vibe to play on a certain day in a certain mood. Couldn't see myself drawn into playing it as I did with games like Kingdom Hearts when it first launched years ago and I played nonstop. Would be a good experience on a cozy rainy day on the weekend with some snacks and knowing you don't have work on Monday. That's the vibe for me personally.
