I have way too many guitars and have been trying to get rid of some but it's definitely hard. I need to for sure become a bit more minimalist. This helps a little.
Glad it's helpful. Doesn't have to happen overnight thats for sure. You could always just take what you don't use and tuck it away for a bit to see if you miss it at all. That's what I do when I'm debating selling something.
Completely get where this is coming from. Currently selling the final 2 electrics that are holding me over my magic number of 5 (1 in UK, 4 in Bucharest). I want the guitars to go to people who value them more than I do. I want all my guitars to be crying out for my attention. Also selling 3 basses out of 7. All great instruments but surplus to my needs.
I still have the ‘62ri we traded for. I did put Kinman Mayer style pickups in it and jumbo frets. Ordered my Silver Sky the day after I borrowed yours.
Good on you. I've been going through a rough time re minimalism. I've got way more than I need (which for my hobbyist purposes is like one or two of Im honest) so it's good to see someone who actually uses these tools professionally say "nah I will MAKE myself sell this one". I'm not even sure which of my eleven I would sell =/
No rule says you have to. If you use them all and they bring you joy there's nothing wrong with that at all. I just go with what works for my circumstance and understand that that will likely change over time and just try to make sure that its music first and gear second. The best thing to come of this one year no gear is the time I've gained back that I would have spent researching gear that I have been able to use for things like playing music and working on these videos.

Ok I believe you on the whole minimalist thing. No other guitarist would sell a guitar because they have too many :)
All in the name of no more dead strings when I wanna play a guitar haha.

I've really been enjoying it! It's actually been making me wanna play and practice a lot more. Thanks again!
Glad to hear thats awesome!
I got a great laugh from when you said "or you could save money" followed by a silence
I know it's kinda funny but sometimes we are so set on the next purchase it's not even a thought haha

That’s awesome. That 62 is so killer and has gone up in value tons! Could never get past that little neck though.
@@minimalistmusician Jumbos we’re my attempt to try and get it a bit thicker.
I bought your Nash at 12th Fret as well IIRC.

Both are such nice guitars! I remember playing them both! Definitely picked up that black strat whenever I came to lessons without a guitar
Yeah they're killer! Any new guitars on your end these days?
@@minimalistmusician Not since my Strat and my AZ
This is actually making me want to sell a couple guitars I don't ever use. That's something lol
A wise man once told me you can only play one at a time!
To go through my gear and sell what I don't use ... or to go buy a Silver Sky - that's the real question
Why not both?!
Lie detected at 9:40... you can not save money instead of buying any specific guitar, you must instead buy another guitar
This seems valid!
